"On September 20, I placed an order for a Sony DSC-R1 digital camera. The camera was advertised as a new, USA model. Later in the day, I received a phone call to verify the order. I spoke to John who tried to up-sell me on a battery, memory card and case. I told him I didn't need them because I already had those accessories (which I do from my F717). He did not pressure me excessively and said he would complete my order. As a precaution, I asked if this was a new camera with a Sony USA warranty. John assured me it was. A short while later, I received an e-mail saying "Your order (xxxxxx) has some problems and currently is On-Hold." I thought to myself, "OK, here we go!". I called the number provided and spoke to a lady in customer service (I didn't get her name). She said that there was a problem authorizing my credit card. Sure enough, I had mis-typed one of the numbers. I gave her the correction and asked if it would be possible to ship the camera that day so I could have it for the weekend, otherwise I wouldn't receive it until Monday. She said she would try her best to get the camera out, but it was already after 4:30 PM. I didn't receive an e-mail with a tracking number, but sure enough, Friday I had my camera. The camera box had a "Sony" seal and there was a USA warranty card in the box. I was a happy camper. I'd like to publicly thank the nice lady in customer service who made the effort to get my camera out that day, even with the close deadline.
*Update*
I was in the market for a Panasonic DCM-LX2. TVSDepot had advertised the best price for a USA model. When I called, I spoke to Joe. I wanted to verify that the camera did in fact come with a USA manufacturer's warranty. Joe, said that the warranty was a USA warranty offered through TVSDepot, if I wanted the manufacturer's warranty, I would have to pay more. I pointed out that on their website the camera was being advertised as as having a manufacturer's USA warranty, not one offered third-party. I told Joe that I had just bought a Sony R1 from them a few weeks earlier and was pleased with my purchase. Joe said that there was only a $5 difference in the warranties, so he would sell me the camera at the advertised price. I agreed and Joe asked if I needed a memory card. I politely declined and Joe did not try to hard-sell me...thanks Joe. I was super happy that the camera shipped that same day which allowed me to have it for the weekend. I think many sellers underestimate the importance of timly shipping. So far, TVSDepot has delivered what they promised at the advertised price and both times with super-fast delivery which is greatly appreciated. I would also like to add that Joe was polite and professional the whole time.

"Like many others who have ordered from tvsdepot.com, I was lied to about shipping costs. I purchased a pair of speakers for $803.98 with "free shipping". The following day they called me to tell me that due to the weight, they would have to charge me an additional $59 for shipping which I agreed to. 2 days later they called me and said the speakers must come straight from the manufacturer which will cost an additional $50 and again I agreed. I then called my credit card to see just how much had been charged. Turns out they charged me $200 total for shipping!!!! I did not agree to this so I tried to stop the order but was not successful. I was so angry!! I finally got the speakers and one of them was slightly damaged. I will NEVER do business with them again! They are a fraudulent company! Please stay away from them, order from a more trusted site even if it costs more, you'll still save money. Tvsdepot WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!!"

"I feel I have to send in this review. I recently purchased a Panasonic plasma TV from this company. I later read the reviews and I have to admit I was extremely fearful of a bad outcome.
The salesman called the next day to "verify" my order. He tried to sell me cables and a warranty, but was not high pressure. He told me it would be shipped the next day. I received it one week later in perfect working order

Maybe I was lucky, but they don't seem to deserve the bad rap they're getting.

"Disaterous experience. Ordered 512 MB memory cards for cameras we bought for gifts ~ 3 weeks before our oversea trip. Shipped 256 MB cards. When I followed procedures and sent back the items for exchange, the replacement never showed up. I called 3 times in the week before our departure, and was promised replacement repeatedly, but I repeatedly did not receive any tracking information (ie, not sent). When I called 3 days before our trip on a Friday, they gave all sorts of excuses not to ship the items, and conveniently said to refund the money only. So, they wasted our time to order from other stores and we had to purchase these items right before our trip. They were rude, impatient, untrustworthy, and irresponsible. Never do business with them again."

"I did some research before placing an order with tvsdepot.com. The reviews suggested that it may be another "Brooklyn bait and switch" company. The price for my SONY camera was way the best on the internet. I figured I'd try- worst comes to worse, I'd cancel the order. I did get a call from the store offering accessories and it took a firm 'no' from me and the call was over within 30 secs. I thought "well, we'll see". To my surprise I received the camera the very next day! I live in CT but boy, that was fast. The camera was as expected, brand-new with all accessories.
I usually don't write reviews but I realy felt compelled to share my good experience. Those guys may be trying to straighten up their act.

"It's all a scam. I placed an order for a Sony LCD TV at a great price with free shipping. A few days later I was called to "confirm shipping information" and subsequently pushed to buy a warranty and accessories. After politely declining, I was told that the item would arrive in the next 5-7 days. About 30 minutes after hanging up the phone I received another call requesting to "confirm shipping information" AGAIN which was obviously not the point of the first call. After being asked what warranty I wanted to buy for the second time (it was the same 'sales rep') I informed him that I had spoken with him no more than 30 minutes prior... he recalled the conversation and said the item would be shipped. Two days later, the order was CANCELLED and I was told it was backordered 3 weeks - note that at this time their website showed the item as IN stock and listed for $50 more than the price I had placed the order at. You will not receive your order if you don't buy their warranty or accessories. Simple as that."

"TVs Depot seems to enjoy keeping the pot boiling. You are at an aggravation level of 10 from start to finish. First they charge your credit card immediately, even when they have no intention or capacity to ship for weeks ahead. You are lured to their website with "FREE SHIPPING". You place the order and get a call the next day that your TV is so heavy that you must pay $160 S&H fee. They insult your intelligence. They will never call or e-mail you on delivery progress as Customer Service is non-existent. They desperately attempt to increase the sale margin as they continuously lie to you about the status of your order. They also have a long review history of damaged deliveries. You have 24 hours to report it, or you own it. With their lies of "I'll call you back in a half hour" or "24 hours", it took me 4 months to write this factual review as I patiently waited for their promised responses---that never came."

"I have to give this site an excellent rating and here's why. I'm a software developer and I have no reservations when buying on the Internet (but I usually stick to sites I know or don't worry too much if I'm going to lose less than $100). I was fairly nervous when I started this process though because I had never heard of this site AND I was about to spend a lot of money. I wanted the new 40" Sony Bravia LCD (V40-XBR1). Best Buy sells it for over $3300. These guys had it for less than $2500. The tax would be more than the shipping ($160) where I live so the the savings was enormous. I ordered the TV and a $300 stand on Sunday. I got a sales call on Monday asking me if I wanted any cables or a warranty or expedited shipping, etc. I politely declined everything and was told my order would take 2-3 weeks. I figured the $900 in savings was worth it. My order status hadn't changed from "Order Received" by Wed. and I called back because I was still a bit nervous. I was told that my order had shipped and even got a UPS tracking #. My package showed up the following Tuesday (Monday was Memorial Day and they don't deliver on Sat.) I can't account for the miserable experiences of any others but I can say that tvsdepot saved me about $900."

"This is not a professional organization. I would venture to say that if you just buy one item only you are in trouble. They will get you in with a value price but if you don't buy accessories you will not get the time of day.They had a great price on a Canon 30d. I placed my order on a saturday and then received a call on Sunday. I was asked to buy the standard accessories. When I didn't buy anything the customer service associate was quick to hang up. I called back to make sure that the hang up wasn't a mistake. I was told the order would ship in 24-72hours.

I called back on Wed and talked with an associate who told me the item was backordered and would take a little bit of time. I told him I was ok with this.

I waited until Friday and called again to find out more. This time I was told I called monday and cancelled my order. This is not true.

Now I have decided to order elsewhere after telling the rep to officially cancel my order. NOTE: Their online ordering system still shows my order in the status of "order received"

"This seller is a joke. I order a DVD system, later on receive email to call them to confirm order then they try to sell me extended warranty which I refuse. Later on they confirm my order then cancel my order for no reason. Don't ever buy from these guys even with the lowest prices"

"I purchased a Panasonic Plasma TV from TVSdepot.com. They suggested I ship insured for an additional charge. We agreed to split the additional charge. A major concern with me was making sure I did not receive a defective TV. Many other co.'s have the stipulation that once you receive it, it is yours.
TVSDepot agreed via e-mail that I could use it for l4 days and if there was a problem they would replace it (we would split the shipping back), or refund the money if the TV was not in stock. The shipping co. was excellent. They brought the TV in and helped take it out of the box, making sure it was not damaged. It works fine and we are happy with the purchase.
I would not hesitate to buy again from this co. again if the price was reasonbly competitive, given the 2 week trial to make sure this expensive purchase was not defective, which most other internet co.'s do not offer.
