"IF ONLY I HAD FOUND THIS SITE LAST WEEK!!! TV AUTHORITY ARE CRIMINALS!!! We ordered a tv ($1,000) and paid $100. for 3-5 day shipping. Site said item had shipped. Was told by 'Aaron' that it would be in Miami Feb. 26, 2007. I decided to call the shipping Company (Mach 1) DIRECTLY (I had a tracking number, another thing that was like pulling teeth to get!) Was told item was never even released to them. Called on Feb. 27 to cancel and was told refund would take 24-48 hours. Still no money on card- now 51 hours. Here's what I did though**** When I cancelled I also started a buyer protection dispute with Mastercard, also now in hour 51 (even a debit card has this protection)They promise action in 5-7 days) I'm glad it's already two days in with that. I actually have e-mails from "James Agiesta' stating the refund was being processed. I printed out every e-mail including the ones I wrote to them. I contacted the BBB in their area (the BBB site will direct you) and filed a complaint. I will hear back from them within two days. I also am writing this, and will go to other sites and try to warn people. I also have a lawyer in the family who is ready to pounce (I know I'm lucky to have him- most people don't.) I think there are other agencies to contact-which I will. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THESE THIEVES STAY IN BUSINESS!!! By the way, I spoke with a woman at TV Authority a few hours ago who told me I was 'being rude' for asking for my money back! Ha! Can you imagine if someone had HER grand??? She PROMISED to send me proof of refund through e-mail in 20 mins. -that was an hour and a half ago. Also, no one is answering the phones (AGAIN) right now. I wonder why!
Quick question: Has anyone out there actually SEEN the supposed store in Santa Monica? I don't even believe they have one, they've lied so much!
And since I don't have my refund yet I am still very nervous. I feel violated and robbed!I will never buy anything over $25.00 online again-EVER!!!!! I may even contact one of those tv shows who confront bad businesses!!

"Unbelievably horrible expierence!!

Made a phone purchase with TV Authority on 01/22/07. The Samsung HDTV that I ordered was stated by the sales person Stephanie Moist to be in stock at the time I placed the order. They claimed a guaranteed delivery window 1 month away as being 02/12/07 - 02/14/07. That seemed a little long but, I decided to ride it out since Stephanie said it might be sooner. Also, most importantly they charged my credit card on the day I ordered 01/22/07 which should have raised a red flag for me but, you live and learn, right? On 02/08/07 2 business days before delivery I checked the status of my order on the TV Authority website and noticed no change in the status,no tracking information,nothing different since the day I ordered. I called customer service and after a 50 minute wait on hold I found out that the TV I had ordered and was told that it was in stock at the time I ordered was actually on back order and they said that they could not tell me when I could expect shipment. That information resulted in a call to Stephanie who ACTED surprised to hear that information. I asked if I could upgrade to a different model if it was in stock and could be shipped sooner. She offered an upgrade to the latest model of the same TV at no extra charge and said that she would get with the distrubution center for availability and get back to me on 2/14/07. She did not get back with me on 2/14/07 but did respond to an e-mail on 2/15/07 stating that the original TV I had ordered was in stock and would be sent out to me with no delay. She wrote that I would have tracking information by 02/016/07 and delivery no later than 02/23/07. I am writing this on 02/28/07 and have yet to recieve any tracking information. I have tried sales people Stephanie, Cambyrn with e-mails that I know they read because I recieved the read reciepts with no respones. I have left several voice mails with the customer service manager James Agiesta with no respone. I have spoken with Nicole Bisanti in Customer Service several times and have recieved nothing but excuses and one fact that the TV has not been shipped. She says she is in contact with the distibution center daily but has no idea why the TV has not been shipped and does know when it will be shipped. All I ever wanted was an update on the status of my order. This should not be asking too much. Should it? This by far the worst expierence I have ever had bar none when making a purchase. I too am in awe that this company is allowed to stay in business when it is clearly a scam. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges and start stop payment proceedings in order to get a refund. I will also be contacting the BBB of the greater LA area to file a complaint. I am taking steps to insure that everyone I can possibly alert knows DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TV AUTHORITY. They have a legitimate looking site and they are very helpful and friendly at first contact but, BEWARE they will charge your credit card and then all customary services will cease. Even thier customer service manager obviously could care less about customer service. I can only hope that I can get my money back and put this expierence behind me.

"AVOID THIS RESELLER!!!!! These guys are total charlatans. They will charge your card immediately and you will never see the product. Call your card company and have any charges reversed immediately if you have already ordered from them. They should be put out of business ASAP so that others do not have to go through hell as I have. I repeat: DO NOT ORDER FROM TV AUTHORITY!!! They are criminals."

"Your mileage may vary with this company, but from my experience this is the worst internet store I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is terrible because they never returned responses to my email inquiries and voice mail messages. On one occasion I waited on hold for 45 minutes only to have someone answer the phone and then immediately hang up on me.

On January 10th I placed an order with TVAuthority.com for a product as being advertised "in-stock". I was told the product would arrive between Jan 23 to Jan 25 and someone would contact me prior to the 23rd to schedule the drop-ship. My credit card was charged the same day as the order, even though the product had not shipped. On Jan 23rd, I never received a call to arrange for the drop-ship so I tried to contact them. After six unsuccessful phone calls, two email and three "website chat-line" attempts over a period of three days, I eventually reached them on Jan 25th. The customer service rep I talked to didn't know the status of my order and said he would need to contact the product's distribution center and get back to me on the 26th. On the evening of Jan 26th since I had not heard back from TVA on the distribution center status, a seventh phone call was made and after waiting on hold for 25 minutes I find out the product would not be delivered until Feb 14th because it is not "in-stock" even though the TVA website says it is.

In terms of the extended warranty purchased, on January 26th I received an email stating that this information had been shipped USPS. As of February 25th I still have not received it, my guess is because they never mailed it.

On February 1st I canceled the order with TV Authority due to lack of trust with the company (phone call number eight). When canceling the order I asked multiple times to the customer service rep to cancel both the product and extended warranty order. He tells me he will cancel both orders. I was promised the credit card charges would be reversed in 5 to 7 business days. On February 3rd after checking the order status on their website I realize that TVA canceled the product order but not the extended warranty so another phone call with a lengthy hold time was required (phone call number nine). During this call TVA stated they had already contacted my credit card company and the charges should be reversed on February 5th. On February 9th a tenth phone call was made to TVA to find out the status of my credit card charge-back because my credit card still shows the charge. They promised me they have already contacted the credit card company. On February 11th, I contacted my credit card company and they acknowledged that TV Authority never contacted them and I am forced to dispute the charges at this point. On February 17th I called the credit card company to verify if TV Authority ever contacted them and to their knowledge they never did.

Based from my experience these people will tell you anything to satisfy you and get you off the phone. Good luck getting an actual product.

"This has been a horrible experience. The company does not pick up the phone, respond to their alleged live chat on their website, return phone calls, or honor commitments (such as "I promise I will call you back tomorrow with a tracking #). What they do is charge your credit card immediately for the cost of your order. We have waited 6 weeks for a TV and will now cancel our order."

"Stay away from them! I purchased a plasma tv from this site last month because it came out to be a few hundred dollars less than everyone else. Not only have I not received this supposedly "in stock" tv, but there are no signs that I will ever receive it. After calling repeatedly and being on hold for hours, was guaranteed that I would have it from Feb 13th-15th. That never happened. My status still says "Processing- pending shipment" and it's been a month!! I tried again calling and emailing them- no response. Finally today I called my credit card to get a refund. Pay the extra money with another site and avoid this type of hassle. This was supposed to be an exciting purchase for is. We'd be saving up for a big plasma for months."

"I ordered an in-stock item as well - afer message after message to Cambryn, e-mails, trying to use the "Chat Live Now" feature with no success, I cancelled my order first by voice mail to Cambryn, then by e-mail to Cambryn (which I received confimation of her reading), then a voice mail to customer service, then a fax (I have confimation of that too) - two days later, nobody cancelled my order - they said they didn't get it. Now I can't seem to get my money back. I have opened a dispute with my credit card company and am opening a claim with the BBB. This is insane, I just want my money back. I will be sending all my documentation off. Don't buy from these people, I'm currently on hold right now trying to get a status of my refund - 45 minutes and still holding. "

"Deal with this company at your own peril.
They gladly took our order, promised (and charged us for) 2 day delivery, and never, ever shipped the TV - in over 2 weeks.
They NEVER answer their customer service line (4 hours to get thru).
They never do as they say (3 different people, on 3 different days, assured us "next day delivery").
They claim to have no supervisors to speak with.
I had to threaten a lawsuit - just to cancel the order.
If you do busines with these people - be armed with this very hard-to-come-by bit of information:
James Agiesta, Customer Service Manager X508.
You are going to need it - trust me.

"DO NOT ORDER FROM TVAUTHORITY!! I placed a pre-order by phone for flat screen TV that was out of stock. That same day I got an email confirming the order and saying that my credit card would not be charged until the item was ready to ship. Four days later my card was charged in spite of the TV still being out of stock. Repeated vmails and emails were ignored. After waiting on hold for 45 min. I was told the charge would be credited, but that didn't happen. After three weeks of waitng for the unauthorized charge to be credited, or to be notified that the TV was being shipped, I canceled the order. It's been a week since I canceled and still no refund. TVauthority has had unauthorized use of my money for a month. That's not just bad customer service; that's a scam. Don't be taken in by their low prices. It's just a way for them to get and keep your money."

"I placed this order and $3,559.99 was charged to my AMEX on 11/25/06. I was told that I would receive the order between Dec 12 -14. Not only have I never received my order but I have spoken to 3 different customer service people. I was told over 2 wks ago that I would finally receive my order and then it never showed up again. I then cancelled my order and got an email saying I would be refunded right away and he was personally overwhelmed. I have not been refunded. I am contacting the CA attorney State General's ofice as well as the dpt of Consumer Affairs to report this."

"I purchased a television on 12/20 which was labeled as "in stock" and after several weeks of not seeing it, I was told that they were waiting for shipment. Every time I called to check, I was told it should show up anytime. I got tired of waiting and decided to cancel and that was almost 2 months ago. I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN MY REFUND!!!! I've left several vmails and emails with NO response. Simply unbelievable. I have never in my life ever considered posting a review of anything, but I am so angered by tvauthority that I am now bent on touching every message board I can to expose the nighmare I have experienced with tvauthority. I will continue to post until I see a refund of my money which I have been continually promised each time I talk to someone on the phone there.

Bottom line: DON'T BUY FROM TVAUTHORITY AS YOUR PURCHASE WILL NOT BE "IN STOCK" AND YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED YOUR CANCELATION!!!!!

"Ordered a Samsung 61" DLP on 01/23/07. First given an expected delivery window of Feb 8 - 10. Called on Feb 5th as I still did not receive tracking info, and was told that order has not shipped and new delivery window set for Feb 18 - 20. Called Feb 17th, still with no tracking info, and was told to expect delivery March 5 - 7. Needless to say this company is incompetent and is a JOKE! STAY FAR AWAY FROM TVAUTHORITY! Their prices are cheap for a reason, to lure you in and then never ship your product! BBB notified, order cancelled, and I am contacting Samsung to let them know how great of an "Authorized Dealer" TVAuthority is of their products."
