Closest thing to a scam I've seen in a while

"I will not shop here or at any of their other sites again. Unfortunately, this is the only place you can read a real unfiltered review for statelinetack.com (and as you can see there are a lot of bad reviews) because they filter their reviews on the website and apparently the BBB gives them a free pass because they are paid members. I wish I would have done more internet searches for reviews before ordering. I had a terrible experience with this DISHONEST company. I placed my order on 7/16/2020 for a new fly sheet. The website said it was in stock and would ship 2-5 business days. They moved the shipping date twice all while it said it was in stock on their site. It is now 8/5/2020 and they sent me an email cancelling my order *SAYING THEY NO LONGER CARRY THE ITEM DESPITE IT STILL BEING AVAILABLE AS IN STOCK ON THEIR WEBSITE.* Before this, I sent two emails and made two phone calls to the company inquiring about the order. I received no response from the emails and could not get a person on the phone via their 'customer service' number. I can't believe the BBB 'accredits' this company and it shows how much you can't really trust BBB anymore either. Very disappointing on many levels. This company does not deserve your business. In the age of Amazon-level customer service this company doesn't even register on the map. I will spend my money elsewhere."

Horrible customer service

"State Line Tack refuses to cancel non-shipped orders!
Placed order & website stated it would ship in 4-6 days. Then I got an email saying that it would be 7-14 days. 14 days after placing the order, I got an email saying it would ship the following week--3 weeks from date of initial order. Wrote them requesting order be cancelled--no response. Called customer service at two week mark to cancel--they said it had shipped, then I told them that their email that same morning said a ship date a week from today. They stammered & said they would email the warehouse, but there was no guarantee that the order would be cancelled. What kind of business cannot cancel an order when notified by the customer? Any online business will cancel an order if it has not been shipped! State Line Tack seems to have shady business practices if they will not cancel an order that has not shipped!
My advice: order from another company that has reasonable customer service and honest shipping policies!

Be Wary, These Guys Play Hardball!

"Be wary, these guys play hardball. They advertise items as in stock when they are not. They accept your order and thank you for the order. And then the emails start explaining items will be delayed. One email, two email. three emails. Items are delayed for months. And then you give up & buy the stuff somewhere else and call them and email them and speak to their customer service representatives and they apologize and they tell you the order has not been put in the queue for processing yet... AND THEY SHIP THAT DAY. And they apologize again and swear they will have the package re-directed. But that is a lie, because that package is coming no matter what because they are keeping your money no matter what! And then I call to make sure it will be okay to refuse delivery.... And the manager says "she does not recommend that because if the item is damaged in transit, I will be responsible for the shipment"... And that is great and but my last seven shipments were damaged in shipping because they don't use packing and the items just flop around & the get destroyed. My last seven shipments. Like I said, they play hardball. They are going to get my money no matter what. So today I put in a complaint with BBB. And then I called State Line again and spoke to a supervisor. And after hearing their line of bull... again... I got mad and hung up. And now State Line is having the package 'held', not delivered, no returned, 'held'. I'm telling you these guys play hardball. So instead of getting my money back, they will have that package 'held' until my payment goes through and they will continue to play games. Because these guys play hardball and they will find a way to get you money, no matter what. Do not order from these people. "

"No return information in the box, no exchanges, no paid return shipping or even an optional shipping label, can't send you an email with return address & RMA (must write everything down yourself), phone wait time horrible. I hope I get my refund."

Return Shipping Policy

"I have done business with State Line Tack for years and have always been happy with the products sold at a competitive price. However, if you EVER need to return an item be aware the cost of either UPS or FedEx shipping to Hazelton PA costs a small fortune.
I recent purchased a new helmet and it was the wrong size. I called for an RA number but there was no return shipping label. I figured "o what the heck" and packed it up in its original box and went to the local UPS store. Even he was surprised at the cost of shipping. $47 and change to return a 3 pound box. That is almost half the cost of the helmet!

In the days of more and more online shopping the seller needs to be accept the fact that some articles are going to be returned and factor that into the equation. I am a proponent of Let the Buyer Beware. So please be aware of this return shipping policy and understand there may be high costs involved if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase here at State Line Tack.

Poor service

"Now, I understand there's a pandemic going on. I contacted them asking when I can expect my order to be shipped. I was told that shipping has been taking 3-5 days to get stuff sent out. Ok, that's fine. It's been literally a week and they still haven't shipped my order. Contacted them yesterday "we'll email the warehouse and have them ship it right out"... Nothing. Not a thing. And I can't just cancel the order. I have to wait until tomorrow to call because they aren't open on the weekends. Last time I ordered from stateline I swore, never again. But that was 2017 and I thought maybe they got their $hit together by now. NOPE. I wish I could block websites so I never have to see them again. "

Stay away from this company

"I bought an item from State Line Tack in November, and without my approval or knowledge, they put me on auto ship. As soon as I received the notice that they would be shipping me the item again, I requested cancellation the day before it was shipped. However they still shipped it to me anyway. When I called them, they said it I needed to accept the package, and ship it back to them. If I just refused it, they could not give me a refund. So I accepted it, then immediately shipped it back at my expense! That was 3 weeks ago, and they still have not refunded my money. With multiple phone calls to them, they keep telling me they are "behind in processing", and will take more time for the refund. I have gotten tired of this and just put in a dispute with the credit card company, which I should have done 2 weeks ago. This is not like Amazon which refunds you the money as soon as the return package is shipped. Will never do business with State Line Tack again, and will not recommend them. "

Poor shipping eta - won't cancel order if there's a 'pick ticket' at the warehouse

"Not sure what's going on with Stateline Tack but I've been ordering from them for years with very little complaint (except that Tough1 horse rain sheets are NOT water proof as advertised 4 years ago) until this past year. Three times in the past 6 months I've placed an order for horse supplements I needed fairly quickly and was given an expected ship date that did not occur. In fairness, the 2nd time it happened, they did cancel but it was because I called the same day I ordered. In this last instance, when I called customer service to cancel the most recent order last Friday with an est ship date of yesterday, Monday, but had not shipped, she said they 'couldn't cancel because there's a pick ticket in the warehouse' which I think is baloney unless they have a very poor, outdated ordering system. When I asked her when it was expected to ship she said 'likely today' with today being Tuesday. I did advise her very nicely that if the order has not shipped by tomorrow, I will demand cancellation of my order. I hate it because a lot of their products are pretty good at decent prices but their shipping and delivery is horrid. So, after this experience, I'll not order from them again."

Six Weeks to Order Cancellation

" I made a purchase nearly six weeks past, which was cancelled by State Line Tack two days ago. No communication in the intervening time, with the exception of two requests, from their third party survey site, for me to review a product I had NOT RECEIVED. The cancellation stated that the item I ordered is no longer carried - a fact that is either demonstrably false, as the product is still advertised on the site, or true and their advertisement of having this item blatent in its dishonesty. At the end of the day, I can buy this item somewhere else, for a price slightly higher than that claimed by SLT, and be guaranteed of receiving the item in a sensible time window - an experience far superior to saving a couple of dollars by gambling on ever-receiving the product, as I now understand an order to State Line Tack to be.

Noteably: In their customer satisfaction survey, there is a follow-up question asking about the "primary topic" of my comments. That the the first option under this question is 'backorders/out of stock' tells me everything I need to know about how this company operates.

Terrible Customer Service!

"Made an order with State Line Tack recently. As soon as I received shipping notification I noticed that the package was going to the wrong address. I immediately called them and talked with a rep about the problem. They said they would send the info up their chain of command and that i'd get a call back. I never got that call and the package was returned to the sender.

When i discovered this, i called them again to find what they were going to do now. Their whole attitude was that it wasn't a big deal that they hadn't called me back or tried to fix the problem and that i should just order again. no doubt I'll be doing that, BUT NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

Terrible Company - no regard to customer experience

"I SHOULD JUST WRITE "DITTO"! MY STORY IS SIMILAR TO MANY OTHERS. STATE LINE TACK ACCEPTED AN ORDER FROM ME ON DECEMBER 2ND FOR A PAIR OF BOOTS FOR MY DAUGHTER. THEY LISTED AS IN STOCK AND DIDN'T TELL ME THEY WERE BACK-ORDERED UNTIL CHRISTMAS. 6 WEEKS LATER I RECEIVE A BOX AND IT'S THE WRONG MERCHANDISE... SO I HAVE TO SHIP IT BACK AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CLOSED ON WEEKENDS, DESPITE THE INSTRUCTIONS SENT TO ME. IF YOU CAN NOT PROPERLY SET EXPECTATIONS WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS - STOP TAKING ORDERS!"

Poor customer service

"I have made a few orders from State my tack in the past. Never have been very impressed with the prices or how long the shipping takes. They had a sale and I ordered a Tough1 waterproof, turnout, sheet for my miniature horse a few weeks ago. I recently used it for the first time the other day. I placed it on my horse before turn out. I also have a run in that they can go in throughout the day. It rained a little bit that day. When I brought my horses in and remove the new Tough1 sheet he was completely soaked underneath from head to toe. This tells me that the sheet is not properly waterproofed. I contacted Stateline tack and told him about the issue. The representative basically explained to me that I was probably doing something wrong and didn’t know how to properly put a sheet on my horse. I have yet to receive another response and I won’t hold my breath about them doing something to correct an order and make it right. I will never order with them again. I will also never recommend them to anyone else. A lot of other websites have better pricing faster shipping and better customer service anyway!"

They sell product that they don't have!

"STATE LINE TACK ACCEPTED AN ORDER FROM ME ON DECEMBER 2ND FOR A PAIR OF BOOTS FOR MY HUSBAND'S CHRISTMAS GIFT. NOT ONLY DID THEY NOT HAVE THE INVENTORY AVAILABLE TO SELL (THEY ACCEPTED MY MONEY ANYWAY) BUT THEY STILL CANNOT GIVE ME AN EXPECTED DELIVERY DATE - ONLY THAT I WILL RECEIVE THEM IN JANUARY!!!!! I HAVE BEEN IN CORPORATE RETAIL FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A COMPANY ACCEPTING ORDERS FOR PRODUCT THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE WITHOUT STATING THAT THE PRODUCT IS ON BACK ORDER AT TIME OF PURCHASE!!! WHAT DO I GET NOW? "

Poor Customer Service

"Rude customer service staff. "
