"Same experience as many others that have complained about this vendor .. I called to check availability , then placed order ( I was told that the camera was in stock and available to ship ) .. they sent a confirmation number , I was instructed to call to complete order.. On hold for 10 minutes , then connected with a rude , high pressure sales person trying to sell me an overpriced battery and charger.. I declined on the "one time" offer to buy the extras. I received an e-mail notifaction a short time later stating that the product had been oversold and the order was cancelled.. Beware, this is a rude bunch of lowlife's looking to suck people in ! "

"Just like all the other reviewers on this post I have to agree. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. I ordered a SLR camera on Sunday Dec.20. I got the email telling me my order had been received and to call to confirm. I called on Monday, Dec 21 and spoke to a man about my order. He said he needed the 3 digit code on my credit card to be able to "send my order thru". I questioned this and he said that they have been asking for this for 3 years and I was the first person to question him about it. I gave the number and then asked him if this item was in stock. He wanted to know if I wanted it shipped to arrive before Christmas. I told him no that after Christmas was fine. I expected that they had several items to go out and this was not a Christmas present. He told me it would ship on Monday, Dec. 28. At around midnight, on the 21st, I checked my email and found that my order was "canceled". The explanation was that the item was "backordered" and that it would take 6-8 weeks so they "canceled" the order. They alos said that I would be placed on their "watch list" and would get updates from them.

Whatever you do stay AWAY from this place.

"I ordered a Nikon d3000 from them and got a confirmation for the order. Two days later I got an e-mail saying the item was backordered. I have no problem with the product not being available after reading all the reviews but I am concerned that they have my credit card info. DO NOT USE THESE SWINDLERS. If the price is really cheap it's too good to be believed. DON'T."

"BAIT AND SWITCH!!! I ordered 2 Canon lenses and a Canon 2x extender from them. They had one of their people call to try to switch me to a Sigma lens for one of the 2 I ordered. I told him several times that I had done my research and knew what I wanted until he finally stopped and hung up. 2 days later I fet an email that they are cancelling my order due to a backorder. I have already filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General. Do NOT buy from them!"

"OMG... I am so worried about this transaction now. I ordered a camera on 12/9, and was told 12/10 that the camera was on backorder and they pushed a "package" price for nearly 2x the price I had originally planned to pay. I declined and asked for my order to be cancelled. The rep asked me to hold and my call was transferred to another line with a recording informing me that they were closed...I called back immediately and I believe I was speaking to the same rep, although he denied being so. I asked again to cancel my order, he confirmed that it was canceled, then abruptly hung up. I waited about 10 minutes and called back, this time hearing a different voice from a rep. I informed him that I wanted to verify again that my order was canceled, he responded sharply with "Yeah, its canceled, but don't you want to buy that camera"? I politely replied NO...He then hung up...I AM SO SCARED THAT THESE PEOPLE HAVE MY BANKING INFO..THEY SOUND LIKE SCUM AND SCUM ARE CAPABLE OF MUCH WRONG DOING...BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE...I only wish I had know of this site first "

"This is a bait-and-switch operation. I ordered a Canon SD780IS camera because of the low price offered online. Received a phone call the following day from a salesman. He claimed he was calling to get the security code from the back of my credit card, but he then tried to sell me a flash memory card, an upgraded camera battery, and an upgraded battery charger for the camera. Incidentally, Canon includes a battery and charger with the camera. When I told him that I had flash cards and had ordered spare batteries elsewhere, he hung up the phone on me. Within minutes, I received an email stating that the camera had been oversold, was backordered, and that my order had been canceled. In other words, you cannot order just the item you want from this company. I'm sure that the camera would have been available if I had ordered some of the other accessories that were being pushed. Don't bother dealing with these people -- They're just a bunch of ripoff artists."

"I wish I had found this site before yesterday. Everything that has been said is true. I was lured by the baited low price for the Canon T1i and was so excited. Then last night I get a call from Merf/Merv. In a thick eastern (NY?) accent he says he wants to verify the order - which I had already done earlier. He checks the address and then asks for the 3 digit security code on the back of my card to put the charge through. I'm concerned because I paid for 2nd day air and it should have gone out already. He says he'll send it next day air to ensure I get it on time. Then he proceeds with the pushy "you didn't really get what you need" kind of talk. He asks if I know the difference between the wholesale model and the retail model, tells me I'm getting the wholesale and it will cost me $400 to have it formatted. Say what!? He tells me the lenses will take poor pictures, that it doesn't come with a battery, and on and on. The more we talk the more beligerant he gets. I'm thinking I'm having a bad dream. Then he switches and says the warehouse can't ship second day air and that they will have to ship ground and we have a whole stupid interchange about that. Like suddenly they are on backorder. These people are clearly crooks. After the bad phone call I researched and found this site. Luckily no charges had been made yet. I went to my account online. No orders existed. They told me they were cancelled. Frankly, I was greatly releaved. It's too bad there are crummy people like that out there. Stay away!"

"My experience in dealing with this merchant is the same as the other reviewers--Bad. I ordered a camera today. I received a confirmation number. About three hours later i received a message that the item is out of stock. Of course the camera is still being advertised, at a substantially higher price. "

"I am so thankful that I read these reviews before making a purchase. After visiting their website, it seemed so much like the company I ordered my D40x from a few years ago. Maybe it's the same people with a different name. They too gave me the run around about the batteries and charger. They talked me into a kit that included filters, tripod & camera bag. It was cheap stuff. There was a lot of haggling back and forth before they replaced the defective or missing items. thanks for taking the time to write the reviews. You saved me a lot of trouble!"

"UPDATE: 10-27-09
I just wanted to add that after refusing the shipment (no clue what was really sent to me and at this point don't care), sending several e-mails, I did receive a full refund within 7 days but I truly believe this is because I took all the necessary actions (dispute with CC company & complaint through BBB) to get them to do this with no further hassle.

Okay - ditto ditto ditto to all prior reviews, heard it all from these scammers.
unfortunely, read all this after the fact & indeed have become a victim.
In hind sight all the red flags were there from the beginning with price and then the phone call - lord help me! how did I fall for all that -another kick in the butt.
Tried 3 calls within 1hr. of placing order to cancel the order, heard all the crap that others have mentioned, politely got off on both phone calls after 30-45minutes each, giving them the impression all was good and I would wait to get the package.
Well, I refused the shipment today as I intended to do all along.
I've also already filed a dispute with cc company

Personally, I do not want to speak to them again and have sent an e-mail stating I will accept the charges for the shipping insurance (74.95) but that is it (no restocking fee) and if no refund on my cc withing 7 days I will continue with the cc dispute & they can deal with the cc company.

Not even sure what I might have received (used, grey market ???), might have been the real mccoy(usa) but if so then I figure I was overcharged by some 400 dollars after much ado to get a copy as to what my order details were after THE phone call. After comparing prices of what I supposedly ordered, this is were I figure if all real it comes to approx. $400.

Oh, by the way - Not only was there no follow-up e-mail, I then went to check my order on their website (no more than an hr. after THE phone call)under "my account", guess what? and still showing this today "You have not yet made any purchases." - still kicking myself in the butt -
So, anyways I will not speak to them again & if no refund in a week, they can deal with the cc company.

Can anyone follow-up with how their refunds went - did you get them, how long, what exactly was charged etc..

"Watch out! Ordered a Camcorder on-line. They sent me an e-mail for me to call them and confirm my order. After several attempts I got through to whoever. After assuring me product was new they asked me if I want a battery for the camera and said they had several from about $80 to $129. I thought he was joking! When I told him I never heard of a camcorder not being sold without a battery he started accusing me of being a reseller and giving me some Mafia type pressure for me to buy a battery. After confirming with the Canon website that it is supposed to come with a battery. I called and canceled the order. I feel like canceling my credit card I used to make the purchase, don't buy from these guys. They are under investigation from the authorities. Don't Buy!!!!!"

"On Sept 8 I ordered a Canon EOS digital camera body from SkyPointDigital. On Sept 9 I reveived an e-mail asking me to call the store to confirm the order. I called twice that day and was put on hold for several minutes both times and I hung up each time. I e-mailed them explaining that I HAD called and asked them to just confirm the order and ship as ordered. Sept 14 I received an e-mail stating that the order had been canceled because they had over sold. Guess what - it is still listed on sale. What was their plans for me if I had stayed on the line????? They can't be trusted. "

"I'd like to suggest that no one orders anything from this site. I simply did a google for 'digital rebel t1i lowest price' and they are the first ones that come up with a price of 579.00. I called to make sure the item was in stock and then ordered it from their website. I was emailed an order number and was also told in the email to call them and confirm the order. The sales guy tried to sell me a battery pack that you can get for 15 dollars most places, for 150 dollars. He told me the battery that came with the camera only lasts 15 minutes and was a 'starter battery', and that i should buy the 150 dollar 2 hour battery pack from them. I told them i didn't need it. Got an email today stating my ordered was canceled because they were oversold on the item. I didn't fall for this for even a split second after reading the email. They are very deceiving and try to squeeze a lot of money out of you for items that actually cost a fraction of the price anywhere else. "

"Like all of the reviews that I read on this website I have fallen victim to Sky Point Digital's bait and switch tactics. I placed an order with Sky Point Digital for a Canon Rebel XSi with an 18-55mm lens kit for $539. I received the phone call the next day to confirm the order and I received the same salesman speech telling me that what I ordered did not include a battery or charger or any interfacing cables but that I could get all of that with a special package for ONLY $899. I thought that what I had seen on Amazon included everything and it was still under $650 so my gut was telling that something was not right. I got the salesman's name and direct extension (Mike, extension 7014)and I told him that I wanted him to email me an itemized list of the products that he was trying to sell me so I could research the items first. He told me that he'd have it to me within the hour...that was exactly a week ago and I still have not seen it. They did, however, ship me the merchandise and they have charged $899 to my credit card. Before calling Sky Point Digital this morning, I called my credit card company and told them the story. I told them that I wanted to return all of the merchandise to Sky Point Digital and I wanted Sky Point Digital to issue me a full credit. I was nervous though because the shipping slip says that if I return the merchandise, there is a MINIMUM 10% restocking fee and the refund would exclude all shipping fees. The credit card company said that they could file a dispute, but they have to abide by the company's return policy and would not be able to prevent him from charging me the restocking fee. So I called Mike at Sky Point Digital and told him that I felt like I had been scammed. Mike quickly transferred me over to customer service. Kevin at customer service gave me the run down on why what I got was a good deal. I told him that I was looking at Amazon at that exact moment at the exact same merchandise for $629. Believe it or not, he actually got onto to Amazon's webpage while I was on the phone and confirmed that he saw what I saw! He told me that I could return the merchandise but he would have to charge me $180 for shipping fees and restocking!!! That does me no good, it's a waste of my time! So for now, I'm filing a dispute with my credit card company to pay only the amount that originally agreed to and not for the full $899. "
