Unprofessionally Yours, Skates.com

"First:
One needs to know that this company operates under two website names (at least): Skates.com AND Rollerskates.com. Try keeping your distance from both of them.

My first experience was from Skates.com; and after which I was very dissatisfied with the customer service and slightly with the product I ordered, I made an order with Rollerskates.com - believing this was another company offering skates and more. They are one in the same! Click on any description link from the Rollerskates.com site and you will be directed to the Skates.com page (which has a different look). Both transactions were done in a poor and unprofessional manner. Carol has always been the person who would correspond with me via e-mail. And in what horrid manner she addresses her customers - regardless of formality on the customer's end! I will paste two e-mails in here so that you can see the lack of professionality. But first, I ordered a new boot from Sure Grip on Skates.com. The picture depicted a boot with 4 upper hooks for quick and easier fastening of shoe laces. I receive the boot without any hooks. I contacted the company about that, because that is what I expected and there was no info about there not being any more boots with hooks in existence. You can guess that Carol did not give a puck *pun*. There was no professional response or apologies w/small discount or any offers for returns made.
Next, I ordered a Quad Stop back brake from Rollerskates.com (same company, remember? I just did not know at the time) and paid on the 22nd of July. Funds for that were deducted on the 24th and I still had not received anything come the 2nd of August (today). I emailed them on the 1st, asking where my order is. Carol again responds (the day afterwards) that the company sent my order to another customer and proceeded to attempt starting what seemed to be some analytical questioning of what kind of skates I already have...
Tempting....No! I simply responded with a request for refund back to my account. Read below. In closing, this company is not organized, not professional, advertise false free shipping on items and indeed charges shipping, and operates under two websites (without alluding to the fact that they are affiliated with one another).

I just got my order today. thank you for very fast shipping! I ordered the sure grip 1300 tan suede boot in Mens 11. Everything seems fine, except that I thought that the picture depicts 4 hooks for fastening at top.I thought that was what I was getting. My boots do not have them. Is there a price difference for the ones with the hooks as opposed to the ones without? My order # 267011.

The boots now use holes instead of hooks - the holes are stronger and don't get caught on clothing. The price has not been raised.

I ordered one back roller skate brake (QuadLine - streamline) from Rollerskates.com (which links to your site: Skates.com every time I click on order information or any description link on that site). I ordered on July 22, 2017 and have still not received them. Could you please tell me where my order is? I cannot track the order, since I do not see my purchase listed under My order history on your site. I have the Paypal receipt and my bank acct shows that a payment of $27.70 was deducted on the 24th of July and paid to *SKATES COM*. The Paypal transaction ID# is 95F65#####.

"Ordered a pair of Girl Ice Skates. Granted, I was aware that I was cutting it close to Christmas, but I received an email from Skates.com saying that they received my order. 4 days later, I had not received a tracking number, so I decided to call them. I tried using the number from the email- disconnected. Used the one on their website- first try, went to voicemail, which I left a voicemail. Second time I called- got someone, this person said I should be receiving a tracking number in an hour, otherwise, to call back. Hour later, I get a call back saying that the manufacturer doesn't have the skates at all. The manager I was speaking with offered a refund or something comparable, which at this point, to rush the order, I'd apparently be responsible for the extra costs. So, not only did they fail to follow up with me that the item was not available, but now I was going to be responsible for the potentially comparable item to be expedited. Extremely poor customer service. Will never shop here again."

"Ordered 3pair of childrens figure skates- all Riedell.
Was to be two day ship.
Shipping was stated as free on site but I had to pay over $22 to ship. At about the two or three week mark I received one message via voicemail to call them re my order no other information was left. Then I began to try to contact them to find out what was wrong......
Over a dozen phone calls and none returned and a month later still no skates and no explanation and no returned phone calls, I left messages each time. Called credit card company and cancelled charges. Will not order here again nor recommend to other skating - hockey families! Kids very disappointed for false advertizing and no skates to skate in this spring!

"DO NOT buy from this website! This is TRULY the WORST online ordering and customer service experience I have ever had! I can't believe these guys are still in business. I wouldn't have ordered from them in the first place, but they were the only website who claimed to carry the skates I wanted. A few days after I placed my order I got an email with my shipping confirmation saying they were sending the wrong skates. I called to see what was going on. The initial customer service rep was argumentative and confused. He eventually transferred me to his "manager" (her name was Carol) who told me we had talked the day before and I had told them it was okay to send a different model of skates because the others were out of stock. There was no such conversation. She got VERY argumentative, rude, uncooperative, personally offensive and even called me a "dick"! I wish I had recorded this conversation. It was so insanely ridiculous it would have gone viral.

Along with the many other bad experiences mentioned on here mine was horrible. I am still waiting for the refund I was told I would get, so who knows if I will even get my money back.

"Ordered a package deal for roller derby; my helmet was too big so I sent back for a smaller size. It has been a week since they have had my helmet per my tracking information. I have called 4 times and have sent an email and all I get is "we will call you back" and guess what they don't ever call you back. I'm now going to have to spend more money to order a helmet from another company because I'm pretty sure they are never going to send it to me. I will never order anything from them again and will tell all my derby girls to never order from them either."

"Worst online buying experience ever. I tried buying my daughter some inline skates 2 weeks ago, with the shipping arrival date being within 2 days. This last week, I've called multiple times trying to get an answer. Friday morning I was told I would get a call hack the same day. Never happened. I called today AGAIN, Monday, was told I would get an answer back in 20 minutes. An hour later I called back and the person whom sounds confused or higher than a kite, tells me they don't have those skates. So its refund time and I am buying from Walmart. It's hard to support small business when corporations are so reliable. Do Not Buy From Here!"

"The worse experience ever. They advertised an item in stick but really don't stock skates. Item was being drop shipped and was no longer available. I tried emailing and calling for tracking info and they were impossible too get intouch with. After a week of not being able to contact skates.com I called the manufacturer of the skates I ordered to see if they could call the company and see if skates.com was a credible company. I read a lot of bad reviews about them and one saying they were closed.
The manufacturer contacted them via email and I got a confirmation from skates.com that my order was canceled. They didn't try to clarify the issue or try too offer me a different product.
Three weeks has since past and my credit card hasn't been credited back for the skates yet and J Dawg from skates.com has washed his hands of trying to figure out where my money is.

DO NOT BUT FROM THESE PEOPLE.

My next purchase will be made through InlineWarehouse.com

"Very poor to non existant customer service. We ordered on pair of skates for one of my twin daughters from Skates.com and one from Netskates. The netskates were out of stock on the type of skates but called us to have the order amended the very next day and we recieved them in two days. After repeated unanswered status calls and emails to skates.com we heard nothing for 12 days. Both phone numbers listed go to a full message box where you can't even leave a message and forget about chat lines or email responses from Skates.com.
After credit card dispute and numerous emails with no reply skates showed up today. No plans on my behalf to reply to them, just as returned non courtesy.
I would not recommend Skates.com to anyone and am still amazed they are in business after all the reviews i have read dating back years.

"Overall: Satisfied!
Customer Service: Live help usually offline, haven't tried calling, but email service is prompt and pleasant.
Shipping: Rollerblade Fury model, processing-5 business days. shipping-full weekend, UPS from White River Junction, VT to Los Angeles, CA...arrived Monday.
Product Quality: dented packaging, comes with two small L-wrenches, minor paint smudges on skates (6 marks total), nothing that would be worse than the wear that will result from using the skates anyway.
I was initially drawn in by their coupons. Subscribe to newsletter BEFORE shopping, and wait maybe a couple of weeks for a good deal to apply to your order if you can. I had 12%off using Pumpkin12 for the pre-Halloween season savings by waiting one week.
I was afraid because I read these reviews AFTER ordering, and maybe their customer service is bad, but in my one case, I did not encounter any atrocity. The only complaint I would have is the 24-hour shipping they advertise. These blades took way longer than other websites. But now that they are here, I am pretty much super satisfied. I have only tried them for about 4 runs, so far so good. If you are in a rush, try inlineskates.net. My friend got his "Rollerblade Spark 84 Mens Inline Skates 2012" within 24 hours of submitting payment, but it might depend on the products. For sure I know the size I wanted was unavailable at local stores, so maybe they had to make it from scratch. However, my skates were lowest priced at skates.com vs other sites and stores even before adding coupon codes.

"I ordered some boots and was happy with the product. They actually told me it would take upto 4 weeks for the custom colors I was getting, but I ended up getting them in about 2 weeks. If my local skate shop doesn't have what I need, I will probably use them again. Also the day after I placed the order online a woman called to confirm my color/pattern choice because I had made an error online. Appreciated the customer service."

"Very disappointing...they wasted my time. I ordered a set of K2 Athenas on their website for $85 plus pads and bearing lube. Their website said they had size 9 in stock. I called them to verify before placing the order. They said they definitely had size 9 in stock for the $85 price. I placed the order. Three days later I got an email asking me to call them. I did and they said they didn't have the pads I ordered but would I accept a different brand. I said that would be fine. They said the skates we're in stock and the order would be shipped right away. Three more days and I get another email to call them. Now they tell me they don't have the skates in stock!! They we're unwilling to sell me this year's model for the same price, even though 3 different times they told me they had the $85 model in stock. I cancelled the order. One week wasted."

"I ordered 2 pairs of skates 9 days ago, they've collected my money but is telling me they don't have available stock. When asked for a date, was told they do not have the skates now and can't ship immediately. The only solution they had for me is to change my skates or refund me. And since I refused to change my order or get a refund, I just have to wait. Their website lies, it states availability as usually ships in 24 hours but for international shipping, they will have to wait for manufacturer to send to them first before re-shipping out to international customers. But I've waited for 9 days and still no updates. Don't waste your time ordering from them."

"Like nearly all the other reviewers I should have read the reviews also. I ordered a pair of Skorpion skates with Bone bearings, and I asked at the time of the order for the original bearings to be included with the shipment. The skates arrived with the new bearings installed and no sign of the OEM bearings. I emailed them twice and they did not send the OEM bearings. They shipped fast but not well packed, as the box was crushed a little when it arrived. Trying to warn others, I then entered a review of the skates on their web site but they did not post it. Like others here in the reviews, I wanted to return the skates but they did not accept them because I rode them on carpeting. Also I think because they installed the Bones bearings and did not have the OEM bearings to restore the skates they sold me. For me I now have been burned and will check out any skate store here first before making another $200 mistake. Another nail in the coffin is skates.com does not actively participle at resellerrtings.com, that should tell you something."
