"Spent $103.17 on two pairs shoes that my husband really wanted. He’s been anxious for some decent shoes! So we placed this order just to be told a week or so after that one of the pairs he ordered was out of stock. That’s it, no info as to which ones, just that they are out of stock. So we played the waiting game to see which pair would arrive. Finally, we get them just to find out they aren’t the right size. We ask about a refund or exchange (we’d be happy to get the same pair in the right size). The answer was “sure but you’ll have to pay for shipping to return them”. So let me get this straight... we spent $103.17 on this order which included $13 shipping costs, just to find out we have to spend another $25 on shipping them back ourselves. WOW talk about horrible customer service. Breaking it down we are now going to be paying $60+ for shoes that were $45 and we won’t even have a pair or shoes to show for.
Coming from many years of retail and customer service myself, to now owning my business, all I can say is good luck to you guys. You clearly are behind on the times with your customer care and order policies. I checked the site and not one single policy is listed stating the customer would be liable for shipping costs on the return.
My advice - don’t order online from here. You’ll be thankful you didn’t. "
"Terrible terrible company for buying overseas they failed to mention the import tax anywhere on their web page or at checkout and after paying 50 dollars for jeans and a further 22 dollars for delivery I was then told my package was being held until I paid a further 22 dollars to the courier. I will not be buying from them again as theyre staff were extremely rude and unhelpful I would advise anyone to avoid them completely and should you order from here expect to pay for delivery twice"
"I found the best deals for everything I needed on their website and made a pretty large order, which included the free shipping option. After paying for everything I decided to go on the internet and check their reviews. Most of them were negative and that made me stressed out almost every single day waiting for my package. It took them about a week to get everything ready and another five days to deliver it to my place. Everything I ordered arrived in perfect condition. I must say I saved a lot of money ordering from them instead of any other place and that made me give them 5 stars and post this review, because the company surely deserves it."
"I ordered 3 pairs of osiris skate shoes from Skate America on approx the 26th of March .... I live in Australia and normally only buy through ebay if the website isn't based in my own nation in case of hassles. I was a little worried as a first-time buyer and googled reviews after my purchase. I had paid with PayPal so I had made my mind up after reading these worrying reviews that i would cancel my order in a fortnight if my order had not chnaged from "processing" to "tracking" (with FedEx) .... it turned to "tracking" in 48 hours though ! Whats more - I have all 3 pairs of shoes (that I haven;t been able to find anywhere else) - they are exactly as advertised. All 3 exactly the same size (US11.5) .... and were here in like a week since placing first order !! All my worry and anxiety was for nothing on this. In my gratitude to them and to reassure others - I am posting an honest experience that has just happened to myself. Seller had tracking. Whatsmore.... if you purchase using PayPal ... they cover you if you up to a month or something. I'd contact business a fortnight in and if not appropriate response demand money back from PayPal which is easy and notify the business. I certainly didn;t have to do that. Was here before I knew it - about a week - and I am in a different hemisphere and Pacific Ocean away. 5 Stars Skate America !!!!"
"First off they advertise that they will process your order right away as long as its placed before a certain time. Let me say thats false. It took them 4 days to tell me a backpack was out of stock. Then another 3 days to process my new order with no backpack just the refund. All automated customer service so no real help. Going on 11 days since my order was placed and its still not here. I understand they offer free shipping but China sends me stuff quicker than SkateAmerica. I will never order a thing from this website again. Their selection is BS and they dont even carry anything of quality...that is if its even in stock after you hit order. A friend recommended this site as they had some steals on decks but the funny thing is they only had three options for that price. Good luck if you make a purchase from SkateAmerica. I will update when I get my order if they completely bombed it."
"Ordered a deck and parts as a birthday gift. Sent me the wrong deck, acted like I was inconveniencing them by wanting the deck I actually paid for. Customer service was absolutely no help and not even an apology for screwing up what was supposed to be an exciting birthday gift. Deck I actually ordered was sold out. Worst experience. "This is my local shop in Simi Valley and they have everything you could ever want. They have a lot in their showroom but tons more in the warehouse. I asked about all the bad reviews and they said they bought the company in 2012 and the previous owners didn't care about customers or customer service. I am glad they bought the company because they have a ton of skateboards and shoes at really really cheap prices. These are good guys to buy from. "

"I've read several bad reviews about Skate America. I recieved my order abound week later and the only problem I had was a pair of $6 sunglasses were not in my order. I even had a question about a problem and even though their phone lines were down I sent in email and they sent me a promp friend email and resolved the issue. I will buy from them in the future and am confused as to why they have had such bad reviews in the past. I read these reviews after I made my order and was worried until my order came in and all my worries were set at ease."

Then it took 4 emails, 4 phone calls, and over 2 months to get a refund for the discontinued shoes they should not have charged us for in the first place."

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE! I regret not doing my research first and reading all the negative reviews about this store prior to making a $200+ order. I ordered 5 shirts and a pair of shoes - almost 3 months later I have only received ONE item (tshirt. In between there was all this crap about shirts being discontinued, unable to be shipped etc.
Emailing customer service is a joke and a waste of time. Needless to say, I do not expect the rest of my order to arrive.
