"Do not buy from these people, you will never receive your merchandise or money back from them. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company and district attorney's office. My order was for over $300 too. The clothes and shoes look nice but it is all a scam. BUYER BEWARE!!"

"What a mistake! I received a catalog in the mail stating that Simply Be is "now in the US." Great, never heard of them but the clothes in the catalog looked fantastic. They were a little pricey but I thought I'd treat myself to a couple of pieces.

Free shipping, you say? Fantastic! 20% new orders? Even better! The only thing they left out is the international finance charge that will hit your credit card along with the duty you have to pay at the post office. I ordered four items (~$200 with discount) and paid almost $50 in duty and international financing charges. Are you kidding me?!

When I finally picked up my package (after shelling out the duty at the post office) I took it home to hope it was all worth the trouble. I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong! The clothes looked awful compared to how they looked in the catalog. The material was flimsy. Out of four pieces, I only kept a poncho.

Horribly disappointed. For all of the money I spent (and duty money I'll never get back) I expected WAY more. The company also needs to be more upfront about the duty charge. I found it buried in their website.

My message to Simply Be? Go back to where you came from!

"For some reason I did not check this store's reviews before purchasing and I usually do. After reading about the horrible shipping delays from packages coming into the US (I'm in California), I called, probably within 4-5 hours after placing the order. I called the 1-877 number listed on their website AND wrote an email to cancel my order. I received an email stating that my email to them was delayed. WHY? Who the hell knows. MAybe their mailbox is full of complaints like mine! The CSR I spoke with said she was going to go ahead and cancel the order but it wasn't guaranteed. Like what? She said it's because the cancellation order has to go to the UK and it's whatever happens THERE that determines if the order is cancelled. There are 2 things wrong with this -- 1. This is not the stone age and we do not have to wait months for a messenger to hear a reply. Communication within the same company, despite different countries, should be just that.. COMMUNICATION. So I smell some BS already. 2. IF the CSR can indeed put a cancellation notice on my order, WHY would the UK people, NOT SEE IT, when they, say, open the order to pull the product, WHY will they NOT SEE the order has been cancelled. SimplyBe US and its headquarters in UK seems to not know what the other is doing. Unacceptable. I asked the CSR about the customs fees, etc and she said it was refundable. But even that I'm skeptical. I wish I had learned from the others on here about this company's awful customer service policies and shipping nightmares. As of now, I still have received neither a cancellation email nor a shipping email, as I was told I could receive either or, despite the CSR putting a cancellation on my order #. These people are ridiculous. "

"I wanted to love Simply Be. I am in the US and I am not a complainer. This is my exception.Do not order from this company. The catalog merchandised the garments beautifully. That is where the good ends. I did not research the company before I ordered (my big mistake. Since ordering I have found nothing but (very) poor reviews of Simply Be. I concur. Delivery was a nightmare, slow, separate parcels, one help at US customs, leaving me to pay over $50 in tariff fees, many items were back ordered. The items that did arrive of are poor quality for the price. Yes, some are cute, but poor quality fabric and workmanship, loose threads showing, sequins on a garment were described in catalog as "beaded". On August 27, I ordered a dress and a matching (but separately priced) shrug. The shrug arrived, though I had to go to the post office to pick up in a "reasonable" amount of time. The dress is still listed as "back ordered". The event I wanted the dress and shrug for is 10/1; I requested cancellation of the dress and am returning the shrug. Both have been a nightmare. The customer service agent (phone) stated she would request cancellation but if item has shipped I will need to return item, losing a restocking fee plus return shipping! On line I checked and the dress if listed as "out of stock" in every size! Yet Simply be can not confirm cancellation. I could go on and on,,,but just know every aspect of this shopping experience has been poor. I repeat, do not do business with this company.

"Never use ... Took for ever ... The order-taker took all my info down wrong ... The sizes were insane I ordered a DDD 32 and it fit my sister who is 5 feet tall 102 lbs and a b cup just to see if I was crazy.. The top I ordered is a cheap fabric and low price point with a price that is hiked way high ... The photo and the top too very different items ... The rest is on the way and I will go right back I'm sure ... FYI I was on back order and I was never told that .. I'm sure it will be quite sometime until I get my money back ... It's a shame o was both proud and happy to see a company like them ... What a let down ! :("

"This is about their American site.

I placed my order on 12/23/10 and just got it today, 2/3/11. I called twice and both times they said it was held up in customs due to some Homeland Security thing in the UK. I understand how that goes, but the second call was yesterday and he said that it hadn't even been shipped, and lo and behold, here it is. Both items fit and were cute, but customer service was clueless. If there was going to be a holdup, they should have sent out an e-mail or posted a notice on their site, neither of which they did.

I love their clothes, but most of them are totally out of stock or out of stock in my size (12). Since they had free shipping and returns, I am a lot less likely to gripe and I will probably do business with them again...eventually.

"I had a terrible experience with this store. The initial order hadn't arrived by 14/12/2009 so I phoned to chase it up. I was told that that the courier had tried to deliver the items on 2 occasions and no-one was home, so they left cards. This was a lie - I was home for one of the 2 days, and no cards had been left at all. It then emerged that Simply Be are unable to contact the courier. They are also unable to take complaints by telephone or e-mail. All complaints have to be made in writing.

Because the order had not arrived by Thursday 17/12/2009, they advised that I place a new order. I tried to do this on the telephone, but when I looked at my account to confirm this the next day, there was no sign of the order. A followup call confirmed that they had been unable to place the order because of 'system problems'. I then placed the order again online.

On Friday 18/12/2009, the courier delivered the item to my home around 20:00. I tried to cancel the replacement order online, but found that there is no mechanism on the site to cancel this. I called them again and was advised that they cannot cancel an order on the same day that it is placed - I was advised to call back the next day.

I called the next morning quite early and cancelled the order. On Monday 21/12/2009, the order was shipped despite being cancelled. My card was charged again.

At this point, I have 2 charges for the same products to my card, and I have had to make over a dozen calls to an 0870 number at significant cost to myself to resolve the issue. I now have to incur additional cost posting the items back.

Their service staff are rude and unhelpful, and their systems are designed to create problems. Had they simply been able to provide me with contact details for the courier, or contact the courier themselves, none of this saga needed to happen.

I'll never shop there again.
