Didnt get what I paid for

"I ordered a hat with a chin strap for my three-year-old granddaughter's birthday. They were very quick to process my credit card payment. But now I'm dealing with delayed responses of thank you for your patience it will be a few days to check with the warehouse. My grand daughter's birthday's in 2 days and I needed this hat for her rodeo she won't wear it for fear that it will fall off. So I'll have to make do with something"

HORRIBLE!!!

"Ordered a pair of boots that were too small. Sent them back. After nearly 2 weeks I hadn't heard anything so I emailed them. Waited, waited, still nothing. Luckily I used PayPal so I filed a dispute with them. The next day my money was in my PayPal account. These people will steal your money if you let them!"

Computer Scam

"I selected 2 pairs of jeans and placed in shopping cart. When I went to check out, the price was not listed against the item in the shopping cart. It gave a total higher than what I saw previously. I clearly remembered that there was a $5 discount when I saw the item. After the purchase I went back to the site to check on the same items. They updated the price to a higher amount. This seems to be automatically done by their computers - show you low price, not show the price for the item in the shopping cart and then after you purchase they change the web price to higher amount. I assume all this is done through cookies they place on your computer so when you next log-in they know you bought the item and automatically increase the price. A very elaborate scam. Now, it's difficult to make a complaint because the web page shows and updated, increased price.

I purchased items from Sheplers in the past 8 years and they had very good and reliable service. I did not know that they have become so bad, otherwise I would have looked up the reviews here. They are owned by BootBarn now which has equally bad reviews. Used to be a good place to shop a couple of years ago. Then I checked Cavenders - also very bad reviews. What's happened?

sell things they don't have and can't get, ship broken things

"Spent days looking for some western clothing: everything from hats to boots. Ordered 3 shirts from Sheplers. 2 of 3 were OK, the third had an obviously misapplied and destroyed fastening snap in front. Had to print out a shipping label, schlep to the post office, etc. Was also a pretty obvious repack, not on a hanger like the other 2. Ordered a $250+ pair of boots and a bolo tie, website accepted order. Shepler's then called to explain that these items were no longer available from the manufacturer even though they were offered for sale and they accepted my means of payment. Apparently they did not charge the card, which is good, full disclosure. They canceled the order at my request. Nevertheless they lost me as a customer because their processes and systems are in obvious disarray (I'm a commercial data systems architect) and I do not have time to deal with a company that cannot control their own inventory. Customer service tried but there's not much they can do given everything."

3 months to ship and then order cancelled... My daughters gift doesn't exist

"I ordered my first Christmas gift for my daughter early November. This was to replace a sentimental gift stolen at a beach hotel during spring break earlier this year. I took a long time to pick this one out, special order, etc.

Three months later and after 3 or 4 estimated shipping notifications (and phone calls to escalate) I received a cancellation notice the day is was supposed to ship. I was **** OFF!. I called one last time to see why, and there was not a good explanation... Why advertise a product, lead customers that it does exist and will ship and then cancel.

On top of that, Shepler's management offered a very week promo to compensate for my time and frustration... 20% off and upgraded shipping! The offer I used when buying the product initially was better than that! I get emails almost daily with better deals, and the first thing I saw when going to the website to file a complaint clearly offered 20%! F off sheplers! that was the 1st and last time I will EVER do business.

In summary, don't waste your time with this fly by night, non customer focused, sh_t hole company!

Horrible customer service. Got ripped off.

"I ordered a pair of boots from shelpers/BootBarn. I got a size that was too big, so I simply wanted to exchange them. I was told they do not do exchanges, only returns. I sent the boots back to them and 4 weeks later I have not gotten a refund. After 20 plus email back and forth. I was told that I'm basically out of luck. I now have no boots and no refund. By far the worst customer service I've ever had. Not to mention they ripped me off $120+ dollars."

They flat out lie !

"I purchased a pair of boots for a granddaughter for Christmas, They were Rawhide by Abilene floral design. The product description on Sheplers website clearly stated " proudly made in the U.S.A.", which was the number one factor in my deciding to buy them. When they arrived, they were marked made in India. I kept them because from what I've read a return would have been a hassle. I don't think they will last to long, as they looked pretty cheaply made. What gets me though, is just the bald-faced lie."

International Ordering is a absolute mess

"Please international buyers, stay the f*** away from them.
I asked them if they would ship a product to my country and they said of course.
So I wrote three days with them, send all my details etc. and had to discuss with them.
Then just when they were finally ready to finalize my order, they told me that this item does not even ship to my country. So I wasted hours for nothing. What a joke!

Most horrible place, nightmare order

"I ordered an item and not realizing what a nightmare it was going to be.
The item was re-ordered 3 times. Each time additional discount was applied but in the end over several weeks, the discounts would not matter. I was told 2 or more times, the item was in and is shipping today. The next day again, it was not shipped. I think the reps are just told to tell you this to keep you from cancelling. I must have spoke to a dozen reps and all I got was bologna. After several weeks, I really pushed and from a supervisor was told the item would not be shipping and Sheplers is cancelling the order. I found out Sheplers is online only.
