"I just received my couch on June 25. It is exactly what I wanted and expected. The leather is good and exactly the right color. Unfortunately, as it took exactly eight months to get here (I ordered it on October 26, 2013) I would have to say it was probably not worth the wait. I should have paid more attention to the posts describing shipping delays that seem to plague this company. Here is the history of my order:

10/26/2013 I placed my order online after having received leather samples.

10/28/2013 Confirmation e-mail from Nicky:
Dear Stephen,
Thank you for placing your order with Serenity Living Stores. We received your order for the Aniline Caramel Pavilion Sofa. This is a special custom made order due to the color and leather grade. The lead time on your order will be 6 weeks. We will reserve your order till our next stock arrives. Your card will not be charged until order is ready to ship. Please let me know if you are willing to wait. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
12/30/2013 After eight weeks, I inquired as to the status of the order. Here is the 12/31/13 response:

Your order will be filled around mid – third week of January when our next container arrives. The container just left the supplier port of discharge. Please note that during Christmas and New years, it’s extremely hectic for the container production to be completed on time and shipped. Your product is on its way to us and the container will arrive at Los Angeles Port by the 19th. Once It arrives, the order is shipped within 24-48hrs.

02/03/2014 Two weeks after it was supposed to have shipped, I contacted Nicky again. Here is her response from 2/4/14:

Our container was split into 2 so your sofa is in the second part arriving this week. Your order is our top priority and the warehouse is ready to ship the order immediately this week. I will give you an update later on today when exactly we are planning to ship your order.
02/21/2014 Hurray! The couch arrived – took almost four months rather than six weeks. Problem: it was damaged. Guess quality control isn’t their strong suit either. So I contacted Nicky:

Here are pictures of the couch that was delivered yesterday. As you can see, the two rear legs are about three inches off the floor. I think the problem must be with the middle leg. Please let me know how you want to proceed.
And here is her response:

Thank you for sending the images. I will review this with our superior and provide resolution within 24-48 hrs which will be Monday. We will be discussing this issue with our supplier as well. This could have been a damage through transit as this is not even close to what we deliver as our quality product. Please rest assured, proper resolution will be reached. We will most likely replace the frame for you. Please let me know that there were no damages to the cushion or anything.

And then:
Nicky: We will replace the frame for you since there are no issues with the cushion. It will take 6-8 weeks for us to replace it. Would you like to wait? Otherwise we can do a return and refund.

Stephen: not sure. Is the 6 - 8 weeks pretty firm? Last time 6 weeks stretched to 16. On the other hand, what would I need to do to return the couch? I'm leaning toward waiting.

Nicky: I understand your dilemma with this situation. The wait time will be 8 weeks and I have submitted the replacement already. If you want to return it, you will have to repackage it and I will arrange the call tag to be picked up. Once it arrives at the warehouse, I will arrange your refund.

So I agreed. BUT, ten weeks later I hadn’t heard any more, so on 4/29/14 I contacted Nicky again. Here’s her response:

Nicky: Your replacement frame will be here by end of May and will be shipped to you by early June.

06/11/2014: Stephen: Any update? Did the replacement frame arrive?

Nicky: Your replacement will be shipped out on the week of June 16th. We will send you tracking number once shipped.

There you have it. Four months to receive a damaged couch and another four months for the replacement. Nowhere close to the 6-8 weeks promised in both instances.

"It took much longer then any of the estimates given, but the part where it completely fell apart was the delivery. The company they used for delivery does curbside only, which means you need to hire people for whole day to get inside, after they deliver. Customer service has been extremely unhelpful. The options were given:deal with it or pay 20% in restocking fees. The fact that delivery is not done inside the house is not shown at all on the website."

The next day, I received an e-mail saying the item was no longer available and have cancelled my order. I was so disappointed! "Took delivery to my home in CO and their chairs are terrible. I bought 4 chairs based on a few good reviews but I promise the chairs are nothing like the authentic from serenity and the chairs are missing parts. The leathee doesn't feel authentic either. Never again."

"While researching the internet for a particular coffee table, I found Serenity Living. They had the best price (hundreds less ) for the table I was looking for. I called and spoke to customer service and they were very helpful. I put my order in for the table. Although I was told it was out of stock and wouldn't be in for several weeks, I said I would wait. I did receive an email that my table was in and being shipped. The table was delivered, very well crated and wrapped. No problems...great quality and the table is exactly as stated. I would definitely buy from this company again. "

"This review is for the purchasing customer service department. I had reached out to Serenity in search of some information about a product that was left a little unclear on their website. I was contacted within hours by a Ms. Nicky M. She went above and beyond providing me showroom and even supplier images of the product in question, following up with me as she received any new information. Buying stuff on the internet can leave some, if not most, uneasy, but she left me with all the confidence needed to make a purchase. I cannot commend her integrity enough, after receiving emails from competitors where the main message was "Well, you have to just buy it and return it if you don't like it." If you have questions ask her. I ended up going a different direction with my living space, so I can't comment on any product or shipping. Thanks again for the help Nicky!"
