"I purchased my phone for $600 cash and it didn't last me even a month before the motherboard burned out and Samsung declined to give me a replacement. Instead, I had to pay shipping and send the item to them, it took 3 weeks and my service provider didn't give me a refund of my $60 monthly plan. Therefore, I was without a phone for 3 weeks, lost my $60, and Samsung didn't give a dam about it! The SAME thing happened to my phone for 6 times....yes, 6 times! And finally, I had to use the kind of language they understood and got a replacement of my phone......and it was a refurbished crap. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product again! "

"After the company's second rate shipper lost our TV Samsung would not send a replacement unit even almost two weeks after the unit went on a walkabout. The only solution was to cancel the order and go to Best Buy. While there was appeal to buying from the manufacturer don't do it with this poorly run exo mm etc unit. They need to go to school. I recommend someone like LL Bean as the teacher. "

"Boy do I wish I would have read the reviews here before purchasing my Samsung Laptop!

Potential customers beware of purchasing their refurbished laptops. I haven't had my laptop for a year yet and it is completely falling apart. When I called the geek squad @ best buy I was informed my 6 month warranty expired on 7/31/2014 and I have to contact Samsung directly for assistance. I had no idea it only had a 6 month warranty. Most places have a 1 year warranty, especially on refurbished items.

Bottom line is I spent $577 on a refurbished samsung laptop and have to buy a new one since I didn't purchase the extended warranty. This is a lesson learned for me and I hope one for you as well. Apple is the best option as they go above and beyond to accommodate their customers regardless of their purchase date.

"The tracking section of the website does not work. When I called for help, the call taker said the real tracking number is only a portion of the complete number listed on the website and on my receipt. How was I to know that? But it didn't matter: I could not track the shipment using either number."

"Samsung GT-I9000

Next to all the functions a smartphone should have, this Samsung is absolutely unbreakable. When everyone started buying smartphones, I wasn’t sure I wanted to pay that amount of money for a phone that brakes the first time I drop it. I heard the I-phone’s screen was prone to cracking at the slightest impact so I decided to go with a different company.
By now I’ve had my Samsung for over a year and I’ve dropped it several times without any kind of protection. The phone coating chipped off on or two parts but really nothing bad. The screen is like new and the phone works perfectly. I’ve now brought a skin for it (just in case), as I’ve grown rather fond of my phone. I can recommend buying Samsung smartphones. again.

"Samsung censors valid product reviews on their own website. SIP & PPTP VPN doesn't work on the 7" Wifi Galaxy Tab they just released a couple weeks ago. I saw a rumor Apple is coming out with a 7" tablet and there is the 7" HTC Flyer. Both would be better choices than anything from Samsung.

By the way, I've owned expensive items ($3000) from Samsung - even the high-end stuff is released with advertised features that do not work.

Avoid Samsung.

"I'll start by saying that two weeks ago this review would have been one star - somehow Samsung pulled it off at the last minute.

I purchased a UN46B85000 television (46' LCD TV) that stopped working after 5 months of use.

- Nov 16h - called support told me a 3rd party repair service would contact me next day.
- Nov 17th - 3rd party repair service contacted me - said it's be one week to repair.
- Nov 22nd - repair service informed me that repair is impossible because part is no longer manufactured.
- Nov 22nd - called Samsung to relay the information (because the 3rd party repair service - HSC - apparently has no line of communication with Samsung) Samsung says they need to do "part research" and then will contact me by Nov 23rd.
- Nov 24th - after receiving no phone calls I call Samsung - speak with someone that says they need my receipt and/or proof of purchase. I email the proof of purchase.
- Nov 26th - Same person emails me saying she needs the proof of purchase (online order) as an attachment (I forwarded it). Probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard - but whatever. I attach the same email and forward it again.
- Nov 29th - She emails me again to say she couldn't open it.... I call Samsung instead because i'm tired of working with this person. Speak to a different person who says they don't need it - go figure. I'm told that within 5 business days someone will contact me to discuss replacement models. Within 10 days I will have a new television delivered.
- Dec 1st - I call again just to verify because so far communication was a huge issue. The person tells me they screwed up my approval in the system and that he fixed it. That it would be 5 days from Dec 1st now instead. I ask for a manger and he says the manager is out to lunch (at 3:30...).
- Dec 3rd - Call again just to make sure things are actually moving now - they tell me I will be called before tuesday Dec 7th AT THE LATEST.
- Dec 8th - Call again because obviously nobody called me. I'm told that I have my dates wrong - that it's from the date of approval in their system and that they didn't approve of my replacement until Dec 3rd. That it could take 10 days before someone calls me. I asked for a manager who was mysteriously out to lunch again - this time around 2:30.. go figure. I was so angry I just hung up.
- Dec 9th - Decided to call everyday twice day until I get my television. Assured someone will call me soon.. again.
- Dec 10th - Samsung calls me!!! The sky opened, Jesus returned and Obama saves health care. Rejoice. They offer me a UN46C8000 as a replacement. It's a downgrade in model (8500 to 8000) but it's a 2010 and mine was a 2009 and it's brand new instead of factory refurbished - so I agree.
- Dec 22nd - Someone delivers the television. They pack up the old television - set up the new television and make sure it works. Really nice - the two guys set it up super fast and I was really happy.

So if you managed to actually read this review. They honored the warranty but similar to some of the other reviews on Samsung - there is absolutely no internal communication or follow up in their customer service. They apparently don't take notes from previous communications. It's possible that it's tactics to fight off fake warranties or lazy people - I don't know. But I will say that when Samsung got around to honoring the warranty - they did a hell of a job. Also the TV is awesome - no complaints with their products (even the one that stopped working after only 5 months - before that it was gorgeous).

"Thank you for a horrible policy for returning defective HDD's. I have to pay to send it to the company handling returns for you, then get back a recertified/refurbished unit (in other words, someone else's previous problem) & this is after the new hard drive starts to fail after 3 MONTHS. It is too bad because I have a... Samsung laptop. I guess I can look forward to that hard drive failing as well. I will be getting my tech parts from a more reputable company from now on! "

"Very similar (positive) like the review by "bearfacts" written on April 23, '09. Samsund 203b failed 16 days short of the 3 year expiration of warranty, I had not even registered the monitor on the Samsung website. Days later I had the PP UPS shipper (label), sent it off (I benefitted from a nearby repair here in LA) and less than one week later it was back in perfect order. Only complaint I had was that my pristine original packaging was not used on the return I got some beat up old box for a larger monitor,
But I was happy !

"I purchased a T240HD wide screen monitor with built-in HDTV tuner. Sound too good to be true, it is. The monitor works, the digital tuner does not. The TV will only tune three of the remaining analog channels. The Monitor was purchased from Buy.com. In an attempt to avoid the trouble of online returns, I contacted Samsung directly. Wow, what a mistake.

I contacted Samsung support on Aug. 21, 2009. They apologized and said they would send a replacement monitor to the local UPS store for me to swap with the bad one. This should take 7-14 business days, ha… Somewhere around day 12 I still had not received the promised email indicating my monitor was on its way so I called back. This is where I was blown off the first time. I was now told it would take 10-15 business days. Okay, so I waited until day 15 and called back. Day 15, this is three weeks later… I was told the monitors had been unavailable but had since started shipping and to wait a few more days. I asked for tracking information but was told there was none. ???

It’s now September 21, yes a month later. So I call back and get Peggy. Peggy understands my dissatisfaction and tells me she will escalate my ticket to “Executive Customer Relations”. Evidently this is a Samsung inside joke for, we will put you on indefinite hold until you get disconnected or just hang up. After 15 minutes I was disconnected. Maybe I will try back tomorrow…

Lesson of the day: Stay away from Samsung products

Called back on 9/23, evidently ECR ticket never created. Today they created one. Alicia informed me the request for the replacement monitor was sent to the shipping department back in August but had not been shipped. She would email the shipping department and get back to me in 24-48 hours.

It’s now 9/29, guess what, no call back from Alicia, big surprise…
Called and spoke with Comisha. Bright young lady, she can count. She informed me that it had been 27 business days since the replacement monitor had been authorized. Bless her heart. I asked her to speak with a supervisor and was told there are none. What?
She is transferring my ECR ticket to Case Management. I can’t wait to see what happens next…

Lesson of the day: Samsung still sucks!

Oct. 5, Received a call from Ryan at Case Management today. He informed me the reason my replacement monitor hasn’t shipped is they are out of stock. Good to know…
He asked if it was alright to upgrade me to a 26” monitor. If so, they could ship it out today or tomorrow and would send me a confirmation email when shipped. I should have it in a few days.

It’s now 9:20pm on Oct. 6 and guess what, no email… Ha!

October 12, still no monitor, phone call or email, big surprise…

Wow, Samsung really does suck!

Oct. 13, finally received the new monitor today. No call or email as promised so I called Samsung and they gave me the tracking number and said it had been delivered to the local UPS store that morning. He confirmed it was a 24” LCD monitor not the upgrade to the 26” that I was told that I would receive. Oh well… So off to the UPS store to get my monitor I go. Guess what, it is the 26” upgrade that I was promised. Wow!

I took seven weeks but Samsung finally came through, thank you.

If anyone from Samsung reads this:
The internal communications at Samsung suck… Their ability to maintain any continuity with a problem ticket, follow up on or convey the status of a ticket to their customers needs some serious work. I have numerous Samsung products but this experience with their customer service department makes me have to rethink any future purchases.

"This is regarding the $70 Samsung rebate for a color laser printer CLP-315 from Circuit City:

I purchased this printer from Circuit City in October 2008. Sometime around January 2009, I inquired about the unpaid rebate and was told that the rebate processor went bankrupt and that Samsung would be late on sending payments. I inquired again in April 2009 and was told to wait again.

The rebate was left unpaid as of June 2009 so I had to write to the Samsung Legal Department in New Jersey to get this resolved. I had to warn them about a lawsuit in small claims court to get this rebate paid in July 2009!

NEVER, EVER DO A REBATE WITH SAMSUNG UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT 10 MONTHS!!!

Follow Up:

This is their legal department, don't let them get away with an unpaid rebate:

"Ordered a samsung TV online and it came missing a part. Retailer could not help me since they ship straight from samsung and told me to call them for support. They agreed to send me the part but it would take 2 weeks, after I had already paid for 3 day shipping to get the TV in time as a gift.
Samsung will not credit the costs I paid for shipping, won't send the missing item express, and doesn't allow for any tracking so I have no idea when it will arrive.

"I buy a Samsung cell phone from one of the dealer in Seattle not too long ago but it start give me problem now. After 7 day the dealer said nothing they can do about it and told me to call Samsung for service. That is 10 after I got the phone. When I order the phone they don't have it and have one ship to me from Singapore. When I call in for Samsung Support in US they said that is not a US model so they can do any thing about it and told me to call Singapore support. Phone number they give me was the same number I call and talk to them (1800- 726-7864). I told them that is the US phone number, they told me to put in the contry code of Singapore (65) in front of it. I work on the phone system for more than 10 year and know for sure that is not valid phone number. Here is the support info Samsung have on their web site http://sg.samsungmobile.com
Name : Samsung Mobile World (Jurong Point)
Address :
63 Jurong West Central 3, #B1-11, Jurong Point Shopping Centre, Singapore 648331
Phone :
1800- 726-7864
Fax no :
67912806
Operating hours :
11am to 8pm (Daily including Sat, Sun and PH).
So now I have no where to go. I try to sumit the problem throught email on Samsung.com but did not heard nay thing. It seem like they try to push you around so you have no where to go then give up.
The problem with the phoen I have is after 10 days I see the screen keep blinking and the battery when out really quit and that is just 10 days after I have it.
Thank You
