Fantastic Experience and Would Buy From Again

"So i was looking for a pedalboard and decided on a behringer PB600. They sell for $149.00 pretty much everywhere. Came across a "used" one on sam ash for $49.00 and $5.00 shipping. Stated in excellent condition so I took a chance. The following morning I received an email stating the unit was already sold... Contacted "Steve" and the NC location and was told the board was sold just prior to closing the store and that the sold status had not been updated which I get, can't fault them for that since it was at days end.
Steve was checking online as we talked and mentioned there was another board in San Antonio. He called them, called me back and had that store direct ship to me. The board arrived quickly, was in great shape, everything works as it should and in my opinion they did everything possible to make this customer happy. People are always quick to write crappy reviews but in my opinion these guys are great and I absolutely buy from them again! Thanks Steve and Sam Ash for a great product and you saved me $100.00

Waste of Time/Crooks

"Ordered a Rickenbacker, long story short, 2 weeks after paying, they tell me they're gonna cancel my order because they're freighter doesn’t send Rosewood.... BS... I think they just thought they under-sold, got a better offer, and f’d me off. Never waste your time here. "

Waste of time

"Took in a clarinet for possible resale. 2 employees said it was in great condition but the service guy had to look at it and he was at lunch. Left it there with the understanding he would look at it soon as he returned. I went back after 1 hour and he had not looked at it but did so after I waited . He examined and played the instrument and made some adjustments while I waited for another 30 minutes. The sales lady then came out and said it needed $30 of work done that I would need to pay before they would make an offer buy it from me. She had offered me 1/2 of what I had hoped for and now deducting another $30. She should have disclosed that was the deal before I waited . The way it was handled made me feel they were just trying to give me less money. I left and took my clarinet with me. Very unprofessional way to do business and total lack of urgency to take care of the customer. Total waste of 3 hours for me."

Horrible service

"I went in with the full intent to buy a guitar and and lessons. I paid for a trial lesson and was told to be early. I was early and waiting and no one came. 10 minutes later someone came and long story short, my lesson was cut short because she had another student so I paid for nothing. I’m beyond annoyed because I wasted time and money. I was told I could purchase another trial lesson but, why would I after what just happened? "

Poor communication and shipment.

"The store is not crisp in communication. They say "same day shipment", but, that is not true.
I received an email containing a tracking number that claimed FedEx. I searched the number on FedEx website to learn the status of my shipment. It said "No shipment found". I waited for a day and contacted customer service. They gave me a big surprise saying the shipment was actually done through YRC freight. Why didnt they communicate it at the first instance, when, they have the information on their hand?
The reason for not shipping it through FedEx is "Because the instrument(Kawai ES-110) is big." Is it so big that FedEx will not accept? Crazy! YRC is very slow. According to their website, I will receive the shipment after 5 days. Dont know what other surprises I am going to see after I receive the package.

Discounts are another big surprise. A customer rep told over phone that the year-end discounts have ended by 12/31/18. But, after placing the order on 1/2/19, I read on their website that the discounts are extended until 1/6/19.

I believe the store has lot of room for improvement on the grounds of communication and the way they operate.

No communication/waiting game

"When i placed the order i immediately got an email thanking me for my order and telling me i'd get another email when payment was authorized, and another when it ships. Well, after 6 days, i guess they still haven't gotten payment authorization because i still haven't seen a second email. I'm just sitting in limbo waiting. They haven't even taken my money even though it's available. I'm tempted to just have my bank put a stop order on it, there was 3 stores that had the same price, i guess i picked the wrong one. I don't even know what i'm waiting for, other retailers don't leave me hanging like this.

Update: 9 days and still no word! Although today they suddenly charged my credit card, but i still don't have that second email they lied about. I wonder if they are going to bother sending the 3rd one, with the tracking number or if it is going to just show up unannounced. I'm glad i'm only buying a $200 piece of junk, if i had bought something valuable i'd be a lot more concerned.

Update 2: they sent a single email saying they charged my card, and that they shipped it, and there is a tracking number. We'll see what happens.

Order? What Order?

"Sit down and grab a beverage. Ordered Roland TD17KVS from here and tracked its progress for delivery on 10/17/18 by end of the day. Came home for lunch to find a FedEx post it on my door. It said IN PERSON SIGNATURE REQUIRED. Really? Just when was I going to be told this was required? OH! NOW? Called FedEx 0 help, can't change or modify delivery instructions and refuses to make contact with truck for a rendezvous. Called Sam Ash, below 0 help, refused to assist, any changes requires the order to be cancelled, shipped back to Hicksville NY wait for refund then place another order. So I recruit a door watcher to sign for the delivery, wait, waaaaaaait, no delivery. Go to FedEx tracking and what do I see? DELIVERY EXCEPTION DELIVERY REFUSED? So I call FedEx, order was cancelled... nope not kidding, I will stop here for fear I will start using explatives. One final phone call to Sam Ash with a ton of "my apologies" and "unfortunately there's not much I can do" (s) and on the plane goes the parcel. Reorder? You bet! From anywhere but here!"

Dealing w Sam Ash Franklin Mills

"I've bin Playing music for years.And I have dealt w SA,for the same amount of time.I can say in your in Philly.You need to deal with Rich Parker.in The Franklin Mills store..I've dealt w alot of guys there.But this know knows his stuff...And is very helpful.Wish he would have bin there for the last 15 years."

Student Trumpet repair

"I brought in a used trumpet I bought for my 11 yr old who is taking band for the first time i just wanted it looked over before school started. Mike was nice enough to spend 10 minutes with me looking at it and playing it. Turns out its in decent shape and it doesn't need work. Will definatly come back if i need anything because I wasn't rushed or treated like a number "

Unbelievable

"I ordered a Numark Dashboard 7-3-18 it arrived 7-10-18 when I was to get it 7-5-18 upon getting the pkg I ordered online with a representative was to have been new it was used ,scratched,all wires opened & the previous owner left their iPod charging cord in box I notified C.S. they offered me a $50.00 e-gift card to shop online again I didn't order an opened or request a used item @ full price I was willing to work with them on their error with some type of discount for the used item even sent them pictures the best they could offer me was the gift card & finance the Dashboard (opened scratched used) at full mkt price & keep the card for future purchase I have Sam Ash Credit Card I advised them when the e card arrives I will refuse delivery once the item has been credited back to my account I will surrender my Sam Ash Card their representative I talked to was fine during my purchase but when I was asked to compensated on their error of a used product being sent than a new one as ordered (crickets) no offense to sam Ash but I refused to purchase any items from them fear of it being used or refurbished "

Kurt Cobain Fender Jaguar

"I have been very pleased with my new guitar from Sam Ash. I was hesitant about buying a guitar that retails for over $1200 online, but David Weintraub, sales specialist at Sam Ash, put me at ease.

I initially visited a local guitar store here in Columbia, SC, where I had purchased 3 guitars, 2 amps, and countless other musical sundries. Due to the poor, reprehensible customer service...I went straight to Guitar Center. I should have known how this was going to turn out. After wasting 2 hours of my life, they would not come off the $1224 price tag a hair and wanted to nickel and dime my **** for everything associated with the guitar. This infuriated me.

The next morning, April 19th to be exact, I called Sam Ash and had the pleasure of speaking with David.

He put my mind at ease and had recently played a drum session with my former drummer, Derek Roddy. I wanted the guitar in time for my birthday, 4/20, but the guitar shipped 2 days, which landed on my birthday party day!!

FedEx totally screwed up and lied after I waited all day at home. David looked into it for me after the other company blew me off. I finally got my guitar on Tuesday late, late - the last stop - because they don't do ground on Mondays, my luck once again.

Out of the box it played fantastic. It was pretty much set up and tuned to about a drop D. It has goto tuning pegs, warm surfer sound and is just a beauty. The maple neck feels awesome...traditional Fender perfection.

I did have to take it to an authorized Fender workshop because the first pick up wasn't working. A wire had come loose in shipping. They needed the receipt and David was Johnny on the spot getting me a copy.

I'm giving David Weintraub 5 ☆'s. The FedEx headache and having to spend time back and forth with the guitar only 4 ☆'s. I'll definitely use Sam Ash for future purchases. Meinl Hang Drum perhaps?

Super Service

"After purchasing a guitar from Sam Ash, I found the same guitar at a competitor for $190.00 less. I brought this to the attention of Sam Ash as they do have a price match policy. To make a long story short, Sam Ash verified the price and credited my account $190.00. That is real customer service. Thanks Sam Ash. You have made a customer for life!!!"

SAM ASH DOLPHIN MALL (never again)

"First of all a lot of instrument are scratched or has dents,horrible customer service,its impossible to talk to people,the music in customer service and in the store in general is stupid loud,so you can not test the instruments and then the management is useless,they do not want to help people and the guys have really bad manners,see you guys no more."

The online order confirmed but never charged my card!!!

"At the end of my online order then 3 days later it hadn't come so looked and it said the order didn't actually do anything! And my card wasn't even declined and i printed out the confirmation of purchase and have it.... don't buy from sam ash...."
