VIP Program is a Scam

"The salesperson at the store convinced me to sign up for the VIP program to get a discount, saying it was easy to cancel later. I set myself a reminder to cancel, and two weeks before the renewal date, Road Runner renewed it and charged my credit card. There's no way to cancel the account online, so I called Road Runner, and after a 45 minute wait on the phone, the customer service rep said they automatically renew two weeks before the actual renewal. WTF? No other company does that. And then it takes a 45 minutes wait, plus another 5 minutes with the rep to cancel my account? What a scam! They make this so difficult for customers so they can scam them. Very very very few company's nowadays force customers to call in to cancel their subscriptions since it's so easy to implement on a website. Their practice clearly shows how unethical and not customer friendly they are."

Don't shop them!!

"There is no way to cancel their membership that I didn't even sign up. I just shopped some stuff, and they made me the member. I attempted to call them five times. They always put me on hold forever until I gave up and hung up. This place is a total scam. There are class action lawsuits against them. I may need to join."

Intentionally Dishonest

"I attempted to buy two pairs of the same shoe because they had a promotion. When I tried to do so, the site said there was only one pair left in stock (so the promotion was not worth it). I placed the order anyways, but to check, I logged back on and tried to buy the same pair (which would not be out of stock if they only had one pair left). Amazingly, in the ten seconds between placing the order and refreshing the site, another new paid in exactly the same size was found. Of course, on the page there is no way to cancel an order, so the goal is to market to you an offer they will intentionally not honor and when you figure out they lied, prevent you from doing anything about it."

Run away don’t walk

"Ordered shoes that came in wrong size. Returned at my own expense and they still charged me return freight. Will not reply to several notices of this. **** poor customer service. Buy elsewhere. "

Horrible Company

"ordered a, new to me, brand of shoe from RRS. They arrived 14th of January 2021. As an avid runner, it doesnt take much to know if a shoe works...so I put them on for 24 minutes, on my treadmill. My feet ached. I immediately boxed them up and returned them the 19th, MLK day was the 18th, so no mail or it would have been a day sooner. After 2 weeks, no refund and no response...I contacted them. I was told these were being returned to me because they were used. $129.95 Hoka Clifton shoes, in my possession 5 days and worn 24 minutes...used. They offered an exchange if I paid for a membership. No refund and paid exchange. I have yet to get my "return to me tracking". Order directly from the shoe brand!!! Hoka has already agreed to take these shoes back. There are too many businesses trying to exploit customers...dont allow this one to. Most good shoe brands offer 3 month returns on truly worn shoes...so skip this really bad middle man! There is no actual unused shoe...the representative I talked to on the phone said lint from the air or a small hair all can flag used by their return department. It's a scam

Company offered an exchange, if I paid for VIP status. After reading all the reviews about their program...I fully understand this is a membership scam company. Never again!

Auto Renew policies are a Customer Nightmare

"Beware! And Literally Run Away.
Road Runner Sports charges $1.99 for a VIP membership, but it auto-renews for $39.99 per year. The details of the subscription are not fully transparent. There are Many complaints on different websites.
When I explained to customer service that I was not aware of the auto renewal, they were inflexible. Their practices feel like a scam.
I understand that a Class Action lawsuit was filed in California against RRS for violation of consumer laws and practices.
All customers should carefully study reviews about Road Runner Sports and their auto renewal practices, poor customer service and spotty return policies.

Total ripoff

"This company does not have the consumer's best interests in mind. I ordered a pair of sandals, they did not fit and were terribly uncomfortable (woven leather between the toes never is). I tried them on, immediately put them back in the box and requested a return label. Company takes more than 25%, charging both return shipping and a penalty because the sandals showed "significant wear and dirt". I literally sat, put on sandals, took back on and put back in box. This is a fraudulent claim. Further, the company refuses to credit my original credit card, they insist on store credit. Tell me, would you ever order from a company that treats its customers with lies for their profit?

Avoid roadrunnersports.com, it's not worth it.

Terrible customer service

"My experience with road runner started off bad when they wouldn't issue a refund for shoes that were brand new and never worn. So I use my credit for my husband and we asked the agent that we wanted them here in a week and could he guarantee it. He said yes. I get no email on tracking so I call and I am told they are backordered so again another fail for this place. So now he has to go buy a pair anyway. Roadrunner needs to go out of business!!!!! Terrible customer service!!!!!!!!!!"

WARNING!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE!!!!

"I would have give this company minus stars if I could. They never really care about customers at all. I ordered the Nike Epic React from about a months ago. After 3 weeks passed, I still have not received any email regarding the shipment or tracking number. I have to call them and VIP expert told me that my order was will be shipped out today blah blah blah. So I waited for another week, still no update on the order. I went online and check my account, the order has still not been shipped. Then I called them again, some "VIP expert" put me on hold for freaking 30 minutes, she said she had to check with the shipping department. So I was told that they would email me when they had the answer. Next day, I received an email stating my order has been cancelled, apparently my Paypal transaction did not go through ( even though I have more than enough money in my account). Well, they asked me if I want to place the order again, cause the color and the size I want was still available, and it showed on the website too. I will have to pay using my credit card over the phone. Naively, I trusted them and gave them the credit card info to place the order again. 3 days later, I still had not received any tracking number as they promised. No email, nothing! I had to reach out the call them. This time, another VIP expert: "I'm sorry, your order has been cancelled, the item you ordered is out of stock, would you like to order a different color?". Like WTF???? The whole time, I had to reach out to call them, they never emailed or call you to let you know about the situation. I have never had such a bad shopping experience. Everybody should stay away from this company."

Gone down hill

"I’ve actually called RRS for several reasons the past two months. The first time in January was for an unauthorized charge of $59 for their VIP membership. They advised me that I was on auto-renewal (which I didn’t agree to), so fine, I let it ride. Then I placed an order for shoes a few weeks later, but had to call because I wasn’t even showing ip as a VIP member online. Fine, she fixed that. I received the shoes, tried them on, and put them right back in the box because the company had changed the design and I hated them. It took about 3 weeks for me to get a return notification via email where I was notified that I had a merchandise credit due to “condition” of shoes. I was mortified as I only tried them on. So now I’m forced to use the money at the company stead of getting a tire credit back on my card. I’ve been ordering from them for over 20 years and I am done. I see similar reviews online, so sad bc they’ve been my go to for years, no more. "

Horrible experience with no help or resolution

"I had my money ($400) froze for 6 days and still is.... I confirmed inventory in stock prior to ordering over the phone, I also received a email confirmation saying item is in stock and ready to ship. To add insult to injury I've had to call daily for 6 days with no help due to systems down. Roadrunner has completely failed in completing a simply transition in a timely manner. In the end there is no accountability on their behalf. No resolution or assistance to make this right. Still haven't released my money on my Navy Federal credit card. Have to wait for it to fall off and it's been 6 days! Roadrunner rep says item sold out today..... 6 days later!! I even paid for the VIP membership ensured items ship out within two hours.....I want what I paid for nothing more, nothing less.... "

"Return is not free, you must pay unless you return to their limited stores in some few states. If you use the item then there will be one option only and that is Exchange, no refunds at all. "

Stay away from Roadrunnersports.com

"Overcharged me on initial order and VIP membership was added after checkout. Had to call to get that fixed. Website promises everything ships within 2 hours. Called back 2 days later to get tracking number and found out that shoes hadn't even shipped yet. Sylvester, a customer service manager proceeds to tell me that every issue has been my fault. They didn't overcharge me, I had the VIP membership in my cart. The promise of 2 hour shipping only applies to VIP members even though the shipping policy doesn't say that. Got tired of their crap and ordered from an honest company. Emailed complaint to company and they didn't even have the courtesy to respond. "
