"If you're looking to purchase some Yudens, it's very important that you buy them from someone with an excellent reputation, and with good recommendations from sources who know what they're talking about (and *not* off of eBay!).

This is because TY media is highly counterfeited, and it's nigh impossible to tell fakes from the real stuff. (Something like DVD Identifier is not a reliable indicator of authenticity, because the brand information it provides can be faked.) Let quality checks (with Nero, e.g.) and consistent good burns without coasters be your guide. And refer to the first sentence of this review.

I got my steer toward Rima from one of those intense DVD sites - you know, where they go around memorizing lot numbers of media and such. Rima's site is uncluttered and easy to navigate, the prices are good, the shipping charges very reasonable, and they were very fast to get the goods out the door with an immediate email informing me of the UPS tracking number.

Good place to shop, whether you're in the market for Yudens or one of the other brands/products they carry.

One caution - when you click on the "Continue" button when ordering after entering your credit card info, the order is placed then. There ain't no chance to review and then hit the typical "Place Order" button."

Details of my order:
After reviewing this site for a reputable company, I decided to go with Rima.com for my order of 100 DVD cases.
* Wed, 12/20/2005: My order for a box of 100 DVD cases was fulfilled and shipped via UPS ground.
* Fri, 12/30/2005: Package arrived after 10 (ten!) days because of the X-mas season; scheduled delivery was 12/23/2005, but then rescheduled by UPS; anyway, I found out after unpacking that the DVD cases were NOT usable -> disc locking mechanism was bad with practically all cases and wouldn't hold any CDs/DVDs; if you turned the case upside down, the "locked" disc would simply fall out!
* Fri, 12/30/2005: I e-mailed Rima's customer service the same day about the unfortunate issue with the cases and that I already wrote off the order because sending back the package was not feasible due to shipping costs.
* Mon, 01/03/2006: After the extended holiday weekend, I promptly received an e-mail from customer support that they would ship me a new box of DVD cases and told me to keep the ones I have.
* Fri, 01/06/2006: The new package arrived; DVD cases are working!

Bottom line: Those guys are simply AWESOME! You realize the commitment of a company to their customer when something DOES go wrong -- not how fast they ship or how cheap they are! Without any fuzz, they solved my problem on their own initiative -- and what do you have to lose except to win another customer?

There are not many e-tailers out there you can trust, but this company is definitely one of them. All the positive reviews were right! Two thumbs up!"

"I had yet another wonderful experience with Rima. I first heard about them about a year ago and have purchased from them 2x now, restocking on all my blank media.

This most recent order was for 100 T-Y DVD+R's and 100 T-Y CD-R's. I guess Rima was out of stock on the 100 spindles of the +R's, so instead of holding up the order, they substituted 2x 50 spindles instead. A lesser company probably would have just held the order until the backordered products were delivered. Rima made the right choice in my book, but an email letting me know would have been nice."

"I usually alternate between rima.com and newegg.com for media. However, rima is the undisputed champ for prices on Taiyo Yuden media. No other site even comes close to the price (unless they are selling the fakes, ie Sonic branded, Matrix branded, ect.). I have ordered two spindles of 50 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R (TYG02) and they have been suburb discs but then again Taiyo Yuden is top notch for quality. Also unlike the store re-brands (ie Fujifilm, Maxell) rima seems to have better quality control on thier discs. I don't know if this is due to storage, handling, ect. but I have yet to recieve a single disc that is bogus disc from rima.com. On the other hand I have been through 9 packs of Fujifilm and Maxell media that have all had spotting and fingerprint smudges on the discs, even though supposedly they were Taiyo Yuden made discs. Even in the past when I would order Ritek G03 and Ritek G04 DVD-R discs from rima they were always the same as the last two spindles of Taiyo Yuden that I have ordered. . . .FLAWLESS FROM THE VERY CENTER TO THE VERY OUTER EDGE OF THE DISC!!!! Rima is every bit as quick as newegg.com for processing and shipping out orders and always keeps you updated on what is going on with your order. They aren't like some companies *cough* meritline *cough* who sit around for a few days before digging up and process your order. If you order during the week, rima will usually have your order processed and shipped within 24 hours. Nothing but praise for these guys. "
