"I found some information on MSI barebones laptops. Then, I found rawpowerpc.com as a reseller of these laptops that could customize it with the components. Rawpowerpc offered lots of options (CPU, memory, harddrives, etc.). I asked several questions and received quick responses that helped me in selecting the components. After I ordered, it took some time for the computer to be assembled (I guess they do not keep all of the parts in stock but order as needed), tested, burned in and shipped but I pretty much expected it. If I wanted it quick I would go to BestBuy and buy an HP or Sony. Rawpowerpc communicated with me throughout the process, which helped me to wait for the machine. This is probably one of the finest vendors I've ever worked with. Gary Schultz made my day over and over again during the 6 days before I was leaving the country. I really wanted to have that new machine, and he made it happen.

He tested the machine before sending it, found 0 pixel flaws, checked its benchmark score, and phoned me to let me know it was in the mail. There were emails at every stage of fulfilling my order. "I recently purchased and received my configured MSI 510C Megabook from rawpowerpc. First off, let me say that I cannot convey enough how pleased I am with the system, but even more so with rawpowerpc.

-STORY-
A couple of months ago I was in the market for my first notebook (I own a desktop but was looking for portability). So for about a month I read numerous reviews on the web (probably more than I would like to remember). I went up on forums such as notebookforums.com to chat with people about the various computer manufacturers and types of notebooks that were out there.

-BACKGROUND-
I am a student so I was looking for a notebook that was fairly lightweight (under 10 lbs) to transport back and forth to class. I didn't want a monstrous notebook, however, I game every now and then (mostly real time strategy games) so I wanted something that had decent power. Mostly I use my computer for surfing the web, playing music/video files, games, and word processing.

-WHY I CHOSE RAWPOWERPC-
After narrowing down the criteria of WHAT I was looking for in a computer there was then the decision of WHERE to get my computer. After all of the research that I had done I fell in love with the looks of the MSI (the look of the system is important to me). Rawpowerpc is one of the only companies that configures computers with the MSI shell. This being my first time ordering a configured system I was a little hesitant, however, I had heard and read nothing but good things about rawpowerpc.

-MY EXPERIENCE-
I had a couple of questions regarding the MSI system and rawpowerpc's policies before ordering from them. I sent them an email and went onto their online chat service. The chat online service was great, the customer service representatives were extremely helpful and pleasant. Furthermore, within half an hour of sending the emial I received a call from the president of rawpowerpc answering my questions. He was very pleasant and reassuring. Suffice it to say I was beyond impressed. So on December 4th I ordered my configured MSI notebook. I received email updates upon each new phase that my notebook entered (submitted for building, testing, etc). On December 20th the system arrived. Absolutely stunning, runs so smooth and the screen is perfect. I had a little trouble getting connected to the net, so I emailed them. Once again, within half an hour of the email (more like 10 mins) I received a phone call from the president to help me out. Bottom line: rawpowerpc makes some of the best configurable systems out there, but what puts them over the edge is their remarkable customer service (second to none).
