But that's as far as the good things go.
First they make you call them after you order to give them some useless info before they can fulfil your order. But the call is really just so they can try to sell you some more things that aren't so cheap and they almost don't take no for an answer.
Then they send you an e-mail with links to enter ratings for them on all the sites they are listed on and offer a few cheap things in return if you fill out the rating. Probably hoping you will fill it out to get the freebies before they give you something worse to put on them or before you even receive your order. But you cant give them a proper assessment until you receive your order.
Also they state on their site they stated that my item was really there and would ship out within 24 hours but it really took more then 48 hours to ship out and they constantly refused to upgrade shipping to make up for them taking too long.
They were also repetitive, rude and slow answering e-mails."

I have ordered Canon A540 digital camera. First, I did not receive a confirmation letter until a few days later and then I had to call them back. The sales representative was polite and asked if I had any questions. He offered to buy memory at half-price, but I didn't need to and he didn't insist - the experience I have had with several other websites from which I have tried to order the camera I have bought. He also offered the Extended Warranty from RepairTech for 3 years for $30. I didn't say yes right away and hesitated for a while, so he offered a free small camera case and a Shipping upgrade for no charge in addition to the warranty. I have agreed to that.
However, the problem is the warranty is non-returnable and although the sales rep. said you can take it to any store like BestBuy and CompUsa and they will accept the warranty and repair the camera, I have spoken with the BestBuy representative and he said that BestBuy does not honor that kind of warranty. The website provided on the warranty itself is www.repairtechinc.com - check it out. It lists local service provides, but they are not necessarily affiliated with RepairTech. You also have to register your product within 30 days of purchase, which I have not done yet. Honestly, I really hope the camera does not break, because I am not still exactly sure where I would then be able to take it to repair it... That's why I am not sure whether buying that extended warranty plan was a great idea.
I was happy with the shipping, because the camera arrived in 3 days and it does not seem to have any defects or malfunctions... So far... It also has all of the accessories that go in the package with the camera, such as 2AA batteries, a few cables, a 16MB memory card, etc. 1 year manufacturer warranty included.
Thus, I would recommend this site, but just be careful - don't be fooled by some of their "deals" and don't buy accessories right away. When you order from their website and you call in you might get a much better price if you either bargain for warranty or something else.
In addition to that, after you call and your order is confirmed you get an email saying that after you leave feedback on certain websites for RainbowTronics they will send you a free bonus for every rating you make on a website. "This company is guilty of selling used TV'S and trying to make it look like it was damaged by the shipper, in this case UPS. I ordered a Samsung LN-S4095D which was supposed to be a new TV. I received the TV today 2/8/07. The outside of the box showed no signs of any significant damage to the contents. After opening the box the styrene was broked into over 50 pieces, the bag around the TV was ripped and soiled and the TV has some scratches on it. The damage was obviously not the result of UPS. With the level of damage to the styrene you would have had to run it over with a forklift to break it into that many pieces. I have called Rainbowtronics and so far they are not willing to do anything to replace the TV. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and have contacted UPS to inspect the box and contents. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! This was a clear case of bait and switch!!!! I intend to report them to our attorney general's office and if possible have charges of fraud brought against them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! "

This is my first purchase with RainbowTronics. The price is the lowest among legitimate online merchants I can find out. By legitimate, I mean the user ratings are reasonably good.
Searching product and purchasing is easy and no surprises. Since I read the reviews, I knew I will be contacted via email for credit card confirmation. I got the email the day after the purchase and asked me to call a 800 number to verify my payments.
No one was picking up at the extension I was given when I called so I just selected to talk to any customer service person from the main phone menu. I then talked with a customer service person who verified my payment, then offered me some incredible priced accessories over the phone. I declined because this is the first order from this merchant and I want to keep it simple and small to see how it work out. But I wrote down the name and extension of the person so I can call them later for the accessories offered if my order delivered okay.
The delivery was fast and there is no problem with the item I received. I do plan to call them for the additional accessories soon.
The extra step of payment verification is different from most of the online retailers. It didn't bother me that much though.
One thing that they can approve is to automatically redirect the customer to the next available person if the one assigned to me is not available at the time when I called. Not critical though."
