"In spite of their website saying the HDTV I ordered was in stock and would ship in 24-48 hours they could not give me a shipping date. It turned out that they did not have the TV and were having it drop shipped from somewhere.
10 days after placing the order and still not having a shipping date other than "the next couple of weeks" I cancelled the order.
To their credit they had not charged my card and were gracious about the cancellation.
An hour later I ordered the same TV from another vendor. 24 hours later their freight company called to arrange delivery. That is the way it should be done!

"Pricemad.com web site states "ALL PLASMAS ARE BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED WITH FULL MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY. " (their capitalization).

After I placed the order, they asked me to call them, where they stated that the plasma they sold me did NOT include a warranty.

The rep then said he could get me the warranty if I paid an additional $300, and then he could order it through the showroom, so it would include a warranty.

I am not sure if the appropriate legal term is fraud, but I feel ripped off. I am canceling the order, and I can not recommend Pricemad.com to anyone.

"I had an absolutely terrible experience with PriceMad. In short they have poor customer support, willing to lie if it suits their needs, and they will not ship on time. Do your best to avoid this company. There are PLENTY of alternatives.

My first TV was sent via an unknown shipping service that lost my TV in transit (either stolen or they never actually sent it). It took them a week after the scheduled delivery date before they acknowledged the problem and would send another via UPS.

After haggling with them for a week, they finally did what they said they would. I would always ask for the tracking number and they would always say it was being processed through their computers. The truth is they had never sent the TV and they were lying about the ship date. One operator would say it shipped Wednesday, someone else would say Thursday @ 9:15 or Friday or last week, etc. They would always stand firm. UPS emailed me the tracking number before they did, and it did in fact ship almost 2 weeks late after they acknowledged the 1st TV was lost. They were short and condescending on the phone. Do not use this company!

"I first ordered from this company on Sat. November 19th, 2005. I placed an order for two Panasonic plasma flat screen TV’s (one for home and one for office) and two wall mounts.

I got a call the next day (Sunday morning at 9:30AM!) at my home while I was still in bed with my wife. It was some salesman trying to up sell me other items and telling me that there were no video cards in the monitors and they wouldn’t work as a television. I recently read on this site that other consumers were experiencing the same thing with Pricemad concerning these cards – Pricemad is pulling them from the factory set and then attempting to sell them as an option.

After a heated exchange with this salesperson, I cancelled the order. Then I got a call back from another salesman. I told them if they continued to call back harassing me I would contact the NYS Attorney General’s office and file a complaint. I got a third call back from an alleged manager, who offered to upgrade my order at no charge. I was so *#@& angry that I declined the upgrades and held onto my cancellation and no-callback request.

Well, nine months later, I am either a believer in second chances or a glutton for punishment. I am again in the position of needing three plasmas for various retail/businesses I operate. I placed an order today for one 42” just to see if I would get yoked around again.

Yup.

Same process... Email confirmation telling you to call back for fraud protection. Salesman tries to up sell shipping, accessories, etc. TV is suddenly on back order. I cancelled on the spot. Got the expected call-back… “I found one in stock and we CAN ship to you.” I said “Okay, send it.”

I selected 10-14 freight, which is essentially free ($.01) and really ticks off the salesman. I will report back if the set ever arrives or if they end up just wasting my time (which we all have so much of). Worse yet, I’ll report back if they ship some damaged set, as I have tried once before with them under disastrous outcome... and this review, combined with my November order is a recipe for retaliation – I really think they aren’t above that, but I’ll let you know.

Well I'll eat all my words. The TV arrived by Penn Delivery truck to my store on Tuesday - exactly seven (7) days after placing the order. I was perturbed that during that week there was nothing on my account at Pricemad.com to indicate whether the unit had shipped, and that I grew a beard while waiting on hold for customer service to see if it had shipped. But presto, there it was. I am pleasantly shocked. I will consider future orders through them and continue to post my experiences here.

"I bought my Pioneer 50 inch Plasma TV PDP5060 through this seller and it was flawless. Seller was extremely responsive, sent my TV very promply, and my ability to track the whereabouts of it was excellent. I already bought the big ticket item, now I feel at ease and would buy any another product from this seller in a heartbeat."

"Pricmad didn't have the laptop that I ordered - though it said "IN STOCK" and "Ships 1-2 days" on their website. Tried to SCAM me into paying more money for a much inferior product. When I persisted they admitted that they didn't really have the laptop that I ordered. They did however cancel my order w/ no charge.

"I ordered a 50" panasonic plasma from PriceMad on 2/12/06 with some trepidation. Large orders online always make me nervous. I saw good and some bad reviews for PM at this site but what the heck, every merchant I looked at online had some mixed customer service feedback. I rec'd a call on 2/13 to confirm some information I provided, which was returned on 2/14. On 2/14 I was informed the plasma shipped on 2/13, before they "verified" my information which I thought was a little odd. My credit card was charged the day the plasma ostensibly had been shipped. On 2/20 I called re delivery and was informed that Mach1 Air was the shipper and that PriceMad would get in touch with them and PM call me right back. Did not call me back. On 2/21 I called again wanting to confirm delivery status. You can't track at their site, or at least I could not, based on providing correct info to do a search. Search comes back "order not found" every time. So I was told on 2/21 that I would get an email by night time about delivery status. Did not receive an email. Much friendlier when I was ordering versus post sale. Went to Mach1 site and can't track shipment from their site. If no delivery by Friday I intend to cancel the order. Will update this post as events unfold, positive or negative. "

"Stay away from this company. I believe they are submitting false positive ratings in order to cover up their bad ratings. I ordered an InFocus X3 DLP Projector on 1/27/06. The web site said it was in stock and would ship in 1-2 days. When I called to confirm the order I was assured that it would ship in a couple of days. I called back on 2/2/06 to check on the status of my order since I had not received a shipping notice and was told that it was on back order, but the web site still listed it as In Stock. I called back on 2/10/06 to check on the status of my order since I still hadn't received any shipping notice. I was told that the item just came in and that it would be shipped in 1-2 days. However, I was also notified that it was Class A Refurbished which means that it only came with a 90 day warranteed, but that I could purchase an extended warrantee. They never told me it was refurbished when I ordered it. I just hope I actually receive the projector. Will keep you posted"

"Customer service sucks they are no help placed order for tv and it wasnt delivered till after 3 weeks and we had to call and see where it was they had no intentions of deliverying it anytime soon if we would not have called. And was supposed to get a free plasma cleaning kit with order never recieved this either and have called 4 times to see where it is at they keep saying it is on its way. Will never buy another thing off this store. "

"I found the plasma TV (Panasonic TH-50PX500U) I wanted to purchase at PriceMad.com and it was at a fair price. Most of the other internet retailers I found on the internet said that they this TV was out of stock, but I could backorder it. Honestly, I didn’t know it was such a popular TV.

The site at PriceMad.com had every indication that it was in stock, but estimated the shipping at 2-3 weeks. So, I called them and asked them if they had it in stock, which the sales person answered as “Yes”. So, I asked if they guaranteed the 2-3 week shipping, and the sales person answered, “Yes, of course”. So, then I asked them why so long from New York to San Diego where I live. His answer, “It has to come from Tacoma first.”. I should have known at that point, but all the internet reviews I read on PriceMad.com were good. So, I asked him if there was any difference between me ordering on the phone and me ordering on the internet site and his answer was, “No.”. So I placed the order on the site.

Within 20 minutes I got an email and a telephone call at home asking me to make contact with them – but, I was on the road and didn’t get the messages until hours later. When I called them back, a new sales person told me the item was on backorder and wouldn’t be available within 3 weeks. I explained how I was lied to, how it wasn’t his fault, of course, but that I would like to cancel the order because I lost confidence in the company. Then I had to listen to a full 10 minutes of the guy trying to up-sell me. I must have said, “Please cancel my order.” 20 times. He got really rude at times telling me things like I’d never find the TV I wanted.

What a horrible company. If it were just one employee I wouldn’t generalize. But, the facts speak for themselves. My advice is not gamble on ordering anything from this unethical business.

"I was very disappointed with this store. I placed an order for Toshiba 50HP95 Plasma Tv that was advertised as available/In stock on the web site. I called them on the phone to verify and the salesman was very enthusiastic in making the sale. He even assured me that the TV would be shipped no later than the 27th of december as it would take 24-48 hours to process the order. I saw a preliminary charge on my credit card on the 27th and thought that these guys are doing the job as promised. Nothing happened for the next 2-3 days and I called the customers service. After a long hold (as usual) the customer service transferred the call to shipping department where a impatient clerk said that this particular TV is in back order and it will be atleast a week maybe two before it can be shipped out and it will be another week or two transit time. I said "excuse me but your web site still says it is in stock!". He said that there is nothing he can do and transfered me back to customer service where the call went dead. I called customer service again the next day and pretty much went through the same circle. I got fed up and emailed them to cancel the order today 01/02/2006 and I got an email reply saying please call customer service to discuss the problem!. I called and told the lady at the customer service to cancel the order.
The bottom line is that this is not a reliable company. I think they take as many orders as possible without knowing what they have and keep stalling until they can sell something hoping that customers will buy anything out of frustration. I am certainly not going to shell out 3 grand for a TV out of frustration. If there is anything that is lost is the reputation of this company and the trust in Internet trade. I am less likely to do business over the Internet and certainly not with Pricemad.One should be suspicious of any company that has a name like that.

"I wanted to order a Panasonic plasma television. They had the best price as listed on a popular search engine. I place my order on their website. That's when it all started.....

I got an email stating they wanted to "verify" my information". I knew this was trouble. When I called, I was told the television I ordered was inferior to their "professional" line ("Pro Kit" as they call it on their site).

Well the "pro kit" for the Pioneer PDP-505CMX, as stated on their website, supposedly has a 13bit processor and displays like 300 billion colors with a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.

For $1500 more than retail, I bought into this "pro kit". After calling Pioneer and a few "undercover" calls to pricemad.com, I learned this "pro kit" is just the plasma with the PDA-5004 card (Pioneer's standard card). It is a 10bit processor, and retails for ~$299. The contrast ratio for this monitor is about 1100:1.

So I paid $1500 for a $300 card. You can go now to their website and look at the posting for the Pioneer PDP-505CMX. They are committing fraud, pure and simple. I give them the lowest rating.
