"I love shopping here because It’s like a newer more organized thrift store. It has a variety of clothes, all sizes, all colors. And it’s got great prices. The displays are wonderful too.
I like the new dressing rooms but I wish there were a few more. I know that might not be possible but just a thought.
For those of you who haven’t been there, you got to give it a try, it’s awesome. And for those of you who have and haven’t loved it, just keep trying, you definitely find something. "
"Don’t bother folding your clothes to bring into resell, you will just get it back looking like it’s all dirty laundry crumpled into a basket. Spent half an hour folding everything nicely, got it back crumpled to the point where it was falling all over the ground as I was trying to leave the store. And they were so flippant about it. Good luck *then laughs*” honestly worst experience ever, every time I go there the employees are so judgy I feel like they get paid to sit and talk to each other about how others style is so bad. "so me and my sister went in there to sell some clothes for some extra money. Mind you we went in there with 3 garbage bags over flowing with clothes. More than half of the clothes were brand new/ worn very little. so anyways, she asked us to wait while she looks through the clothes and our name will go on the screen or she will text us. We decided to stay in the store and shop while we wait. We were there an hour and our stuff had been done 30 minutes ago. they saw us looking at the screen to see if our names were up there multiple times and didn’t say anything. but we did find some really good PINK stuff for only $10. so with the money we earned we were going to use it to buy the items. so we go up to the counter and the lady tells us that the clothes were to worn out and that they would not be buying. we then went to my car in disbelief. my sister did buy a perfume. their prices are cheap but they are just horrible. while we were in their I didn’t even see them actually look into it, instead they just quickly looked through it and then went into the back. we then look through the bag and there were 6 items missing. SIX. I- I just can’t believe it. not only did they steal from me but by clothes were in great condition and they didn’t want them. but not only that every time we were passing by the counter they would ask us if we were ready to buy. I get they want you to buy stuff by like damn. "
"If I could, I would give -5 stars. Plato’s closet might literally be the most terrible clothing store and resell on the planet. 1. I had brand new brand name clothes, shoes, and bracelets and they offered me TWO dollars??!!! 1. Most of the clothes in their stores has holes in them, 2. Their shoes are so poor and tattered and they didn’t even accept my Nikes worn ONCE c they had a microscopic wear in the front. 3. Almost ALL of the brands they claim they have they don’t, and most of their clothes brands I have no idea what they are. 4. Two dollars isn’t even worth ONE SHIRT?? And 5. The manager(s) want to rip people off by offering hem a terrible sum for so called “worn, off brand clothes”- because they want to make as much money off of you as they possibly can by screwing you. I even turned around going home because my resell was ready, only for someone to have the audacity to offer me two dollars. All in all, they will never see me again. I would rather donate- because at least I’m not trying to screw people. "
"My experience at Plato's Closet was disgusting. The first time I had come to this place I had brought many clothes and name brand shorts with me like American Eagle,Hollister,and Victoria's Secret sports bras and many more.They said they had no remaining money left so we left then we went a second time about a mouth later.We dropped off the same shorts and shirts and all of that and they said they were out of style when these clothes were not even that old maybe a year or two old and they were only slightly used shorts that were in style as a matter of fact and I do not think they even went through all of my clothes.Not to mention the workers have very nasty attitudes towards customers and do not even think you for bringing in your clothes or wasting your time coming to this awful place.WILL NEVER GO IN THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!"

"I received a text on a Monday to pick up $$$ and remaining items. I stopped Sunday and apparently there is a 48 policy that if a check isn’t picked up all clothes are donated and there is no record of the check. 3 brand new shirts and 3 men’s pants all with tags on them... they we’re not donated! Staff was adamant this was their policy, although nothing was mentioned when I dropped off clothes or in the text that everything had been processed. I don’t understand donating clothes that had already been seIected, or why there was no records kept for even a week. I will never bring clothing here again. Poor business ethics and equally poor record keeping. "
"I took in about 10 plastic tubs of clothes to be evaluated for sell to the store. After bringing everything into the store, the staff suggested that they will call me when to 'come back' after the finished going through the clothes. I thought that to be a little suggestive, as I hadn't planned on leaving as they went thru them. I actually voiced my concern as to how 'honest that process was.' When they called me back to the store I was given a slip and told that they chose to do an 'all pass' on the clothes which meant, they weren't interested in the whole lot of material. Understandable. It was about four or five days later that the woman whom the clothes belonged to informed me that one specific item was missing. As there were several crates of clothes, I gave the staff the benefit of doubt and called to see if that one item had possibly been misplaced. It was a one piece cover-all, of a hunter's camouflage pattern that belong to the ladys' deceased father. It was sentimental to her. I am certain it was in the clothes that I submitted, so I told the store that if it couldn't be found that I would write a bad review. I advise that if you take things there to sell, it is in your best interest to stay and 'watch' the handling of your things. This can happen with any company, as dishonest people can infiltrate any staff, but I am certain that the item was there when I left the clothes, and it was missing after I picked them back up, and told that they weren't interested in any of what I submitted! "
"Unfortunately, my old clothes were too small, but the clothes I picked up we great quality. For example I got a $150 bomber jacket from BCB generations (or whatever) for only $7! The store is well cleaned (in franklin) and there are many changing stalls with the perfect amount of room for me and all my hangers. So many items in my closet are from Plato's!"

"I went to a store in NJ, what a dump. It’s like knock off of Marshall’s but people’s used garbage clothes. I was going to sell my items but didn’t want to wait for 2.5 hours. They also don’t itemize for you but rather give you a price for all items your bring as i overheard. I’ll be selling my stuff online. I was reading the reviews on here and also was fearful that my items may go missing as other people stated experiencing. They don’t go through your items with you."

"To make a long story short, they stole part of my clothes. After reading reviews, I’m not the only person this has happened to. They’ve done nothing but lie about. Don’t take your clothes there unless you want them to disappear. Lesson learned "
