"Have ordered 6 motherboards from them. 4 were "dead on arrival". Getting a refund is a hassle. Still waiting (2 months) on the last one. I think I've been ripped off!!"

"Received two bad laptop hard drives with an order for 4. Received an RMA number on March 25 and I promptly sent the two drives back. Received an e-mail on March 31 acknowledging they had received units. Requested status on April 16, I received
no response. Called their telephone number-got answering machine. I gave my info and did not receive a call bacl. Sent second request on April 29. Both request appear on their website.

"I wish I'd read this forum before I ordered from these guys. They came up with the best price for the CD-RW drive I was looking for and their website looked rather professional.

The drive arrived - new or used, it was hard to tell but looked in good condition - but was dead out of the box. Requested and received an RMA number, and sent the drive back per the instructions provided.

Four months later, my credit card has still not been credited. I get a "This number is no longer in service" message when I try to call them.

In requesting that my credit card dispute the charge, I've discovered that this company also goes by the name of AlinaMicro. Feel free to read all the lousy reviews here on AlinaMicro also.

"purchased motherboard arrived doa. had a second one cross-shipped (billed to cc). it was wrong board (also doa). cancelled order. many emails and phone calls later i got 1st refund and a CHARGE for shipping instead of a refund. more calls... finally received refund for shipping on 1st board. a month and a half later, still no credit on second order. i'll end up having cc company remove charge and lose the return shipping. never again..."

"I have been almost *completely* ignored in my attempts to contact them, and not *one* of the phone numbers listed on their site leads to an actual person. I ordered an internal CD-RW drive on clearance on March 20th. The following day I decided to cancel this order and tried in vain to reach someone by phone to do so. I finally left a voice mail message on the only receptive mailbox I could find and sent an email message asking that the order be cancelled. No response, and the following day I received a form letter saying that my order was being shipped. I replied asking again that they not ship the order and to please send an RMA number if it already had. No response.

The order came, of course, and I sent another email message to a few different addresses at the company demanding a response and again requesting an RMA number. I finally got a reply from "Ben" that I should use the on-line RMA form, which I did and sent the package back, following their somewhat strict RMA procedures. According to UPS it was delivered 4/3/03 and I have received *no* response about my refund despite sending two messages in that time to multiple email addresses listed on their contact page.

In short, this is without a doubt the lousiest customer service I've ever heard of, just this side of criminal. If you doubt this I would encourage you to go right over to their site and try to contact them.

"Ordered 6 Seagate 36GB hard drives w/5 year warranties. Order took 3 weeks to arrive. Drives received were Fujitsu; 3 were bad! Absolutely no response from customer service dept. No response from RMA request on web site. This company may have low prices but they sell junk and fill your order with inferior parts. I will NEVER do business with these folks again. If you have received the same lousy service from these folks, please file a complain with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB actually has a clean file on these folks!"

"This is my second order from these folks, and I was a bit hesitant due to the long ship time I experienced with my first order. However, I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered an AT slot 1 motherboard (try to find one of these at a good price anywhere else!!!) on Monday, February 24. It arrived in perfect condition on Friday, February 28!
I ordered from these folks once before and waited 3 weeks for my shipment which finally arrived. I chalked the slow time up to the extra holiday business. I figured I'd give them another chance and they will get repeat business from me again!

"STAY AWAY! MAJOR PROBLEMS! I placed an order on Dec. 20th 2002 for a quanitity of 33 of an item (at $42.00 each, so quite a large order at $1353.00). I received the charge on my credit card on 1/10/03 (21 days after I placed the order). I called several times and talked to their manager, Mani, who I might add seems to be totally confused and lacking in every way to help a customer, I told him that it has been over two weeks since I placed my order and he kept promising that the items were coming in to fill my order and that he would have them sent out asap. "I ordered a DVD drive from this company. I found them as a result of a search on www.pricewatch.com.
The drive was priced at 35.00 with decoder software and free shipping. I called the company to place the order and was promptly told that the price was a misprint. I pressed them to honor the price which was listed. They finally consented. I checked order status on the website and it showed that I had ordered a bare drive (meaning no decoder software). I called them to complain and they said that decoder software did not come with the drive. I pressed them for the decoder software because it was in the listing on pricewatch. The then agreed to ship the software with the drive. About a week later I checked the website for order status and there was none. I called them back and was told that the order was canceled because they were out of stock. I searched the pricewatch website and discoverd that they had a new listing for a DVD drive for 35.00 free decoder software and free shipping. It was a different brand than before. I will not do business with these people again.

"I had been vary wary to what I've read here about PiranhaTech. But the price posted was far better than others. I made my first purchase from them in August and found shipping, packaging and product right up there with the big dogs. Since, I've made many purchases from them and have not had one bad experience. I would get my tracking number on the eve of the order and all have been shipped same day. Phone support was not bad either despite the language barrier but my questions were answered on all occasions.
Overall, I consider PiranhaTech to be a good supplier and have them in my QVL.

"I've only made one order from Piranha Technology (because they had the cheapest prices), and it'll be my last. I ordered 2 CD-RW's (advertised with software and cords), a monitor, and a 5 pack of speakers. First of all, it arrived late, in a box in terrible condition, with insufficient packing. The monitor literally fell apart when I removed it from the box because of a large crack on one side. Both CD-RW's arrived with inferrior software, NO cords, and no documentation as well. I would advise everyone to steer clear of Piranha Technology. They may be cheaper than everyone else, but you get what you pay for. "

"I ordered an Acer CD/RW from Piranha before I read any reviews. They had a good price with free shipping, they even sent it next day Fed Ex for no extra cost (probably a mistake?). "Ordered two HP 36.4GB 10000 RPM HOT SWAP ULTRA SCSI-3 (model#D9419A) drives from piranhatech.com. One of the drives failed so had to be returned. Discovered that when I ordered HP drives I should have gotten HP drives, but that was not the case. These were either IBM or generic brand drives being passed off as HP server compatible drives. Ended up returning the drives. I will not do business with this vendor again because not only do they not send what you want, it is also extremely hard to get a hold of someone from tech support or customer service. Steer clear!"

"Ordered Atrend motherboard from them. The specs of the motherboard were not what was listed at the site. I called them to tell them if I could get another board. They said I'd have to pay a restocking fee + pay for shipping. I said I would drive over there since I live close by. They said I had to mail them. I will nevery buy from them again."
