"Found Photoloon to be the best price online, but didn't realize there'd be extra fees for insurance, etc.

Package arrived as promised, but with two 8GB memory instead of purchased 16GB. When I explained that I needed the camera immediately for a photoshoot and couldn't wait to return the cards and THEN be sent the 16GB, they offered to send the 16GB first and allowed me to use the 8GB in the interim. Extremely helpful!

"Recently purchased a Canon lens from Photoloon and I'm happy to report a smooth transaction. The only issue I experienced was a delay due to a temporary software issue with their website. A quick call into the office got everything moving again and they even expedited the order to make up for lost time!

My purchase arrived well packaged and in perfect working order. Photoloon saved me a bundle with the ultra-competitive pricing and I am left with zero complaints.

"Wow. This company is shady. They do a bait-and-switch approach, where they offer you a very low price, and when you actually go to purchase it, it ends up being a lot more than the original offer. In this case I was looking to buy a Canon PowerShot SX10 IS camera. On google search it was listed for 325$, which was much lower than the others, so yes, I was skeptical. But I thought I would try it. So when I go to the website, it turns out to be 349$, and I said ok. I gave them my credit card, bought it (Or so I thought). They never sent me a confirmation email..which was weird. I got a call from them the next day asking for my information again, & offering some additional warranties (I denied) and then saying "ok the total is 409$". What the hell!!

How did it go up 85$? They said it was insurance, that they needed to tack on 8% of insurance cost (which is bologna). I went to USPS and for 300-400$ worth of shipping, insurance cost is only 6.50$. So basically, it's kind of a scam. Go with another company. They are scam artists. I hope they go out of business

"Don't use this merchant! I ordered a Nikon D90 for $769. When you order online get no email or any kind of feedback. Then some one will call you offering you batteries and then tell you the one that comes with it lasts only minutes. Then of course you are offered a 3 warranty for $89 and then when you refuse he says you can have 5 years for the same price "you won't find it cheaper any where else". This of course is true. So I take the camera and the warranty only. The total now is $929. How does $769+$89=$929? The answer is the the difference is the insurance. I said there is no mention of insurance on the website when I placed the order and he says "it's a big box".
Anyway, nothing too bad yet, but no after the order is placed I get no confirmation email. Online I see the order as:
1 x Nikon D90, 12.3 MP Digital SLR Camera Body $0.00
1 x Package Includes Handling & Insurance $929.00
1 x 5 Year Pro Service Plan Digital Cameras (U1000) $0.00

So basically I have paid $0 for the camera and service plan and $929 for a box. If there is any problem with the box I can get my $929 back, if there is a problem with the camera or the service plan I can get $0 back.
What a scam! Service is horrible! You can never get them on the phone. Do you research first, look at all the reviews on other websites and you will see.

"My friend recommended photo loon because her sister got the Rebel from them. I was skeptical at first but when I got started they made me feel comfortable. I ended up with a D60 and I tell you its one of those purchases that I would never regret. The customer rep was pretty helpful even though I was slightly confused as to what accessories I wanted to add and all, I got my camera in less time than I expected and I got insurance for it for 5yrs for a very VERY reasonable price. Now if only I can get that camera bag to go with my D60 ;-)
I would recommend these guys ALL THE TIME for all electronics you want, they have definitely made a customer for life.

"SLEEZY! DISHONEST! Ordered Canon 50D w/ two lens package. Called to verify order and was transfered to Mr. New Jersey trying to sell me every non-essential battery/warranty plan...supposed to be free shipping BUT...not true...they insist on adding "insurance and handling" for a whopping $188.00...oh...BUT if I bought the $199.00 warranty...they would waive that fee. Totally sleezy...I am going somewhere else that is honest upfront even if I pay more. UPS charges $55 for insurance. RIDICULOUS!"

I want to commend James Carter III for his outstanding service to his customers. I was his customer on Aug. 27th 2009 after talking to about 6 other salesmen from other camera stores and all of them were so rude and did not want to give me any attention. James was patient & kind and very personable. After only a few minutes I told him he had the sale as I was frustrated with the others. He helped me with the correct choices for my purchase and I felt he gave me the best info possible. Good for you at Photoloon to have James Carter III working for you as he does like his job and also enjoys being a friendly, personable salesperson because it makes him feel good to know he did good for someone.
