" I purchased cat food online. I returned a portion of the order to the store in Avon, OH. Two weeks later, never received the refund on my credit card account. I called the online Customer Service and was on hold for an hour. I was told it was in process and should receive it in a few days. One week later, I still had not received refund. I called again and on hold again for an hour and was told they could not help me because I returned the items to the physical store. I called the store and of course they had no interest in helping me. They wouldn't even look up the return! I was told to call credit card company. I did and now waiting for the dispute to go through. I will find another way to purchase my cat food in the future. Petco has lost my business!"

"Got an email today fro Petco saying my order was cancelled. The item I wanted is showing as not in stock now. However when I ordered it the website showed it was in stock and I got an order confirmation and my Paypal account was charged. Today I got the cancellation notice. They also didn't bother to explain why they cancelled the order. Of course it is impossible to contact them by email because they don't provide an email contact - just a phone number that doesn't get answered They charged my account when the order was placed so they are issuing a refund. I thought they didn't charge you until it shipped in the first place. They are the ones who chose to cancel it - not me. Now I am choosing to not make any further purchases from them. The least they could do was say we are sorry but we will not be able to fulfill your order at all. "

"I have taken my terrier to Petco Goodyear on three occasions for nail trimming and they always said what a good dog he was. On the last occasion the manager said I couldn't bring him back because he tried to bite them. After talking with them a female customer came up to me and said she had overheard the conversation and had witnessed them being very rough and mistreating my little dog. She then advised me to take him elsewhere. The grooming manager was very abrasive and shouldn't in my opinion be employed anywhere working with the public."

"I signed up for repeat delivery for a medication for my pet on their website. By the second month, I had found the same medication for repeat delivery for much cheaper at another website that was listed on Petco's website as one that they price match. I called customer service and, after waiting FORTY FIVE MINUTES, was told they don't do price match if you're on repeat delivery (even tho it says "price match guarantee" ON the repeat delivery page). So I said ok, I'll cancel repeat delivery and do a one time purchase with the price match, bc even paying for shipping it would come out cheaper. The lady said she needed to "check with her manager" for something and put me on hold again for another 10min... just to then hang up on me. I got the strong vibe they just try everything they can to not honor their price match "guarantee" they put on their website. I cancelled my order and got repeat delivery with the other website, whose customer service was leagues better than Petco's.
Two stars only because I got the first month of my medication for a discount (which was still more expensive than other websites anyway)."

"The worst service I ever got in my life!!! I tried to place the food order for my dog that requires a prescription. My vet contacted them multiple times and a couple times she called them in front of me, but Petco denied that she ever called them. LIERS!!!!!!!!!! Never will deal with them again!!! For one month I couldn't get food for my dog!!! RIDICULOUS!!!!! They don't care about the animal at all!!!!"

"I have an aquarium and I am always looking for fun things for my fish, plus food and other necessities. I live near a Petco and so I prefer to go there versus Petsmart which is on the far side of town. Yesterday I went to puchase a heater for my tank and walked around looking at the fish. The tanks were filthy! Full of brown algae where some of the fish and plants were dead. They had some very cool sea anemones but a couple of them were so covered in algae you couldn't even see them. So, as much as I would like to go to Petco, I will travel further to Petsmart where they are very contentious about taking care of their pets. "

"Petco (475 S Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226) will literally steal from you. I bought a $60 bag of dog food (left it at the register, Drove around to get my truck, and they asked for my receipt when I purchased it less than 60 seconds before) the manager with the Australian/New Zealand accent wouldn’t give me my dog food or a refund. To add insult to injury, she said she would give me a 5% discount if I wanted to buy another bag. Thankfully I got my credit card company involved, but petco will literally steal from you. Don’t ever come to this establishment."

"With all respect for all representatives that I have met for all this time I came in Petco, I give Petco 2 stars. But what the heck is with fish department? I have been in few Petco stores and each time I saw the same problem - white fuzz almost in every aquarium and I am very dissapointed about the aftermath of it being in my tank. All fish I had (exactly all) in my tank were bought in Petco and absolutely ALL of them died after day or two of purchase. Even though I followed all rules and advices to keep them properly including cleansing the bottom, changing water, feeding the fish with good quality food but all, ALL my 14 fish have died for 2,5 weeks. All 2 goldfishes, 2 angelfishes, 10 danio, now they all passed off. I checked my water and employee said it was perfect. What is interesting, all fish I bought in another (not Petco) stores were still alive at that time and seemed to feel good. I didn't start to think that these fish in Petco could so weak... I thought I got them healthy, but I was shocked when I realizied that would me a reason. Weak, unhealthy fish, waiting for death in your aquarium. A just cried because I read a lot about fishkeeping and I didn't even expect that fish could be so SICK. I did a massive restart of fish tank, I mean I pour out all water and throw in the trash all infected plants and stuff and clean the tank, but after a huge dose of antinfungal remedy THE INFECTION WAS STILL PERSISTING! I just gave up because I waste a lot of money into nothing.
Please don't take fish at this web store, or pick them up if you want to get rid of fishkeeping."

"Petco is good when their floor sales people are around. But I have gone there a number of times to buy fish and get fish advice with no sales person around. I would ask the cashier where the sales person is and was told that one would be coming soon. After waiting 10 minutes, I walked out of the store.
Some of their fish supplies are sub standard."

"So the store on 6120 n Decatur Blvd in Las vegas N.V. I recently went in to ask about dog training but once there I noticed the dog trainer who's name is misty wright had a heavy odor of marijuana coming from her body. Not sure if she just got done smoking or had something on her but either way it was nauseating and I had to cut the conversation short the smell was to overpowering for me. Not sure if the policy is to smoke at all while working for this company but it absolutely turned me off on getting dog training service. Just feel that the work place should be for work and not having your employees represent your store by smelling like marijuana not cool or proffesional."

"This is the 2 nd time I have has poor information and terrible customer service. The petco company grooming department needs to get all on the same page and give out correct information. I made an appointment for my new puppy to get groomed, when setting up my appointment the guy I spoke to said my puppy didn’t require any paperwork since he was not even 3 months old yet. I had him confirm everything he told me and made the appointment. Needless to say once I got there all the information I was given was incorrect. The African American so called groomer was extremely rude and argumentative. She thought she was tuff **** behind the counter. I told her she was being a **** as I was leaving and she proceeded to laugh. I returned to the store and asked her if she thought this was funny by treating customers like **** and giving out miss information to said customer. She even had the ball to yell at me. Well with her being so confrontational told her to step outside and we could handle it there, she thought she was hot **** because she was behind the counter. Do not ever take your pet to get groomed at Petco on Powers. I have called the manager and I have called the corporate office needless to say probably nothing will be done. Like I said in the beginning this is the second time I’ve had an issue with them and I will never be returning. "

"Buyer beware! Mochi went to Petco on Sepulveda for a trim and came back looking like she had been hitting a crack pipe for a month. The guy doing the cuts although claiming having all of this experience ignored all of the instructions he was given. He shaved our dog and what is worse he cut her paw and as of today it is still bleeding. We are not happy with the service or follow-up. Mochi is still crying because of her paw and being cold and we will never go back. We are sorry Mochi but we will share our experience so that you can save the rest of your furry friends from being traumatized. We did get a refund and they offered a free cut? Really?!? You mess up the job that we paid for and we should trust you to do a free one? "
