"Provantage is a drop shipper in many departments. We ordered a specific item required for a job. It was shipped out, but we only got 50% of the order. I go to my Provantage account and on the order page, it says the order was completed and delivered in full. This was very annoying. I have accounts with Bluestar and ScanSource but I get better prices on most items from Provantage. This **** because they are pretty much not doing anything but billing me and letting the distributor take care of the rest. What am I paying for if it isn't some sort of service or consideration? I call Provantage and guess what? Your order has been delivered. I told the receptionist the situation and they get back to me later that day. So here I am, 2 and a half days later being told only half the order will be shipped and the item should be back in stock in a few months. This is precisely what is wrong with companies who drop-ship items, they get increasingly un-involved in the process. Customers, especially smaller ones like us end up with delayed jobs, shortages of items, mad customers because we couldn't notify them promptly of the short order.
I have been purchasing from Provantage for more than a decade. Their service and continuity have diminished significantly recently. Very disappointing."
