"I ordered a replacement CPU fan for my Dell Dimension 9200. the price including shipping was $15 ($5 for the fan and $10 for shipping). I received the order within a couple days and I immediately installed the new fan. When I powered on the computer, the fan made a loud grinding noise for less than 5 seconds and then failed (not spinning). The fan failure was confirmed by the BIOS. I checked my connections and tried booting several times to get the fan to work, but to no avail. I replaced the "new" for with the old one and the old one was noisy, but worked.

What frustrates me the most about my purchase is that there is a sticker on the packaging of the fan that stated the fan was "Tested". Whomever tested it must not have realized you don't put the sticker on it if the fan fails the test.

"I ordered a laptop and was charged for it on 7/7/2010. I waited five days with no communication from them. Signed into the website only to find that I had no order history with them. Called their toll free number, left a VM (for Brian W.)with my contact information. Waited one day with no response. Called back the next day and got his manager. Was told that the computer I ordered was out of stock and they were trying to locate a similar or upgraded model for me. So it took 6 days and 2 phone calls to figure out they no longer had the item I ordered.

Received a call the next day (day 7) that they would be refunding my money. Now here I am 5 days later (day 12) no computer, no refund, and no new communication from them. Called and left another VM with them a few minutes ago. Hopefully this one gets returned.

Even if they do come through with the refund I don't see myself ever attempting to use them again. I would suggest that you don't either.

"Was looking for an affordable PC solution for my children for school. Searching around on the 'net I came across PCSurplus because of their great pricing. I was able to purchase *two* of their fully spec'd systems (without OS) for the price I would normally pay for one Windows-loaded system elsewhere. Everything was packaged excellent, and it all arrived to my home in IL 3 days after I ordered.

I'm relatively tech-savvy and I was able to load up all of the software I needed without any problems. I had a little problem with Windows Update on the one PC, but after a quick Google search I located the problem (a preference I overlooked during setup) and everything is great now. Both systems have been used by the kids every day and have been running non-stop since they were purchased and run even faster than my refurbished HP that I blew $379 on at BestBuy last year!

I'm a pretty cost-effective shopper and I'm always looking for a good deal. Not only was the system pricing at this place better than others, but I also noticed they have a twitter http://www.twitter.com/pcsurplusonline which I was able to snag a promotional code through that netted me another $10 off my order.

A+ Will definitely be returning to PCSurplus in the Fall when we will be needing a Laptop..

"Ordered used Dell Fan & shroud assembly. Tim went the extra mile to find one in his warehouse. Let me think about it and do research on compatibility for a day or two. Then charged only $10 for the "pulled" item. Shipping was fast (4-days) and packed well. However, the wrong fan and shroud was sent. Next day I called and Tim appologized and said he'd look for mine. Next day I followed up and he found mine and put it on his desk for the shippers to go out that day. No charge and no RMA necessary. Great customer service. Treat poeple right and they treat you right. I expect the correct item in about 4-5 business days. I'll follow up later."

"I ordered a Dell LCD monitor from this website. When it arrived, it is different than what is clearly depicted on their website (false marketing??). The website advertised that the monitor has a stand that allows it to swivel between verticle and landscape mode as well as height adjustment, when I received the monitor, it only locks in landscape mode only allowing it to turn side to side. No response from seller yet, false advertising. Filed complaint with paypal and credit card company."

"Found Soundblaster Live cards on sale on this site. They were listed as pulls. Odered two and they arrived quickly. One had a bent PCI bracket. This may have happened in shipping(the boxed was pretty beat up). Bent the bracket straight and every thing was fine. They work perfect."

"Placed an order on 9/12/04. No UPS shipping confirmation was ever received. Called the store on 9/20/04. First, the order number I received did not match the one they had in their system. A CS rep found my correct order number and proceeded to put me on hold to check if they had any left in stock. While I was on hold, I was transferred to his voice-mail and I left a message to call me back with status information. He never did, so after 30 minutes I called back and got a different CS rep. I asked why I was never called back and he said that maybe the rep I spoke to got interrupted. I asked how this could be as my first rep stepped away from my call to check stock. The rep got upset and become more agitated and started arguing with me.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ALSO DO BUSINESS THROUGH E-BAY AND I WOULD RECOMMEND NOT BUYING THROUGH THERE EITHER.

Edit: I was told originally that I wasn't charged since the item was never shipped. Well I checked my credit card statement and I was charged the DAY after I placed my order. I called CS back and they told me that I wasn't charged. What? So I told them that I was and they said "oh yeah, you were." Please do not do business with this company.

"Bought a dozen 32X CD-ROM at $5 for my volunteer work at Salvation Army. 32X sold out, so we were given 40X instead at same price. 8 Lite-On LTN-403 drives first rate, all working; firmware update at Lite-On site was easy. 4 LG 8400B not so good -- one working, 2 DOA, 1 getting repeated seek errors; their answer was to bring 'em back and they'd give us 4 48X replacements (40X had sold out). Great response; good outfit, but you've got to be fast 'cause turnover of products is very rapid!
Even if they'd made us "eat" the bad drives, it would have been a very good deal; as it is, we plan on using them whenever our needs and their products meet.
By the way, had half dozen "I/O Magic" 56X from (office superstore) at sale price of $15 each; still have 2 unopened in box, usable as paper weights -- otherwise as trash bag filler.
The Lite-On drives were bought to take the place of the Magic Junk, at one-third the price, and worth every penny!

"Won this auction from Pcsurplusonline.com. Initial contact with the company was great. When I got the item (Mylex Raid Controller) it was not functioning. Contacted the company and they said they had no more in stock so they would refund my money and have UPS pick it up. UPS picked it up, it was delivered to them, now they have my money, and my product. Have contacted them 3 times in the past 3 weeks with no return correspondence."
