James told me the unit I ordered only had the 2006 maps but he could give me the 2009 maps for an additional $79.00. I declinded and said the 2006 maps would be OK. He then offered me the 2008 maps for only $69.00 more. I told James the 2006 would still be OK. At that, James said they were out of the version with the 2006 maps and the best he could do was a 2009 version with a charger for $225.00. When I refused, James said my order was cancelled and hung up.

"SCAM ALERT! I will not be mentioning anything too different from all the other reviews of this fraudulent company. They do a bait and switch. I wanted to order a Nikon D90 SLR body, which was advertised for $599. I was then baited into a bundle that supposedly had a better lens for a better price, and this body would be a magnesium body, rather then a plastic body like the product I was originally interested in. Well, turns out that Nikon does not make a plastic body for the D90, so that was a flat out lie. Also the lens did not come in a box upon arrival, therefore, according to Nikon, it could not have been new (as the salesman stated), but rather refurbished.
The CSR, Sean Federline, was not there to provide support...I am not sure he knows what customer service is! Instantly upon discussing the return of the order and my dissatisfaction with the product, his tone became hostile and he refused to even discuss it.
Lastly, the return policy basically states that bundles can not be returned, so the fact that Sean Federline never mentioned a restocking fee (even after mentioning a possible return in the future if I was not satisfied) is irrelevant.
I will be filing a complaint through AMEX. I will update this review when I find out if that is successful in case others are still trying to set things straight with this company."

An absolute shoddy outfit that offers a customer service call back option but have no real concept of what customer service is except to be very rude and unhelpful. I can't believe they are still able to do business! Bait and switch to the Nth degree. "SCAM ARTIST!!! They advertise a low price for a Canon SD780 Camera on their web site. Then when you order the camera, you get an email to call and "confirm" the order. When you call, they say that the camera does not come with a battery, and tell you you have to purchase one of two batteries FOR AN ADDITIONAL $80-$100!! Stay away from them!"
"Bait and switch. Like others have said I have never had a problem with buying off the internet. This was the second place I tried to buy the canon G10. The first was the same bait and switch. So I called them first, was assured that the camera was in stock. 2 day later got the same email to confirm order after being told on the phone that I wouldn't need to do this. Confirmation was just a sales pitch for accessories that were very over priced. I declined their offer was was hung up on. I check the site the next day and it showed my order canceled before I even had a chance. 2 days later they sent me a confirmation of the canceled order. So I check again to see if it was in stock, but my order still said canceled. This was the same routine for Camera Giants. BEWARE"
"THis is the biggest bait and switch I've ever seen. I ordered a Canon EOS 50D for about $700 which I confimed the following with the guy the phone (Eli):
- New, unopened box
- comes with Mfg. waranty
- In Stock
- shipping was free
- would ship withing 48 hrs as advertised
They tried to sell me a batterly and charger for $250, which I declined. I should have known somthing was up then becuase local retailed sell them for about $50.
After 4 days with no order confirmation I called back and was told that "the model I ordered was backordered". He also informed me this was a plastic version(?), and I could get the Canon version for $1600. I cancelled the order - I can get it at best buy for $1400. WATCH OUT FOR DEEZ GUYZ! Don't order anything.

"Unfortunately,I fell for this Bait and Switch. Tried to order a Nikon D60 camera package for $410. Got a call from there CSR to confirm the order. Was informed that camera came without batteries. My CSR Eli Silver, said a battery would cost me $100 and the charger $189. Said I could get a better deal if I upgraded to the "Super" package with battery and better lenses. I asked if all components were new and Eli said yes. When I received my package, I discovered all boxes were opened and lenses and camera are reconditioned! Package came with 70-300mm Nikon AF lens fit the camera but is not designed to work with the D60. The AF function requires that the motor be in the camera, and the camera only supports lenses with motors in them!!! Customer service "disconnected" me 6 times when attempting to return package. I was blinded by the "too good to be true" pricing and should have researched the company first!! Shame on me!!
Total for life lesson.... $850
By the way, you can get batteries on Ebay for $10 and chargers for $15. "

"WOW what a moron I am for not looking up the ratings on this company! It seems like this is a trend. I tried to order a video recorder about two months ago from another online store (digital genius) and the process was the same. Order-wait about a week-get a call to confirm-salesman offers add-ons-item is now suddenly out of stock.
On time digital did not even let me know that I needed to confirm. I checked the status only to find that the item was not sent. After I spoke to the most rude sales rep of the life I learned that the item was out of stock.

All of the companies above have the same boiler room tactics: 1) You place your order for an "In Stock" camera or other electronic item, (sometimes over a hundred dollars below the average prices at the known B+M dealers), 2) You get a call or email stating you need to "confirm" or "verify" the order with a salesperson, 3) You get lied to that the battery doesn't come with it, or you need some other part to make it work correctly which they just happen to have for you (at a price that is 3 to 6 times EVERYONE elses), 4) You smartly decline to order that part and they "cancel" your order, either with you on the phone or quietly after you have hung up thinking that 3 or 4 weeks is ok to wait since your saving $100.
You will never see that item, only the lost time. They never had any intention of selling to you at that price. It took me a while to realize that fact. I placed the orders to the places above, and after the third one was cancelled I started to do the research on these companies. I find it very interesting that the format of ALL the Invoice Order Numbers were Identical!?! (same company under many different names and locations??)
I honestly don't know how NY continues to let these people operate, their BBB ratings are all so bad that it gives the state a bad name. They don't even try to hide what they are doing. Spend your hard earned money in a state that cares and doesn't let companies like this continue to rip consumers off."
"COMPLETE SCAM!!! I ordered the Panasonic FZ28 camera because the price was far lower than any other online retailer. I have never had a negative experience from an online retailer before (I know, I'm lucky) so it never occurred to me to check ratings.
I received 3 Emails from Joe S. instructing me to call to confirm the order. When I did, I was on hold for 25 minutes and the person never identified himself, but just as the other reviews, started telling me I had to purchase the battery and charger, and an extended warranty. I told him I did not need the battery, so he moved on to the warranty and told me if I bought the warranty for $189 he would give me the battery and charger free (of course, telling me the camera would not work without THIS specific battery!) When he first launched into the pitch for the warranty, I started saying "no" over and over but he was not to be stopped till he got to the end. When he finished, he finally got the message and started mimicking my "no, no, no", called me a b**ch and said "your order's cancelled". Then he hung up on me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! To those of you who raved about doing business with them....do you WORK for them???? I am SO glad the order is cancelled..."
"This is the second time I've tried to order from this company. The first time I was told the item was out of stock. This time (ordered a Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens) I was asked when I called if I wanted the metal or plastic mount. This lens only comes with one type (metal). I was told the metal was $399 and the plastic was $259.
As I'm talking with their rep I was looking at their internet site and told him so. He quickly offered to cancel my order on the spot.
I know going into this purchase this was not a stellar online seller. They proved all the negative comments had a solid basis.
Buyer beware. Know what type of seller you're dealing with. In this case a pretty poor one."
