"I sent my rebate in in June 2011. It was received and processed, and it said it was approved. I never received my rebate. it was for the puchase of a video card from Tiger Dircet. it was a PNY video card. Rebate $30.00. I am sick of waiting , even after contacting them asking for my rebate. I am contacting the California attorney general. The rebate place doe snot make it easyt o contact them, every search bring up worthless info."

"I had two rebates from this place. Both purchases were made from Buy.com. One rebate was received after three and a half months. Another rebate has never been received in last one year. During this time, I have called them and sent emails. Email sent in March was replied in August. I have even moved and got my address changed in their system. But still no luck yet. Everytime they say that they are having some problems in giving payments and that I should wait."

"I have several outstanding rebates with them, some almost a year old. Pure fraudulent business. Tbhis particular rebate tracking M9ZXEVUFYYB4ZU6K for HP Jornada is for $100 and was approved in Sept of 06, and still unpaid

The item was purchased at Buy.com (I'll be rating them as well)

"I would not recommend OnRebate at all. Buyer beware!!! They conduct business in a manner that is not conducive to your best interest. In addition, never ever buy anything based on a rebate. If you actually do receive your rebate, consider yourself lucky. Feel free to do a search on rebates relative to OnRebate and you'll find a plethora of reasons why you should not base any purchase desisions on rebates. My rebate was submitted and denied based on a best guess of which barcode was the right one. They were nice enough to send me a notice regarding this. I called the number on the postcard and instead of them telling me which one I should have sent, the CSR made me guess at each one of them until he finally confirmed the correct one. I re-submitted it. That was a waste of time and effort. I never saw that $50, and don't suspect I ever will. I've moved on, and now know not to ever base my purchase desisions on the lure of a rebate. They bank on the term "breakage" which is an industry term used when referencing rebates. It's when you, the patron is forced to go through so many hoops to get your rebate that you eventually just give up, or don't bother trying anymore, if at all. It's free money for them to keep, or perhaps claim themselves using the materials you've provided. It may sound like a bitter jab at them, but at this point it's anybody's guess. Never again OnRebate! Your ratings on this site based on the many customers you have abused speaks for itself. I tried several courses of action with OnRebate, but they have set themselves up to be unreachable where it matters. If OnRebate really respected their customers, they'd create a website and eliminate all of these rediculous paper processes. An online rebate site where you could just put in your transaction numbers, serial numbers, etc. and just keep it simple. I call that responsible and honest business practices. Is that asking too much?? Afterall, all the information is available through your parent company from which you're derived anyway! You know when I purchased, you likley have my invoice information available, and I'm certain the serial numbers of the products are tracked even before they exit the docks. I've dealt with other merchants that respect me as a customer, and that's exactly how they're setup to do business. I'm loyal to them, and respect them as a vendor. I've got no respect for greedy dysfunctional pirates. I'm just one consumer, but the word is out. OnRebate's ratings on this site speak for themselves. Where do I sign up for the civil suit?"

"I bought a Sony PSP from tigerdirect.com with $20 rebate.I submitted my rebate to onrebate.com and the rebate was accepted on 8/8/2006.
In Jan 2007, I sent 2 emails to them. No reply.
I also made 3 phone calls.
First time they promised that it should take
10 business days for the check arrives. 10 business days later no check.
I called second time, they promised that it should take 7 business days. 7 business days later no check.
I call third time, they promised that the check
will be sent out in 2 days. 10 days later no check.
Those people repeatedly lie to customers.
It is ashamed that this company is still in business.
I already filed a complaint with www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org

*** UPDATE ****
BBB contacted onrebate.com and they responded.
I finally received my rebate last week.
I encourage everyone here to file complaints with
BBB if you feel you are cheated by those people.

"I have a total of $420 in unpaid rebates outstanding with this company -- that's right, $420. Most unpaid since July 2006, most recent is from Sept 2006. All quickly went through the first steps and all show as "The Rebate was accepted", so no problem with my submissions. They simply have not sent payment. Customer service is non-existant. This is tuirning out to be a classic rebate scam company."

"Over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, Fry's had a nice mid size ATX case that was $70 with a $70 rebate and the case was actually pretty good looking, so how could I resist? Filled out the rebate form, COPIED EVERYTHING, and sent it off to Onrebate in Florida on Monday 11-27-06. Rebate check came today 2-27-07 (about 12 weeks) so I'm happy with them."

"OnRebate is an online retailer's sister company which processes rebates for basically itself. (I had to remove the company's name due to reseller ratings now allowing me to put it in the review) You can easily determine which retailer I am talking about by doing an internet search for "Onrebate Scam"
I had ordered a barebones computer system from the retailer in 2005 which had 3 rebates. The rebates were submitted correctly, although took 6 months to receive. I felt this was an unacceptable amount of delay to receive the rebates, but I did receive them.
In June of 2006, I thought I'd try the retailer again and ordered another barebones system which had 4 rebates. I received one $10 rebate in 4 months, but I am still waiting for the other 3 rebates which total $140. At this time it has been 7 months I have been waiting after the approval e-mail I have received from Onrebate. Their website says they are approved, just waiting for the check to be mailed. This has been 7 months. I feel this is an unreasonably long time to wait for a rebate, and I will never again order from the retailer.
If you are considering ordering from this retailer, do yourself a favor first by doing a quick search for "Onrebate scam" and see what comes up.

"Over a seven month period I submitted nine rebates to OnRebate. I can honestly say that I received all the money for every submission. In fact, I even received more than I was supposed to on one submission! I didn't have any problems following the online submission process and was always glad to see that OnRebate would send me an update email informing me of my submission status.

The only problem I encountered was when OnRebate sent me an email stating that a rebate was denied because I needed to send in a copy of the original invoice instead of a shipping invoice. I had sent in only the shipping invoice because I forgot to print out the reseller's invoice when I made the purchase. OnRebate allowed me the option to resubmit the paperwork and I found out that I could still get an invoice from the reseller. Ironically, OnRebate's resubmission form stated that either a copy of the original invoice or the shipping invoice could be used. Go figure. I resubmitted the paperwork--I kept copies of everything--and eventually received my check.

Did the rebates come fast? No, but in my experience few ever do. I'm still waiting to here from some of the rebate offers I submitted a couple months ago (not OnRebate). These places don't even have a website where I can conveniently track my submissions.

Oh, and by the way, the reason I received more money on one of the submissions was because I elected to go with OnRebate's 'fast' process to see how fast it really was. In order to get this fast processing, you have to give OnRebate 10% of the rebate. However, my check arrived with the full rebate amount (the 10% was not deducted).

"Onrebate is the most criminal company I have ever seen. They are constant liars, thieves and the top to bottom should be in jail. I know the Miami Dade authorities are investigating them. I know the FTC is looking into the den of thieves, but still they continue to steal people's money. The companies using them should also be dumped as they are participants in the thefts. Onrebate.com is the WORST rebate company in the world."

"I dont know why there are so many dissatisfied responses regarding TigerDirect (TD and Online rebate (OR). I purchased 2 items from TD in Dec 2006. Received them both quickly, decided to return one item and filled out rebate forms for the other for $10 + $80. Had some difficulty filling out the rebate form online and getting a return confirmation, actually had to do each one twice, finially got a confirmation, gathered and mailed in the required forms for both rebates. You need a serial number before filling out forms online. Not sure this was mentioned in the myriad of rules, gotchyas, and instructions for filing out online forms.
Then I got curious about TD and OR, so I checked this and other websites and got very concerned after reading the numerous negative replies. I thought that after buying many items online without a problem, I may have just gotten scammed for the first time. I decided to wait see what will happen. I did email and call OR about the online form difficulties, and received no response.
After three weeks my visa card was credited in full for the returned item. I was out the return shipping. Then about 6 weeks after purchase, I received checks for both rebates.
I was treated fairly by both companies and would buy from them again.

"This company is by far the worst rebate handlers out there. Please do not make the mistake I did. I sent them everything they asked for and got an email denying my rebate and then another asking me to resend the rebate with Original UPC cut-out..... Hello ... the original was sent the first time. I called them and a guy who was not interested to talk in the first place and totally rude answers and tells me that the envelope did not have the UPC code, how is that possible when I put it in myself and trust me I am an experienced rebate sender, this is not the first time. He tells me to check the box to see if i actually cut it out ... what a #*&^#$%.

To sum it all, stay away from them, they are thieves.

"Well I do not have any different story then any one else here. Send all the documents and onrebate said they are missing the original UPC bar code. But in my opinion TigerDirect is also partner in crime with on rebate. They both are scam companies."

"Same problem no rebate check for $100.00. For several months it showed it beening processed, I started asking by sending several emails about not receiving it never a reply. Cannot get anyone by calling all recorded messages. Then it changed showing about two weeks ago the check was mailed 7/11/2006. Tigerdirect is who I ordered the item from they are no help telling me to contact onrebate which I have with no luck. To me tiger should check into this they are the ones who offered the rebate in the first place."
