"Whether I order online or by phone I am always amazed at how quickly I get my product. I really like the sales that are online and the ease of ordering, esp. the way your order is listed on the sidebar to the right, so I can keep a tally of what I have at a glance. "I loved to shop in Vitamin Cottage when I lived in Evergreen, CO. They have great staff with very competitive prices and a lot of choices. But,after my online shopping experience I would think twice about ordering anything online from them.
1. The order processing takes forever. For both my order it took at least 7 days to leave warehouse.
2. The shipping price billed to me is 20% higher than actual shipping cost. It is easy to see on the shipping label. I'm talking about international delivery, not sure about US domestic.
3. They have quite a strange shipping policy, which is not clearly published and online buyers should be aware of it. If they do not have some items, they just send whatever left from your order as soon as it makes at least 50% of it.
Strange thing that you can not see on the website if the item is in stock and they do not inform you about missing items by email when they process your order.
4. I was shocked when I received my order of 4 1oz bottles of herbal extracts and 1 bottle of vitamins in huge box in which you can easily pack good size TV. I even told the postman, that it might be mistake. Box was full of packing foam. It is just totally ecologically unfriendly plus it is significantly increases shipping cost.
Conclusion:
Prices and products are very good
Shipping policy and order processing time makes online experience quite uncomfortable

"I almost hate to share the secret about how GREAT this licorice is. Our local store is always out, so I've had to resort to ordering online. It is so soft and chewy full of strawberry flavor - you'll never eat another brand of licorice after trying Tubi's!!!"

"This is my 2nd order and my experience has been nearly the same with both orders. I am very pleased with the variety, quality and availability of products. Pricing is competitive and acceptable. Things that can be improved: time to fill orders and/or communication about the order. It's a very slow process so I find that I have to order way ahead of my need. Also, items get discontinued relatively often and they are simply cancelled from your order with no communication or opportunity to substitute. On cancelled items, the freight is not adjusted."

"I appreciate being able to order on line from the Vitamin Cottage. The problem in the past was that the orders would take up to 3 weeks to arrive when many out of state orders tooks days not weeks. This order happily arrived on Saturday - just 7 days form ordering. Thanks for improving you service."

"I've been very satisfied with the great variety of products offered by Natural Grocers, especially the availability of bulk organics. The prices are also good, although you have to buy an item from the supplement department to qualify for a reduction in shipping cost. I'm not so enthousiastic about the customer service - while it hasn't been negative, per se; it hasn't been speedy or responsive. I sent 2 e-mails regarding my last shipment, neither of which received a repsonse. My current order is pending, and I have to go to the website to check its status, since I recevied no e-mail confirming my order or telling me of its status. I was also rather unhappy about the way my order seemed overly packaged - for example, each can of tomatoes I ordered was indivdually bubble wrapped. I'm grateful that Natural Organics is there, since they fill a void in products that I wouldn't be able to buy locally, and I will continue to use them, but I think they could make some improvements. "

"Beware!!! Read the reviews about slow delivery and be prepared to wait and wait and wait for your order. Do not expect them to send an email nor to respond to emails asking why they are still "processing" your order. Yeah, the prices are good, but the frustration of slow processing is not worth the savings. Take your business to a company that puts an emphasis on customer service-these folks do not!"
