"This store should be reported to the BBB and the Federal Trade Commision. I, too, was the victim of this company's Credit Card scam. Right now I'm out almost $200. How this company stays on the web with this type of reputation is beyond me. I'm contacting the FTC now. I've contacted the police and trade authorities in New Hampshire."

"This company operates under 2 names, Lord John's Footwear and My Shoe Store/myshoestore.com. My personal experience with and review review of this company can be found under the other alias. Anyone and everyone should read the reviews for this company under both names. If you are already a "victim" of this company, you should contact the BBB of NH who has received over 250 complaints about them. I am hoping that, with continued complaints on record, some arm of the law will actually do something about this company. STAY AWAY! Their prices and availability seem too good to be true because they are! It is my opinion that this store is posting items for sale that they do not have in stock nor do they have any means of obtaining. This place is a joke.

" I wouldn't recommend this store to an enemy, let alone a friend. Sure, the shipping is free... I placed my order and after several weeks of waiting, called the so-called customer service department. I came to find out through this call that the shoes do not even ship for at least 30 days after your order is placed. This information was not divulged to me until I called to find out why my order had not yet shipped. Because I called attention to the fact that I had not received my order or been notified in any way that shipping would take so long, I was in their eyes very rude. I did finally tell them to cancel my order and issue a refund. When I asked the rep how long a refund would take, she let me know again how rude I am and hung up on me. This might be understandable had I raised my voice or started swearing, but I simply had a complaint. I called back and asked for a supervisor, who I never did get to speak with, and was told it would be at least 30 days before a refund would be issued. Keep in mind that it only took them 1 day to BILL my credit card. I have yet to hear from a supervisor or receive a refund. I personally would recommend contacting the Better Business Bureau, as I intend to do myself. (I did finally receive my refund, but still intend to contact the BBB due to the poor practices I encountered.) All things considered, I still would not recommend purchasing from this company."

"Response to stores reply: All my statements were true. Tell me where I lied? Yes the issues were finally finalized but why over 4 months to get a credit credited back and me having to involve AMEX and BBB to resolve?
Why did it take over 3 months to get a credit! Yet you take a day to charge?

My time wasted calling your reps, sending emails, than dealing with AMEX and THE BBB due to your companies bait and switch tactics was appalling.


Invoice # - 127939 that you purchased on 7/5/2007

the below are some details from my AMEX case against www.myshoestore.com --I was lied to several times on the phone (about time to recieve shoes, in stock when they were really out, etc.), 3 months overdue for a credit (amazing it takes them 3 months for a credit but only a day to charge your credit card without even sending the shoes).

to make it even better I requested 4+ times via email to be taken off their email send list, took the BBB to get me off their emails.
Note: I finally got the credit after 3 + months and involving AMEX and the BBB


SUMMARY: ON 6 08 (ORDER 1-$47.98) I PURCHASED 2 PAIRS SHOES FROM MYSHOESTORE.COM, AND I SHOULD HAVE SHOULD RECEIVED IN 2 WEEKS – OVER ONE MONTH AND 3 PHONE CALLS LATER RECEIVED THEM, BUT THEY WERE TOO SMALL, SO CALLED ON 7-05- WAS TOLD THE FASTEST WAY TO GET SHOES IN LARGER SIZE WAS TO ORDER AS NEW (ORDER 2 - $47.98), OTHERWISE A 2 WEEK WINDOW WOULD OCCUR. SO ORDERED NEW, AND WAS TO RECEIVE A CREDIT FOR THE FIRST SHOES (CREDIT 1- $47.98) UPON THEIR RECEIPT OF THEM BACK FROM ME. CREDIT #1 WAS RECEIVED 7-17.

NOTE THIS IS THE ONE CREDIT I RECEIVED (ON 7-17 FOR 47.98). I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE SHOES WERE IN STOCK AND SHOULD GET THEM IN A WEEK OR 2. WAITING ANOTHER 3 WEEKS AND NEVER GETTING THE ‘IN STOCK’ SHOES, I WAS TOLD FINALLY (AFTER A FEW CALLS) THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK (BEFORE OR ON ABOUT 7-26). I CANCELED THE ORDER AND RECEIVED THE ATTACHED EMAIL (on 7-26) STATING THEY CANCELED THE ORDER AND I SHOULD RECEIVE MY CREDIT (CREDIT #2-47.98) IN 7- 10 DAYS, I NEVER DID GET THAT CREDIT AND OPENED DISPUTE WITH AMEX, (AMEX CLOSED FIRST ONE IN ERROR, I –RE-OPENED) EXPLAINING THE ABOVE.

SUMMARY 2 ORDERS, 1 CREDIT AND NO SHOES. I AM OWED A CREDIT FOR #2 FOR 47.98.

NOTE: THAT THE 2ND ORDER WAS CANCELED ON 7-26 AND A CREDIT PROMISED 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER. THIS IS THE MISSING CREDIT. THE ONLY CREDIT WAS GIVEN 7-17

"I am having the same problems with this online seller as many others have described. I placed an order on Oct. 1, 2007 for a pair of shoes. I suspected that I might be in trouble when the confirmation e-mail stated that it could take up to 30 days to receive my order, but I decided to be patient and wait and see.

On Oct 18., I sent an e-mail to Customer Service inquiring about the status of my order. The return e-mail stated that my order had been cancelled and that it could take up to 30 days to post the credit to my card. When I sent an e-mail asking why it should take 30 days to post the refund when they had been able to charge my credit card on the day of the order, I received a very gruff reply from a Customer Service representative simply repeating the contents of the previous e-mail.

It is now Nov. 19 and my credit card has not been credited. So much for the posting of refunds within 30 days. If I do not receive a satisfactory response from myshoestore.com within 48 hours, I will be contacting my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau.

This online store should not be allowed to remain in business. They suck you in with offers of low prices, but they do not have shoes in stock. They charge your credit card on the day of the purchase, but are very slow to respond to refund requests after they cancel the order.

"I ordered a pair of mocassins on Nov 10 from Lord Johns. Website indicated most items shipped promptly if in stock and in "rare" cases might be 30 days. Eight days later with credit card charged and no update from company, I googled for complaints and found their resellerratings.com rating. I feel sick that I didn't check on these guys first.
New Hampshire Better Business shows Lord John's as less than desirable, with numerous unresolved complaints. Link is below:

"I writing this to warn people to AVOID ordering anything from this company. My credit card was charged the day it was ordered 9/25/07 and on 9/26 I recevied an e-mail that they had to cancel my order since they don't have the shoes I ordered in stock. They said it will take 30 days to refund my money. I called them on 10/26 to check on the refund and they said it's been processed. It was never posted to my credit card, so called again on 11/5 to check. They said they entered the amount wrong, so had to resubmit the transaction. I finally got my refund on 11/7, but it took 43 days. It seems that they fraudulently make money through the interest they earn on people's money, and advertise products they don't even carry. It's the worst on-line experience I've ever had. Don't order from this company!!"

"Plain and simple - these guys should not be in business (whether it be Lord John's or Myshoestore or whatever new name you want to take on to run from these bad reviews).

Mike - your business deserves EVERY harsh review it receives.

Consider my story - I placed an order on Sept 21st. I then tried to cancel it for 3 days! I finally got a response from your store on the 4th day but it was to tell me that you no longer carried the shoe and that YOU were cancelling the order. Next day - my credit card is charged! (you cancelled the order in effect!!!). I call the store to ask for my credit. I actually got a hold of someone and they told me that a credit would be issued in the next 30 days. It's Oct 16th now and there is no sign of a credit and I can't get a hold of anyone over there. Most places that care what their customers think of them issue credits within a couple of days of returning a product. AND they don't charge a customer until they actually send out the product!!!

You guys should not be in business. I hope this can be used by somebody who is vigilant enough to want to report you to the BBB or shut you down.

"I ordered a paid of shoes only on May 10th 2007. Everything went well. I received the shoes only to discover that they didn't fit. So I contacted their customer service and returned it and got a refund confirmation email on June 12 2007.

NEVER GOT MY MONEY BACK! Its now 8/7/07... its been a month! In their refund email (6/12/07), they stated "Your refund should post back to your credit card account within 7-10 business days." Its been like 20 business days.

If it wasn't for this, I would do business with them again but not anymore. AVOID THIS PLACE.

"I purchased a pair of shoes on May 29, 2007. After waiting two weeks contacted customer service. Their answer was they were waiting on a shipment. Another week goes by and it's the same answer. I contacted this store on July 23 and canceled my order. After numerous emails and phone calls, my credit card is still not credited - over a month after I canceled the order! This has been a horrible experience. Stay away from this store!"

"Stay away from this store, don't even think of
