"I purchased an a/c vent GPS mount from the Mount Guys and it was really small, a very nice design, and it worked really well. I was able to easily remove it when I traveled so I had it for my rental car. When I removed it from the vent in my rental car, I dropped one of the two clips and it went down the a/c vent. I thought I would have to buy whole another mount which was only $10 but I sent a quick email on a Sunday evening asking if they sold spare clips. About 2 minutes later, a reply message popped up and it was an answer to my question! They did sell spare clips for only $5.00 with FREE shipping. I have purchased several things from The Mount Guys and they have a huge selection of items on their well designed and easy to use web site. "I ordered a BENDY golf cart cupholder mount for my SkyCaddie 5 for my buddy's birthday. I received the mount in plenty of time and was elated, but then deflated when I thought I had received the wrong mount.

I emailed the company, explained the dilemma and that I needed the mount for his birthday party on Friday. They sent me a replacement mount and pre-paid return shipping label by priority mail without question and hesitation.

The replacement mount came in time for the party! Then I realized I had not looked at the original mount closely enough. I had the right one all along. Now, I had two of them.

I had emailed customer service before the purchase to ask if the sliding base tabs at the bottom of the unit would allow the charger jack and the cassette adapter jack to be plugged in at the same time.

I ordered and received the unit very promptly. Great shipping. However, when I tried to plug in the charger jack and the Sony cassette adapter jack at the same time... no dice. The bottom-right sliding tab is too fat to fit between the two jacks. Blecchhh!
I had to remove the right tab with a pair of wire-cutters so the cassette jack could fit.
The left tab still provides enough support to hold the Ipod in place.
I understand that MountGuys probably does not manufacture the unit and only distributes the product. They should have tested the product to see if it would pass my specification request.
So, my review is lukewarm at best. The product is nice, but flawed. MountGuys did a wonderful job of shipping the product quickly.
Just beware that the tabs on the bottom of MOST of the holders will not allow the charger jack and the cassette adapter jack to be plugged in at the same time.

"I was really disappointed with the service. Although my order was shipped promptly, when it arrived I found the screws they shipped were too short. When I called their customer service line to ask what the dimensions should be (so I can get the right ones at a local hardware store) the representative said they knew the screws were too short, but that I should just take them to the hardware store & have them figure it out.

Funny, I didn't buy the mount from the hardware store. And machine screws come in several different thread pitches (some metric, some standard dimensions). Buying the wrong one will strip out the Magellan socket these things have to fit into.

After a fruitless 5 minute conversation, I asked for a return authorization number so I could return my $40 piece of crap mount with useless hardware. They won't allow it, because they shipped the product I ordered. Even though they know it is an UNUSABLE product, they shipped it. Thankfully I used a credit card & I will reverse the charges ASAP."
