"These guys bring horrible service to an art form.

The latest--and last--issue with them was pre-ordering a product, not being sent the email asking me to confirm, calling them long after it was to have arrived, getting the wrong product sent, finding out that they knew they had sent the wrong product to everyone--but not telling anyone who didn't call--and having to send it back. If I hadn't caught the mistake, I'd have been stuck with the other, older, cheaper product (I had ordered a newer version of the product I was sent).

I've got more stories as well. I'm so gullible, but this is really it!

"Horrible experience. Sent me the right part but for the wrong phone. Customer service does not exist - yet they have no problem sending me online ads. I am stuck with back door for an EVO 4G - when I have a Droid Incredible. Had to spend another $15 from Siedio to get the right battery cover. Purchase this company at your own risk. "

"Ordered the Nokia 6700 classic black unlocked phone on 7/1. On 7/6, I was emailed that the phone is on backorder for 10 - 14 days and asked to consider switching to the chrome color or cancel the order. I emailed back to cancel unless definitely available in next 10 - 14 days. On 7/8, I received notice that the order was cancelled. I was never charged for the phone.

It is turning out to be frustrating ordering unlocked phones from online retailers, who can't seem to keep their online stock status up-to-date (the phone is now out-of-stock). Still, I appreciated the prompt and professional communication, and just as importantly, that they did not charge my credit card without verifying item availability. I may order from them again.

"Bought a wireless headset from them, and it was priced quite cheaper than a lot of other places. Called to confirm it was legit, and it was. The customer service rep (Louis?) was very cordial. IMO, shipping cost was a bit excessive, but that is probably not up to them. Website was easy to navigate as well. Very happy with purchase."

"I ordered a Sony Aino from Mobile City. Their web site stated that this was an import, but that it came with the included wireless MH100 remote and EC100 desk charger.

When the phone arrived, the charger and headphones were not included. Just a wall charger and wired headphones.

I called Mobile City to tell them I didn't receive the items listed on their web site and after checking, they agreed to send me a desk charger and wireless remote - nice of them.

Unfortunately, the phone did not include the apps (GoogleMaps, Twitter, etc.) that are on the 8 gig micro SD card that comes with the US version.

I just checked their web site, which they have now changed and now they don't list the desk charger or headphones with the Aino. Worst of all, they don't even list them for the US version, which all the other on-line sellers do include.

I found another on-line seller that has the US version with the headphones, desk charger, and 8 Gig card included for $349.00. Mobile City lists their US version (without any of the extras) for $409.00.

I really like the phone. However, I lucked out and you might want to look elsewhere to get the "whole" package.

"Bought a Nokia 6303. Well pleased with my purchased
got the 2 day shipping. Arrived 2 business day from Fedex! Ordered on Wed got it Friday From NY to CA.
First time buying from this company. Best priced anywhere including Ebay. This was the imported one which they also included the conversion adaptor for the U.S. Phone is brand new works great! Would buy from them in the future!

"Placed order for blue-ant speaker phone item showed up broken I sent the item back WITH a rma number waited and waited called today and ask where my money was told me " we had been waiting for you to call we don't have time to call you " then was told i was going to get charged a 25% restocking fee and lose shipping BOTH ways when THEY sent me a broken item I am contacting blue-ant at this time but do no deal with mobile city online"

"I ordered a Samsung Galaxy phone (import item) with overnight shipping. The shipping was very fast. The phone's box (not the outer package) had its seal broken, which is standard practice so that MobileCityOnline could insert a US plug adapter.

Later I had a problem with the phone and called Customer Service. The representative, Sarah, was very helpful.

"Perfectly happy with MobileCityOnline. Placed an order on August 27, 2009. Shipped the next day, and arrived the following Wednesday by Fedex. That was faster than I expected and product was exactly as advertised, no missing parts or anything wrong. Totally seamless transaction and I would order from them again in a heartbeat.

To the people that complain about having to call to verify a different ship-to address or add a different ship-to address to your credit card company profile, this is standard practice. Electronics retailers face a high-fraud environment and have to be careful so they do not lose merchandise to stolen credit cards. It's really not a big deal to just add another address to your card. They want to be sure you're not using a stolen card, and I can't fault them for that.

"1) The "notify when in stock" feature on the site is broken. I wanted a specific phone in a specific color which was evidently high in demand. All styles except one were in stock. The request on the specific style did not work.

2) Out of pure chance, I visited the site and viewed the style phone again and it was in stock. I placed me order quickly and it went through without any problems. I used Paypal.

3) Later that day I rechecked and the item went back on back order. I started worrying that my in-stock order wouldn't be honored, but I let it go.

4) That day they shipped it. So much for my fears.

5) Got it within expected time frame and it was brand new. I'm very happy with my phone. Some scumbag companies will remove accessories and swap out the battery for a fake, but these guys were really honest about it.

Will order again? I dunno... I'd like to! They shipped it "No redirect" which means if I'm not home to get it and sign for it, FedEx won't hold it for me to pick up and won't let me redirect to another address. After 3 failed attempts it would go back to the company. I was very lucky someone just happened to be home to sign for it. It just seems so anti-buyer that they didn't even want me to ask FedEx to hold it for me.

I'm happy with the service and their pricing and all, but I'm not sure I'm willing to risk having my stuff shipped back without me having any say in it.

"I bought an LG KP 500 Cookie from MobileCityOnline. I loved the phone, but hated thier customer service. I am apprehensive about buying from online companies – anyone can build a website these days and make unsupported claims. Well, I thought I was being smart by calling and making sure that I speak to a real person before placing the order. I had to call twice - the first time the sales representative hung up on me in mid call! When placing my order I was careful to ask questions concerning their fine print: “Contents in box may vary”. I specifically asked if the phone came with a MicroSD memory card. The sales representative was rushed and just answered, “Yes, are there any more questions?” I asked a couple of more questions and was given similar short, hasty responses. I thought I had a good shopping experience, until I received the phone and the MicroSD card was missing. I called the customer service number the next day. I spoke to a different representative and she said that since the website stated that the contents varied that there was absolutely nothing she could do. She admitted that the sales representative should not have made remarks about the contents of the box with a high degree of certainty. I feel extremely disappointed! I asked a specific question and received faulty information! And what is worse, is that the company refused to stand by the original assurance that was made on the phone. I feel ripped off! Beware of this company. If you buy something, just be prepared to be misinformed and to battle with poor, unprofessional customer service."

"STEER CLEAR OF MOBILE CITY ONLINE!

I placed my order on Saturday Nov 1 in hopes of receiving the product by the following weekend. On Monday afternoon I received a call to confirm my credit card info. Since I was told that, due to this delay, the item would not be shipped until the following day, the operator agreed to change the shipping address at this time.

As it turned out, I didn't receive shipping confirmation until late Tuesday evening. Unfortunately the address used was a convoluted mixture of the original and second address, guaranteed not to reach me. I emailed Customer Service immediately to inform them of their error. Late Wednesday, having received no reply, I wrote again to express my frustration and asked what would be done to correct the error.

On Thursday morning I received an emailed apology for the error, but no indication of what would be done. I replied that day, explaining my need to receive the product by the weekend and asking that another be expedited to the proper address ASAP.

By Sunday, November 9th I had received no reply. I wrote to ask for an update and to cancel my order if the unit had not yet been shipped to the proper address.

On Wednesday, still having received no word, I called the long distance customer service number. In my search for an update I was transferred three times, with each person telling me I should not have been transferred to them.

In the end I was told that the item had been returned and that my refund would be processed over the following two weeks. Most frustrating was the repeated ambiguous phrase "you will receive the amount you are entitled to" each time I tried to confirm that I would receive a full refund. No one was able to tell me how much they perceived me to be entitled to.

Today is Monday November 17th, more than two weeks after I placed my original order. I have yet to receive my refund or any further word.

I have, however, received the item from amazon.com for a lower price and with a total 3-day, hassle-free turnover. I should have gone to them in the first place.

UPDATE, NOV 21: Received an automated email asking for my review of the product and service I'd received 2 days after posting here. Sent my exasperated reply directly to the CEO, Victor Setton, mentioned in the email. Later that same day I received an apology and the promise of a full refund. The refund appeared in my account today.

Still dissatisfied overall, but believing in the CEO's good intentions. For others in my shoes, here is the email address I used:
