"My second Maingear! I'm a lifer! Fast, durable and dependable. My five year old tower is still running like a dream. I just bought a laptop for business after loving the tower at home."
"Shhheeeeessshhh... So I spent months reviewing Maingear and decided that the quality and customer service is worth the extra money I will ll be paying, compared to building my own.
$3500.00 later:
-A day after I paid for my Shift I received a 2% discount. I asked if I could receive credit for it. They said yes, I believe I did not receive the discount.
-Maingear does not advise you on the expiration date to redeem games, so be mindful of that so that you do not come back to an invalid coupon code because it expired. And! I spent a lot of time trying to recoup the games, which Maingear eventually provided.
-Starcraft II was glitchy, then I couldn't install or play other games because my OS would restart. The reason: my $900 GPU AMD Radeon HD 7990 doesn't work... hahahahah lol *fart noises* Maingear did help me with this issue and is ordering me new one.
All the problems that I've had have been resolved. Hence, I'm not upset but I am disappointed. We pay uber money for a uber product and service -I didn't get that. Chris Morley and Wallace Santos state they stress your system to make sure everything is working properly -that service didn't help me out. I have to wait 5 days for the new GPU or I can pay $35 expedite the service...hmmm? Is that quality service?
My experience might be an anomaly; if that's the case then my expectation is I should receive an unique service. I have had my "system" for less then a month, and due to the problems, my experience of having a bad-ass system has evaporated. I now have a system that created doubt in me. I could return it but I'll feel like a jackass. hmmm What do you think I should do? Are my expectations out of line?
-------------------------------------------------------------
After this review, I was emailed and had a conversation with Maingear. The rep provided quality customer service. I could tell he was trying to reduce/eliminate my disappointment with my experience. He did so with his words and action. I appreciated the effort. Thus I will increase my review ratings. I'm a happier customer.

"This is the second computer I'v ordered from Maingear. They have both been exceptional. I was able to customize to get exactly what I wanted. Customer Service responded quickly and knowledgably to my questions. I couldn't be more pleased, and will return to them when I need a new computer."
"Going on my 4th year of heavy daily use of my Shift (Intel-X58 MOB).
The exemplary build quality and consistent choice and delivery of quality components - literally every single screw, wire, board, card, etc - even the box it arrives in - fully reflects the careful assessment to deliver first class value. For example each of the six drive bays is fully prewired. so it is easy to add a new drive - you just plug into the bay and your running. And when I ordered in the initial build 2 SSDs to compliment the 2 hard drives, they even added a bracket and wiring so the two SSD's would occupy the same drive bay, leaving 3 bays available instead of just 2 - I didn't ask them to do that but I've needed the bays since then and am glad to have them all.
When I wished to upgrade a component and had to request their help, Jeremy gave all the time needed to solve an issue without ever rushing, or making me feel rushed, to get it done. Nor was there any effort to sell me anything. And the solution ended up being the spare parts they included in the original shipment 3+ years earlier!
I'll say again for emphasis - the machine has never had a down moment in nearly 24/7 constant use across a variety of tasks. All the best customer service and build quality and attention to detail doesn't really make up the difference if you have problems, even though we’d like to say it does. But when you have zero problems you know that earnest and pervasive customer service does make the difference.
Cost is a lot less relevant when value is essential. My Maingear was not inexpensive at the time but has been an incredible value, and fully conveys it will continue to be.

"I've had my Maingear Potenza for a month and am so far very pleased. I got a good Black Friday deal on a modest build and received the pc only within ten days of placing the order. The machine is well built and fast. It is a huge upgrade over my previous four year old pc. I loved that I could email or call Maingear with questions along the way, and get a knowledgeable person right on the line.
I love dealing with a small, boutique pc maker (who is within 30 miles of where I live, too). I contacted Maingear about six months prior to purchasing, and had good exchange with Chris Morley. When I saw the good holiday season deals, I went ahead and ordered, and other reps were also helpful.
I like that the machine is free of bloat ware and stocked with good parts, made locally let alone in the USA. When the time comes for a new laptop in the family, and if we stay with a windows based operating system, I would go again with Maingear.
Thanks!

"I've had my Maingear Shift since 2011 and it's by far the best PC I have ever owned. Prior to buying a Shift I had Alienware, Dell and HP's. Yes, I could probably build my own PC but I don't really feel like doing it. The craftsmanship of the final product was top notch. Wiring is laid out perfectly, the case is cooled very nicely by the unique flip of blowing air out the top. Another great point is that it's very quiet.
The customer service has been perfect as well. Each time I contact them they are very knowledgeable and helpful. One time my fan died in the PC so they replaced it at no cost. That was an expensive fan over $100!
I trust their brand and would highly recommend their product to anyone looking to have a pc built for them. "
"I ordered from Maingear for two main reasons, the computers were highly configurable and I could get Windows 7. Chris Morley was extremely helpful.
The desktop I ordered was custom built so it took some time to ship but Maingear kept me well informed about its progress and their website was clear that shipping would take a little time.
The machine I got better than I expected. There was zero crapware, just Windows 7 and the Microsoft antivirus program (which I requested), nothing I did not ask for. The design of the case was a little unusual with all the connections on the top but I can see the advantage of that in many scenarios.
The case was large with lots of room for expansion. I added five hard drives with no problems. They just slid into a slot with the wiring already in place so they literally were plug-and-play. The inside of the case was as cleanly designed and wired as I have ever seen.
My only (minor) disappointment was the lack of a printer port but that seems to be the trend with all computers so I cannot blame Maingear for that. I would definitely buy from them again."
"Sincerely the best pc Ive ever bought! These people are amazing from the sales people to the product! I have already recommended it to my friends, family and colleges.

"Bought a Vybe [Best} Computer on Black Friday Weekend of 2013. PC was delivered the day Maingear promised it would ship. I received updates on the build status. My hotmail account pegged emails from Maingear as potentially fraudulent. This was not the case. I did not receive my t-shirt or a promotional game I was promised. However, I have recommended Maingear to several friends as the PC I received is amazing. I did not buy the Vybe for a T shirt or for the game Grid 2. I bought it because all the hardware was compatible with each each other. I had a bad experience with Dell several years ago where the HD was not compatible with the Motherboard creating a plethora of problems and a Laptop that lasted less than 2 yrs. I will always have a SSD for life and will buy another Maingear PC when the time comes."
"I had never used MainGear before this purchase. I had found my last two PCs both melted (graphics card failures) after about 2 years, so I had determined I wouldn't use the previous company again. MainGear seemed to be an honorable and responsive company (from research), so I placed my order. The system shipped a week earlier than originally scheduled (I expect they do Scotty scheduling...multiply estimates by a factor of X, to avoid disappointment), but it's always nice to get something earlier.
My system came in, and was unboxed. I was quite literally awestruck by their wiring job (I wanted to put in another drive and another ssd that I had from old pc) and hated to modify it to add the new hardware...it was so nice and clean. I made it slightly more messy (sigh).
The system performs really good on all games I've used it on (quite outperforming my 2 yr old pc). I hope it holds up well!
In all inquiries, Maingear has been quite responsive.
Oh, another note....I don't give 5 star ratings unless my socks were blown off."
"This latest one (a Nomad 15 laptop for my wife) is my fifth Maingear. I also have another Nomad 15 (for my younger son), an ex-L 15 Superstock laptop (my older son), an ex-L 15 laptop (mine) and a Shift Superstock 6 desktop (also mine). The first one was purchased in early 2011, and is still my primary desktop and is still doing all it was designed to do! The laptops are also the primary computers for me, my wife, and 2 sons. (only my daughter still lacks a Maingear, which I will correct soon!). Needless to say, I am always extremely happy with Maingear. Any problems (e.g., we had a backlit keyboard that had problems) were immediately fixed, and service turn around was surprisingly fast. Three of the systems above use various Linux distros, and Maingears are great under those OS's. A couple of the laptops are in use nearly at all times, always run clean. "
"Ordered a MAINGEAR Nomad 17 'Better' laptop with Windows 8.1 on November 12, 2013.
Received order confirmation email same day.
Received another email on November 13, 2013 stating delivery expected by 11/27/2013.Received no email updates after that but did receive quick reply via online Maingear account as to order status when I requested such. Computer arrived on time. Well packaged. No package damage, no computer damage. Have had no problems thus far and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new computer to check out the MAINGEAR web site.
This laptop is beautiful to behold, love the lid color too 'Vertical Blue Mica' and yes it performs well too. A heavy laptop, not really all that portable but no problem there as purchased to replace an aged desktop that could no longer be be upgraded. Seriously considering purchasing a desktop from MAINGEAR. Thanks MAINGEAR for a truly great laptop that performs as advertised."
"I wanted to buy a basic computer for our home office but did not want to order from the ubiquitous manufacturers that most everyone has dealt with in the past. After researching a few boutique builders in the US, I decided to order a fairly entry level X-Cube from Maingear. When it arrived, everything was pre-configured with no bloatware, and the instruction manual was humorously written, which I found refreshing. I am capable of building my own machine, but chose to pay someone else to do it this time, and I have been very happy with my purchase. In a sentence: A well built machine that does what it was advertised to do."
"I ordered a Potenza "super stock" on 10/30 and it shipped on schedule 2 weeks later. They recommended Fed-Ex home delivery and the box was unscathed. My machine was packaged well inside and did not have any shipping damage. Specs: i4770k @ 4ghz, 16GB RAM, GTX 780, and 250GB SSD with Windows 8.1. I have been playing multi-player BF4 at 19x12 with max settings without issue. I have been happy with my purchase. It is hard to beat the value of this system when you compare it to similar configurations from other builders."
"I bought the Alpha 24 about 6-7 months ago, and my experience with the computer itself has been outstanding. Smooth, beautiful design has never been my priority, but the machine exceeds anything else on the market. In terms of pure power, the system can take all of my abuse. I work from home using some fairly cpu intensive programs, use it for my gaming needs, and everything in between. I'm not particularly tech savvy, but with this, I don't feel like I need to be.
Perhaps most important of all, the customer service and support is spectacular. Having worked in CS positions before, I know how difficult it is dealing with the same questions from incompetent (me) people day in and day out. They treated be exceedingly well. I had a small issue with my driver, and everything was taken care if quickly, professionally, and with a high degree of care on their end. I can't recommend MAINGEAR enough. There are three things a successful business strives for to dominate a market, price, quality, and support. Very few companies are lucky enough to lead the field in two of these, MAINGEAR leads in all three.
P.S. Give Ron a raise or something, cause that guy is awesome!"
"I really can't say enough about Maingear. I recently purchased the F131 best configuration with some personal upgrades. The ordering online was easy and thorough. During the build Maingear did a great job of keeping me informed of the status of my system, which I greatly appreciated. The shipping was also very timely. When I pulled this beautiful machine out of the box I was so excited, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for a week. I've been gaming with it for about a month now, and I just love it. Being that this is my first gaming desktop and I really don't have any serious gaming friends, I did extensive research before choosing Maingear. I am so happy that I did choose Maingear. I'm still planning to give Maingear a call to let them know how satisfied I am with my system. Maingear gets a A+ from this very satisfied customer, and I would recommend Maingear systems to anyone that is looking for a quality system from a quality company."
