"We paid over $4000 total with labor to get flooring from Lumber Liquidators. It was supposed to have a thirty year warranty (yeah right).

A year later the floor is garbage. It is full of chips and dents and they won't honor one dime of warranty. We were told in the store about "how high quality this floor is" and "how they use it in there entryways." They lied. We got sold junk.

Lumber liquidators is a scam and a lie. There warranties are not worth the paper they are written on. We went through their entire warranty process and they told us to stick it.

They suck, they suck, they suck.Next time, I'll go to Lowes.

"I went into the Lumber Liqdtrs in Houston off of Sam Houston Pkwy. Service was mediocre but more than that the staff didn't know more than I did about squat. Funny enough, there was a place next door called Monster Flooring. The mgr there, Sam, knew his stuff. In fact, I was blown away, not only by his product knowledge but also by the prices. I had a big renovation project at 1,077 sq ft. I saved more than $1500. If you want to check them out go to: www.monsterflooringsale.com

"Save yourself a major headache by running as quickly in the other direction as if your hair was on fire! I have had all of very same issues with my floor and it continues to get worse! I sent pics, documentation, and they even wrote up a new set of installation/warranty info that differed from the original instructions that came in the box, there were also two boxes that we could not use because they were defective. I got a robo denial letter dated the DAY BEFORE I submitted any documentation. We then got a letter dated 11 days after that stating that their employee made an error. I filed complaints with the BBB and AG's office in VA.. if anyone else is interested in a class action suit email me @****@****, because I am out to shut this company down if it is the last thing I do. Too many people have been screwed over by these jerks!! I fully intend to sue them, there is strength in numbers so email me, I live in FL. Totally outraged at what they have done to so many other hardworking people that saved for a long time just to try and beautify their home. Sincerely, Kate Olen, Kissimmee,FL"

"Yeah, big mistake going with Lumber Liquidators. If you use one of their installers and they are a bunch of hacks, you are pretty much on your own. Our installer didn't estimate the right quantity of wood. talked us into using other wood in the closets and was still short! He then fled the scene and expects to be called back once we have more wood. LL is no where to be found to resolve this. We are now 1 month into this and we still have an uncompleted floor. Save yourself the trouble, spend a little extra a use a local floor company. ll is the worst. Never again!"

"Overall experience was OK. You are kind of lured to their store by what I would call an add that grabs your attention and promises all kinds of low prices. Their ads make it look as though everything they have in their store is on sale, which is NOT the case. They only have a limited amount of wood that is on sale, "Oh, yes, our sale items are on this little wall here"! They do have an awesome selection of all types of wood, laminate floors.
We decided on Virginia Mills scraped wood floor and paid $4.89 a square foot after a hard fought discount of 10 cents a square foot. The floor that we were to cover was 330 square feet, and the salesman told me that you really should purchase at least 10 percent more, just to make sure that you have enough due to waste, damaged pieces...etc...so we ended up ordering 360 square foot . It took 10 days for them to call us, which I thought was reasonable.
When I picked up the flooring and paid the balance, I realized then that we were picking up 29 boxes, so I asked the salesman, would they take back unused boxes, and he told me yes, but there was a 20% restock fee on the first box ONLY, then full refund on any other. He told me that verbatim. I noticed that as we were loading the flooring onto the truck that Virginia Mills was actually located in China. The floor went together great, and my wife and I who had never laid floor before, had no problem doing what I consider to be a great job.
When we took the 3 unused, unopened boxes back, which came out to be around 60 dollars a box, I learned that what I had been told previously about the restock fee on the first box only, was incorrect, and that it applied to all boxes. After arguing with the fellow for a few minutes I decided not to allow my blood pressure to rise over 25 bucks and we left. However, they talk you into buying extra, then charge you another 20 percent on what you don't use...that is a rip off!
If you need wood flooring, might give them a try, but if you have to drive further than 30 minutes to the nearest LL, don't bother, go to Lowe's. They have a decent selection, and probably won't charge you a 20 percent restock fee on unopened returns.

"Worst company to do business with. I ordered some clearance hardwood. This was the worst odd and end items, I have ever seen. Most of the wood was defected. I have 5 boxes that could not be used, because so many were defected. I really did not know I was receiving so many usable wood pieces. Not happy with this company. My floor will have to be replaced soon. I wrote to times to customer service. No reply."

"If a 0 rating was available that is what I would give Lumber Liquidators. Purchased bamboo flooring in Albuquerque NM and was never given any information that it requires a 30-50 percent humidity level to maintain in a region of the country that has less than 10percent most days of the year. This is the worst customer service at a corporate level I have ever experienced. They blame everyone but themselves for problems, they send "inspectors" out that lie about the results, they send you from one person to another to get answers that no one has. The store manager and assistant manager of the Albuquerque store have no business being in wood, they know nothing about what issues are going on or about the wood flooring products they are selling. We are not the only ones having issues with the same product and yet the corporate office has told me that there are no other complaints and the same "inspector" have been to a house just recently that did ours. We have up to 1/2" separation of panels, sent pictures to them and still we get the "it is your problem" attitude with the company. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. Go with the big stores that will acknowledge your issues and take care of them as Lumber Liquidators will just pass the buck to others and not take care of you and back up their poducts. As others, spent over $4000 to try to make my home beautiful and due to the lack of knowledge of the sales person of the area I live in, this product should never have been sold in this area to anyone to have the experience I am going through."

"I see lots and lots of bad reviews on lumber liquidators and I do agree with all the bad reviews. Our company did many jobs for them and lots went bad due to their bad products. They are not willing to stand behind the product once it is down they will bring it back on to the installer. What I'm looking for is some people to step forward and get in contact with me so when our company takes them to court we have proof others are not satisified with them. You don't have to go to court but a quick email to me on what your problem is with them would help. Thank You hope to hear from a lot of people soon..you can contact me at ****@****"

"DON'T BUY FROM LUMBER LIQUIDATORS!
Customer care is a joke. They do not care about customer satisfaction only about covering themselves at all cost. I was sold a laminate floor that I was told was durable and dependable. This floor cost us thousands of dollars and LL made no hesitation in taking the cash. While cleaning up after the install (by their recommended installer) we notice splintering in the floor in many, many places. The splinters were catching on our floor sweeper cloth. Mind you we noticed within hours of the installer leaving there was a problem. We lodged a complaint and it took weeks to get LL to get all the right paperwork to me. They require me to submit a release, photographs, etc. which I did. Guess what after 5 days I received standard form denial letter saying it was not a manufacture issues and therefore not covered. I continued to complain and finally they agreed to bring in an inspector –after the inspection I was told that our problem is something that occurred in the home and is not covered by warranty. A typical rip off line for a big company! The woman in customer care (Karina) would not tell me her last name and told me this was my issue and that LL is not responsible. More or less...we are STUCK with a product that is clearly damaged and manufactured incorrectly and LL could care less.
The installer is also baffled and agrees this is a product defect not an installation problem. I am considering my own independent inspector and then taking them to small claims court.

"Terrible sales and customer service. They failed to inform me of specific humidity issues I might encounter with the product I recently bought. The head office headed by Holly and Dennis run a customer service department that is firstly robotic, secondly rude in their response to my concerns.

Although my duplex neighbor has laminate flooring (not purchased at LL)that lays flat during the heat of the summer months, my flooring (purchased at LL in San Diego) continues to buckle severely after 4 ATTEMPTS AT CUTTING EXCESS FLOORING AWAY.

LL refuses to take responsibility for their product and sales. This has been a terrible experience from start to finish.

"I wish I had known about this site prior to purchasing from them. My husband and I took a piece of equipment to Memphis TN and on the return trip stopped in Longmont CO and purchased over 1100 square feet of the carbonized bamboo hardwood flooring in the honey or dark color. This was for a home we were going to build. We recently got to the floor and installed about half the boxes and were finishing a bedroom when we discovered that the other half of the boxes were in the natural bamboo which is much much lighter in color. We contacted the person in Longmont and he was right on the ball and offered to send a box to finish the room we were in as we had people coming to stay. I called him back with all the information requested and he said he would get right back to me. He didn't and after two days of calling and finding he was not in the store but would be in tomorrow we gave up. I contacted the complaint department directly and gave them the details of having two different colors of bamboo. This was not a variation in color but two completely different colors. After several emails Dana finally admitted that the darker bamboo color was discontinued. I found the identical stuff at Menards at a slightly higher cost but with a 35 year warranty instead of 15.
I let Dana know that there was still the same bamboo available and she started again with the color variation after she admitted that the stuff I needed was unavailable. She then told me that they had never sold the type I had. What a bunch of lies and runaround and I just said enough and I would report them to the better business bureau. I now have half a load of much lighter bamboo which I will have to use in my next house. Believe me I won't buy the extra I need from Lumber Liquidators but will purchase from Menards where I do get some customer service and is only 90 miles away not 250 miles.
I sure hope that the flooring holds up as there have been so many complaints about it scratching easily. It looks beautiful but takes a little work to get some of them down as the seem to be a bit warped. Too bad that the word can't get out that Lumber Liquidators is not a reputable dealer and should be avoided at all costs.

"The look of the hardwood is very nice when it's finished...but we had to throw out about 5-8% of the purchased hardwood due to defects. This stuff was pretty expensive too!! Can't imagine the quality of the $.89/sq ft stuff! Denver's Customer Service is just plain TERRIBLE!! They don't really seem to care about pleasing the customer! Another reviewer mentioned that it "seems like a chore for them to help you." 100% agree with that statement! Purchased the flooring one day for $5.99/ft, a week later it was on sale for $5.49/ft and they "couldn't" do a price adjustment or anything :( Come on Lumber Liquidators! By the way, don't bother trying to call...they'll just put you on hold for 15-30 minutes!!"

"I saw several bad reviews of Lumber Liquidators & felt compelled to add my experience.

My wife & I chose a manufactured wood floor, maple. The installers started their work. When I inspected the small piece they did in our living room, began questioning the quality. The most obvious problem was "cupping". This is where the edges of the boards are raised where they meet side by side & the center of the board is dipped. My installers were amateurs & invited an expert to come in & assess the situation. He pointed out that the flaws were not only with the installers but the material itself. He recommended that we change to a 3/4 solid wood material.

I called LL in Sacramento & spoke with Mark, the store manager. Mark said he would exchange the boards 1,400 sq. feet worth. The installer advised that it would be best to make sure the wood came from the factory back east rather than getting something fast from some local warehouse in order to get the best quality. Bad news, we had to wait 3 weeks to get it. Good news, it was worth the wait! Another piece of good news... The solid WOOD flooring was CHEAPER than the manufactured material. We even got a credit toward the new wood.

The expert installers are finishing our floor & it looks GREAT! Mark was very helpful in fixing what could have been a horrible situation & made it right! We highly recommend LL.
