"Wow! What a horrible company to work with. I'm utterly amazed that any company with such a big name could be SO bad at what they do. Their customer service is ridiculous. I read reviews before I bought from them, but was sure everyone had to be exaggerating how bad LL is. Nope. The reviews are correct. I wish I'd paid a couple of hundred dollars more and bought from another company. Seriously, it would be worth it not to have to deal with their TERRIBLE employees. Undereducated. Poor people skills. Computer/ordering errors all the time. Never double check their work. They didn't have what I needed in stock. No big deal. But, it took them weeks longer than the other companies I was working with to get their items in, even though they had more than enough at another of their stores just an hour away. Their sales reps just waved me over to the section I asked about, instead of walking over and explaining it to me. Even when I asked for additional information, the sales rep just said "oh, what you see is what you get." What is that supposed to mean? I want specific answers to specific questions. To cap it all off, they were seriously rude to my kids, who were being very well behaved in the store. Every time I called, the store the reps sounded hassled and weren't interested in finding the information I needed, just interested in getting me off the phone. I'm not out to waste anyone's time. I consider myself to be very professional and courteous to work with, but they sure weren't. In the end, the reducers I ordered weren't the right color, even though I saw the samples in person in the store. It was SO not worth the 3 trips and countless phone calls I made to them. Please save yourself the time, headache, and money in investing in flooring from this company. I know it's less expensive than other companies. Usually that is my first consideration when purchasing something. Not anymore. You want flooring you will be pleased with, right? You won't be pleased with this. "

"DON'T BUY FROM LUMBER LIQUIDATORS.
Customer care is all about pacification while ignoring the real problem. I was sold a laminate floor that gets immediate water damage. Some ice cubes fell on the floor in our dining room...we thought we picked them all off the floor when we noticed a seam bubble. We then took two pieces of scrap flooring and locked them together. We pored exactly two ounces of water in the seam and in twenty minutes the seam bubbled. This floor cost us 4700.00 dollars and LL made no hesitation in taking the cash. We bought the flooring because it was durable....we lodged a complaint and was told that our problem is not covered by warranty. A typical rip off line for a big company....the people in customer care wont even tell you their last name..indicating to me that they have many customer problems...more or less...we are STUCK with a product that can be destroyed in twenty minutes and LL could care less.

"After the sale, they couldn't care if you lived or died. Offered no help or suggestions regarding scratching, although when picking a product, was directed to the St. James - Best of the Laminates, you can't hurt it. Well guess what, the gloss is easily scratched. When asked about it, the comment was - you just installed it, and you scratched it already. Then asked - anything you can suggest to help - NO."

"Purchased 80 Sq yards of 3/8" red oak. Then went back to buy the trim pieces found out they did not MAKE trim pieces for the 3/8" product. Cannot even order them. I don't know what they thought I would do without them. The good news is I was told they may have them in the future. WOW what a great (not) company.

I am going to try and return this stuff in the AM wish me luck

"I was sold a closeout lot of 3/8 solid hardwood with a 10yr. surface finish warranty at the Nashville store. At no time prior to purchase was it disclosed to me that it is a so called "odd" lot. Out of the 1080sft lot over 400sft had surface defects and could not be used. Of corse no replacement could be found so I'm left w/out a floor. Only after calling the corporate office could I return the product and get a 90% refund. Take your business somewere else! Horrible customer service!"

"DO NOT USE LUMBER LIQUIDATORS! I purchased strand bamboo flooring by Morning Star from the Auburn, Maine store. It was in stock. I went in intending to purchase another product and was steered to this particular bamboo by a salesman. I asked at the time of sale if there was anything I needed to know about the product, this is a standard question I ask about everything I purchase for the remodel. He said the only thing was the addition of an underlayment pad which my installer used. My installer started laying and discovered his nailer was causing dimpling. He called LL and Corporate stated dimpling has been an ongoing problem and to use a 50P nailer. The installer went out and got a 50P nailer and again there was pronounced dimpling though not quite as bad. This time I called Corporate and was transferred to Michelle. She had a well rehearsed attitude issue and told me we should have glued it down, but she would speak with her supervisior. I told her the website says nail or glue. I received a letter yesterday. after 5 days of trying to speak with someone higher up in customer service, that stated we should have pre drilled and then nailed. They also threw in we used more than 50% of the product which is completely false. Lumber Liquidator's letter stated they would not take any responsibility. Needless to say my installer ,who has a stellar reputation that has been sullied by LL is furious. BTW he has laid 1600 sf of bamboo from another supplier in my house without issue. Lumber Liquidators is not a good company they have foisted a defective product on the public rather than dealing with their supplier as a reliable company with pride would do. "

"Bought a huge amount of Brazillian Walnut hardwood for our living room (25x16) They suggested I buy 10% extra which I had no problem with. I acclimated it to the room for 3 months (while my back surgery healed). Used the best underlament they sold on top of 2 thicknesses of 5/8" subflooring on top of 2 x 10's 16" on center spanning only 12 feet. My humidity in the house is always consistant 40-50% regardless of season. In reality I should have bought 30-35% more than what I needed. The width of the boards were not even close to being consistant. They are supposed to be 3 1/2" width. But in reality they are from 3 1/2" down to 3 1/4's. 1/32" I could love with but 1/4 inch varience is way to much especially considering it was "Bellawood flooring" I got to a point where I was measuring ever piece at both ends, becaus ethey would even taper from 3 1/2 down to 3 1/4" on a 5 foot board. Doing the best I could I still look at it daily and wish I had stopped after the first case or 2 and returned the whole lot.
Now I am mixing sawdust created from the wood mixed with polyurethane to fill all teh voids in the floor. It's taking me more time to make it look as if there were no defects then laying down the floor to begin with. I am very perticular and it took me 2 weeks to lay down that amount of flooring while spending vacation time to do so. If it wasn't for the fact that we spent $2,500 on the materials I would probably rip it up and start from scratch with new hardwood...not from lumber liquidators.

"I'm having a similar experience to all the customers that have products that are defective, and Lumber Liquidators refuses to stand by their warranty. Don't buy from this company!

Within a few months of installation, my entire floor of Durawood Casa de Colour Butter Rum Oak is warping/ cupping although my installer took all the precautions including a separate sub floor. Lumber Liquidators states that they won't honor warranty due to moisture such as leaking pipes, spills, etc. but none of these applies to my installation. My contractor is willing to refinish the floor but this is a product defect not an installation problem. They say I need to get an engineer to state that it's a product defect. I am considering that course of action, then taking them to small claims court.

These people should be put out of business.

"Do not buy from this company. We ordered flooring that was on sale and it took 6 weeks to get the product. And only after I called twice for status. Also the contractor who is recommended by them (probably a division) and did the measurements apparently got it wrong as we have over 36 sq feet (3 unopened boxes) left over which is about $75.00 worth of product. They also shipped us 12 bottles of floor cleaner worth $60.00 which was not necessary. They refuse to take back any of the unneeded products and also blame the contractor for ordering wrong when in fact they shipped wrong. Not very professional or customer service orientated. Never had this problem with Home Depot or Lowes which I have bought flooring from before. Will never use these people again."

"February 2012. Our experience with Lumber Liquidatiors was very good. Ordered solid wood flooring in November 2011. Was delivered about two weeks late which was okay. Installation was scheduled for Jan 5, 2012. Installation was completed in two days. Flooring is beautiful. From our experience, we have nothing but good things to say about Lumber Liquidators."

"Horrible Business. Will not honor their warranty.

BE WARNED as others have noted. Bought 3k worth of Cobra Bamboo on advice of Rob, Asst. Manager at their HQ in Toano, VA. Told floor was durable (showed Janka hardness rating in LL Book) and covered by warranty. Floor is horrible, no embellishment a standard cardboad shirt box scratched the floor.

Called their customer care, and required to submit a release, photographs, etc. which I did. Guess what after 5 days received standard form denial letter.

STAY AWAY FROM LUMBER LIQUIDATORS. They will sell you in a second but do not stand behind their product. Guess what the manufacturer of the Bamboo floor was Morningstar which is owned by Lumber Liquidators.

"Lumber Liquidators has been the worst company I have ever done business with. I purchased hardwood flooring though the Lumber Liquidators store at 18448 N US Highway 41 Luts Florida. Lumber Liquidators recommended I use their installers, The Floor Pro's owned by Arthur Rosian. Rosian was rude, obnoxious and aggressive when speaking with me. The floor completely failed after 3 days. Lumber Liquidators, The Floor Pro's and HSS their insurance company refused to fix the floor leaving me with a totally failed floor. Do your self a favor do not buy from Lumber Liquidators or have The Floor Pro's install ANYTHING."

"I work in retail customer service and it is my job to evaluate employees for their competence. If I was evaluating Lumbar Liquidators performance by the guidelines of the company I work for I would terminate them. At all occasions where I had interactions with another person representing Lumber Liquidators the interaction was disconnected and aloof. It seemed as though it was a chore to help me. The company policies are designed to foster a TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT business model that is more concerned with satisfying Lumber Liquidators needs rather than the needs of the customer. I had a return and was told it would be 3 to 5 weeks to receive my refund in the mail. While no company can ever be so concerned with customer satisfaction they go bankrupt Lumber Liquidators makes does not even try and it obvious they don’t want to. I will never buy from them again. Sure the pricing was good but at the end of the day the grief cost me so much more."
