WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO PROCESSES, DID NOT DELIVER PRODUCT AND UNABLE TO CANCEL

"HORRIBLE SERVICE !! I WISH THERE WAS A ZERO OR NEGATIVE RATING FOR THIS BUSINESS. ORDERED A POOL SLIDE IN MARCH WITH A DELIVERY DATE OF 5 DAYS FOR MY SON'S BIRTHDAY. THE DELIVERY DATE KEPT ON GETTING PUSHED OUT. AFTER 4-5 WEEKS I CONTACTED THEIR SERVICE DEPT AND SPOKE TO THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN (MAX LIN). HE WAS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE ME ANY INFORMATION ON WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE ORDER. KEPT ON REPEATING
- IT IS EITHER THE SUPPLIER FAULT
- IT IS THE CARRIER FAULT
- IT IS SOMEHOW MY(CUSTOMERS) FAULT

THEN OUT OF THE BLUE GAVE ME A JUNE DELIVERY DATE. I IMMEDIATELY ASKED TO CANCEL THE ORDER AND THEN HE SAID HE IS FOLLOWING THE LESLIE COMPANY PROCESSES AND CANNOT EVEN CANCEL THE ORDER. I WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE PRODUCT TO BE DELIVERED. UNREAL CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THIS AGE. NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.

Poor customer service

"
Would NOT recommend anyone purchase a custom pool cover from Leslies. I'm a new pool owner and have purchased a lot from Leslies. We purchased a custom pool cover in October with a 4-5 week estimate... it took 8 weeks to be delivered to Leslies and then another 6 weeks to have it installed. Worse, when it was installed, it was cut incorrectly and had multiple holes and snags in it.
With all these issues, I asked Leslies if I could return the cover and purchase the more expensive (thicker) option (I was willing to pay the difference in costs)... I was told no, I couldn't return the defective cover - they'd send it back, have it cut correctly and fix the holes. I don't think this is satisfactory as I really question the quality of the cover if they can't put it on without putting holes and snags in the cover. Worse, I was told multiple times that I had to contact the manufacturer of the cover (that never returned my phone calls)
I question if I will ever purchase from Leslies again (I've spent well over $5K in the past 7 months) as they really aren't focused on customer service (in my opinion) - they could have easily made this right.

Incompetent #$&@s

"If their service department was local, i would be there in person. Over two months waiting for parts. I have called them periodically to get a status with the promise of a callback. Never received one. Today after a fifteen minute hold, clown lady says the parts aren’t available for anothe two plus months. I told her what i thought of her incompetent company, and then i ordered the parts myself from Amazon. They will be here in three days.

Stay away from these incompetent clowns.

miserable service

"After using leslie pool supplies for many years I will no longer use them. For the third time in a row I was met by miserable store employees who seemed bothered that I needed to get my water tested. I then had to listen constant complaining about the new management. I find it
amazing that people get upset about doing their job. I will not be back.

Expensive poor quality products

"Purchased a Super Clear model 20-868 vacuum head for $50. I did not leave it out in the sun and did not use it very often. After two years, the swivel hose adapter broke off. I was willing to purchase a replacement part. Leslie's has many parts except the part that broke and offered to sell me a completely new vacuum head for $40. Why would i buy anything from a company that does not back their products? BTW - i can buy their $40 head for $25 from US Pool Supply online. It seems that most everything that Leslie's sells is way overpriced. I will never go back to Leslie's."

Poor Pool Service Department

"I don’t generally take time to write reviews and won’t do justice on this one because I could go on and on. I will never, under any circumstance use Leslie’s Pool service again. I should have learned my lesson years ago. They replaced (I paid for) a filter motor that was only a few years old. To their credit when the subsequent motors burned out they usually replaced them on warranty at no charge. My pool is not quite 9 years old and I’m on my 8th motor today. I called them in February (2020) and told them the motor they installed last year was going bad. After a rude tech came out on February 13 they sent a very nice tech on February 17 and he admitted the motor had gone or was going bad. We discussed my issue with going through 1-2 motors a year and I told him I had decided to pay an electrician to come out to review the system to see if there was an issue so we could resolve the issue once and for all. He thought that was a great idea and said just notify the store when the electrician is done and we will schedule the motor replacement. It took a couple of weeks to get the electrician out and then back to install a new updated breaker but there were no electrical issues he could identify. I informed the store the electrician was done and I was ready for the motor replacement. No one called back. After a few weeks I informed the store again (I go in the store nearly weekly) and they told me to call the toll free service number. We were in the midst of the COVID-19 situation so I understood a slow response (even if it is standard operating procedure). Leslie’s called to set up an appointment. I stayed home from work since the tech was to arrive 8:00am-noon. Around 10:00 I got a call and was told he wouldn’t be coming that day as he was ill. We reset the date and then they called a few days later and changed the date again. When the service manager came out on June 12 he was familiar with my history as he had been there before. He mentioned that it had been one year and one day since the last motor was installed and I said, “Yea, but I called in February.” I also mentioned to him that I was still getting sand in my pool from the sand filter. Leslie’s had replaced the sand and replaced the filter laterals a two-three years ago but it didn’t resolve the sand problem. Another tech came out and said the wrong laterals were installed and he was surprised the filter would operate. I continued to get sand in the pool and mentioned it to the service manager and even asked him about replacing the sand filter with a cartridge filter. He said he’d order the replacement motor and check on the price for cartridge filter and get back to me. I’m still waiting to hear from him. On June 30 my wife got a call (even though I told them to call me) from a tech named Charlie who said he was on his way to our house with the replacement motor and detailed to her what it was going to cost “because it was no longer covered by warranty.” I had my wife call him and tell him not to come and that I wanted the service manager to call me. The service manager did not call. Charlie sent me a text telling me I needed to call Brian Connolly at Leslie’s Pool to discuss the warranty issue. I called Brian, I believe on July 1 and I am still waiting for a return call (today is July 29). In the interim I have found a reputable pool service company that has replaced the filter, pump and motor. They told me one of the laterals was broken which is why I continued to have sand in the pool. Since the sand issue never went away after Leslie’s replaced the laterals twice, they must have broken the lateral or put a broken lateral in when they charged me to replace the laterals. Believe it or not, this is a condensed version of my issues with Leslie’s Pool Supply service. It doesn’t cover the last 5-7 years, the number of missed or changed appointments and more."

Online purchase scam

"As a new pool owner, I purchased a 2hp dual speed pump and 22" sand filter combo in summer of 2018. The hp and sf are blank on the motor cert. with no hp identification anywhere. I felt my lower speed was weak but again I'm a new owner so what do I know. I was having a timer installed this weekend and I needed a flow rate or the GPM/GPH for the pump. That information is left off the the pump identification sticker as well. So I decided to Google everything on this label until I found something. What I discovered is the pump they sent me is not 2hp. They sent me a cheaper pump that is 1.5hp. Which totally explains so much! I'm using a pump that is not rated for my larger filter.. which explains pool water issues. Also I can not use the lower speed as it barely moves any water, using .17 hp instead of .75 hp. I looked at my receipt and it clearly states I purchased the 2 hp dual speed package. Had I purchased the 1.5 hp and 18" filter it would be too small for my 25,000 gal pool and toys. I contacted Leslie and they want to make it right.. they want me to purchase another pump so they can give me a discount?? FAT CHANCE! I won't purchase anything from a company I can not trust. This pump is running fine, its only downfall is it's not strong enough and its not what i paid for! The fact that its taken me almost 2 years to discover is due to the lack of info on the pump.
The big question.. how many times does this happen a week or month ? How many people have purchased pumps with no identification and assume they have what they actually paid for? This has to be a very profitable business in doing so. I was an unsuspecting buyer. This is not acceptable. I dont feel Its a coincidence the only info missing is the info that have helped calculate the effectiveness of the pump and size/speed
Take care consumers

Repairs Without Authorization

"I took my Hayward cleaner to Leslie Pool Supply at Power and McDowell in Mesa with a hose tangling issue. The manager took the cleaner apart, and without asking me, replaced a small plastic gear and small rubber housing part and put the cleaner together.

He then walked over to the register and said the parts come to $75. I was never once asked if I wanted these parts replaced as all I wanted to know was what is needed to get it fixed. My cleaner is over 9 years old, so it did not make sense to put that much money into it so I asked how much a new cleaner was. Cost would be $429 less $100 Hayward rebate. I wanted to purchase the new cleaner then; however, they were out of stock and I was told new ones are already on order.

The manager removed the new parts from my old cleaner and put the old parts back in, but the cleaner gears were now locked rendering the cleaner useless. The cleaner wasn't working 100% when I bought it in as it tangled often, but it still worked. I let the manager know about this and his exact words to me were, "It is what it is."

I took the cleaner to another pool supply company and they could fix the issue for $41, a savings of about 50% from Leslie's. I was so impressed by this other company that I purchased a new cleaner right there on the spot.

If you take your cleaner to Leslie's for repair make SURE you ask exactly what the cost will be BEFORE you allow them to replace any parts.

Horrible Customer Service. Do not buy from them

"The Leslies Pool Mart Service team and the warranties that they provide are completely worthless.

I scheduled an appointment in Mid May to come take a look at my pool heater that I purchased the year before. It was still under warranty. They had to come out for 3 different visits and after 3 visits, 6+ weeks later, the service tech says he spoke to his manager and his manager, Doug Haggard out of Tennessee, just told him he has only ever had 2 heaters replaced due to manufacturers defects in his 27 years at Leslie’s!!!

Why after 6 weeks am I just hearing this and why would a warranty be provided if ONLY 2 in 27 years have been replaced under warranty!?

This takes poor service to another level. Just infuriating.

No communications

"Bought online because stores were closed , want to return solar cover straps , it took 3 weeks to get RMA and was going to be charged $15 for shipping and 15% restocking fee .I was going to have to pay $22.50 to return a $49.99 item.Could not return to local even through they are company’s stores . Had to email 3 times and got no call backs .waited over 1 hour for customer support and there were still 9 people ahead of me . So I ended up keeping straps which I don’t need instead of losing $22.50 for nothing "

No pool after a month w/ no communication

"I ordered me pool May 12 and after approx 6 calls waiting on hold for 45min they hung up. When I finally got through they were going to track my pool and it would take 3-5 business days.
Well they never called me and yesterday June 9th they canceled my order. I called corporate, and they sent me to the Customer service line which I waited 1hr to speak to someone. They couldn't get a manager on the phone.
In between all this I emailed numerous times with no communication at all.
I have already built the deck around the pool and layer the sand. This company is ridiculous, all they needed to do is communicate by a simple email or phone call.

Horrible customer service

"So I bought a brand new pool online, thought if I went with a reputable company I would be safe.. finally have PROFFESIONAL installers to install my pool. Just my luck.. the sand filter is damaged.. so they can’t install the pool pump or filter.. now after several attempts to speak to someone and expedite my order for a new sand filter that I paid for.. so that way my water doesn’t get disgusting.. I have a pool filled with nasty water!! All because of the manufacturing defect in my sand filter. They keep telling me to wait for the “warranty team” to respond.. after the 3rd call still no response.. there should be someone checking orders and verified that al parts are correct.. horrible operations and customer service.. I just want what I paid for and nothing less"
