"It’s been good. Her Infant and infant tot teachers along with school directors and staff under her would be the reason I recommend the facility to others."

"We like the school. We just believe the handbook needs to be updated and around holidays when the school is closed 2 days of the 5, we should not be charged a 5 days rate. We do love our teacher Mrs Marilyn. We seems to really care about our child and his needs, and any questions to her as a first time parents for us, she is always willing to take time to talk with us. Our only issue is some policy issues outside the control of our school itself."

"I really would like my baby to be held more. I watch him in the camera and I feel all the other babies get more attention than him. They are attentive when he cry’s ( but he doesn’t cry much because he’s a good baby). I just feel I’m paying so much for childcare I wish they actually held him and nurturing him more. I also wish they would focus on his development more and my requests I ask is them.... everything else is great!!"

Extremely disappointing experience

"My husband and I pulled our children from La Petite (New Lenox) in May 2019 after being in their care for almost three years. It is intentional that I have given myself some time to process all that led to our decision before writing this review, as I wanted to be fair and balanced, but also candid about what we experienced. Overall, LP has a long-standing history and they’ve been in the child-care business for quite some time. That, however, is their greatest impediment to true child-centered care. Their focus is on profits and not what is best for children. The teachers are overrun, given very few resources, stretched beyond their bandwidth – and for very little pay. While there were a few (and by few, I mean less than a handful) teachers throughout our time at LP that we were very fond of and who genuinely seemed to care for our children, they didn’t stay long given the environment, and there was a constant revolving door of teacher talent. Over time, this took a toll on our children. Eventually, my two year old son began to have major meltdowns, where he’d be practically inconsolable. The teachers and director (Carrie) seemed at a loss for what was triggering his meltdowns, despite the fact that he was doing well at home. We hoped it was a phase, but after several weeks with no improvement, we began to question everything that we’d been so sure of before – even our own parenting. Are we doing something wrong? Is he upset with us? Every day at drop-off, we watched our son’s light dim as we pulled into the parking lot. Things eventually came to a head when I logged into the cameras and witnessed a teacher literally push my son across the floor during one of his tantrums. The director had the audacity to tell me that the teacher was defending herself from my son (a two year old). They never apologized, acknowledged that it was wrong or took responsibility for her actions. In fact, I recently learned that she’s been promoted. We immediately pulled both of our children from LP, which was pretty heartbreaking given that my daughter in Pre-K had an incredible teacher whom she was very fond of. We had no idea where we would place them, but we followed our spirits, hearts and intuition. It is now four months since our experience there and I am happy to say that my son’s disposition improved almost immediately when we removed our children from LP’s care. At his current daycare, his light couldn’t be brighter. He asks about his teacher on the weekends and looks forward to going every day. His current teacher is so incredibly engaged with each and every one of her students, but what I think has made the biggest difference is this: he knows she genuinely cares for and about him. He is not just a number, just another tuition payment, he is not just there. He matters and she makes sure he knows it. At first blush, you may find the director Carrie to be very friendly, warm and engaging. That was our initial impression as well. However, her true colors were revealed over time. I am grateful to the few teachers there who, despite every disincentive to do so, poured into our children over the years. They were the exception. But we are so grateful to have moved on and I will honestly never look back. "

"Everything’s great I just feel like I’m a burden asking for the lunch menu all the time, and feel like I’m the only one who is particular about what my child eats."

"The cost of daycare is onerous. On top of weekly tuition there are tons of fees. I wish something was being done to reduce cost."

"I’ve been sending my children to LPA for 7.5 years. This wonderful team has included women (and one man - he was awesome) who care about how my children are growing. I feel secure leaving my children in their care within their clean facility while I continue my career. I look forward to many more years with my location."

"During our time here, we've noticed that care has been less attentive and focused. It seems like they are short on staff. Not a fan of them sending my child to hang out with younger children all the time. How will they advance if they are continuously being shuffled for staffing issues?"
