These guys used to be great, right up until they weren't.

"Beware, if you order live animals outside of their shipping temps, they'll happily send them to you with no additional protection from the weather (in this case, the cold) and no warning that you'll have a 1% survival rate on your order.

Any ethical company that ships live animals will do SOMETHING to protect their stock--either beef up their packaging, or tell you they can't fill the order because the animals will die. Not Josh's Frogs! I had 10 small crickets survive out of the 1000 they sent (with no insulation), and they said it's on me to know it was too cold, even though their own ordering system pulls up the weather. Silly me, I thought THEY were the professionals here and had some moral obligation to protect their animals or provide a useable product. I guess I was wrong.

dead, three times dead

"I ordered pinhead crickets and when I received them, they were mostly dead. I called and they sent out a replacement order of pinhead crickets. This shipment was worse as all the crickets were dead. I again sent them pictures and told them about the dead loss, and for the third time they sent out pinhead crickets, this time with a warm pack in the box. I didn't matter, like the first batch, almost of the them were dead. They actually put a packing date on these, and every time I'm received pinhead crickets that were packed over a week ago in an air tight tube. "

Would not recommend

"I purchased the Anole Habitat Complete kit along with some feeders for an anole that I had rescued. I paid for the overnight shipping for my entire order. They split the order into 2 separate shipments and didn't send the terrarium portion overnight like I had requested. I opened a ticket with their help desk and they offered to refund back a portion of my shipping charges. Then, the first box was received and it had the feeders in it. The crickets weren't packaged in a box with warming pads, so they all arrived dead. The plastic container that they were in had been somewhat crushed and had cracks in the side of it. The carrot that was shipped with them looked extremely dry and as I said all the crickets were dead. Then the container of pheonix worms was supposed to contain 150 small worms. I opened the container and there were only 3 worms in the ENTIRE container. I updated my ticket with them and they offered to refund me for the feeders. The next day the terrarium finally arrived. I pulled it out of the box to find that the entire left side of the terrarium was busted. There are shards of glass everywhere! I updated my ticket for the 3rd time with them and they have offered to refund my order. I will NEVER order another item from this seller again. I have never had so many things go wrong with an order in all of my times of ordering from online vendors."

Springtails

"My 32 ounce springtail culture was shipped lightening fast. Arrived fed ex. There were absolutely tons of springtails in the culture and all are very active and healthy. These will reproduce for years to come. I am very pleased. I will be a repeat customer. "

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPPORT

"I placed an order and moments later decided to cancel it due to realizing the worms were to small and didnt research enough. I've spent days back and forth with different people and was told I would be refunded and then told I wouldn't be. I disputed the charges with my bank when I sent the correct order number and was told it was incorrect to them days before to cancel it before shipping and they didnt. Will never recommend or shop there again. "

Didn’t send full order and receive little help

"I made an order from them for about a dozen items and two didn’t send, the customer support person said it could’ve been lost in shipping and offered assistance but after asking them to use the value of the missing items as credit towards another purchase no response was given. Then after asking for a refund twice it was finally given but for only a single item and not another. After emailing again they’ve yet to respond, and this whole events taken 4 days so far and I’m still attempting to receive my full refund. Last time buying from joshsfrogs, terrible costumer service and missing items is too much."

Poor help, poor product

"I emailed to find out what percentage of their mantis egg sacks actually hatched, and if they are guaranteed fertilized. Neither question was answered, it was like asking a politician a question. FOUR egg sacks later, and not one praying mantis. What a waste of time and money. Do NOT buy mantis egg sacks from this site. My child wad very disappointed. "

Terrible customer care & Policy

"I placed an order of goods through Josh’s Frogs. After checking out and paying I got an email a day later saying I would have to pay double shipping charges even though I had already placed my order and it had been processed. Staff was condescending when I made a complaint and would not give a refund or return shipping label for the half an order they already shipped"

Disappointment

"We ordered 2 bumblebee millipedes. These arrived MUCH smaller than I anticipated. These were a gift for our sons 13th birthday and even with the small size, he was excited. Within 5 days, one was dead. Tank/substrate/humidity & heat were all on point. Now I have a disappointed kiddo, and one of my gifts failed. Way to go, Josh’s Frogs. "

"I was in need of a small CO2 setup for my new plant tank. I walked into my local pet store and saw the prices and was shocked, so I got online and luckily stumbled across Josh's Frogs.
