Humbucker Music is my goto guitar store -- and I shop at all of them

"It's crazy to see Humbucker has 1 star. What this tells me is that the only people who leave reviews are people who've had a bad experience. This is making me reconsider the validity of resellerratings. This is not a criticism of resellerratings but more an observation of those who leave reviews on the site. I guess people are motivated to write poor reviews when unsatisfied, which is understandable. But unfortunately these negative reviews don't paint an accurate picture of Humbucker Music.

I've been collecting guitars for about 10 years. I've ordered from so many different stores. In the past year and a half, I've ordered two amps and four Suhr guitars from Humbucker. My experience has been excellent. Everything I've purchased arrived in PERFECT condition; not only that, but Humbucker has the best Suhrs for the money if you get their dealer select guitars.

If you're considering Humbucker, please don't put too much into the reviews you see on this site. Check out what people have to say on theggearpagge.net or Yelp ... anywhere but this site.

Humbucker is a fantastic store.

Requested a wire transfer - known scam

"I ordered an amp online and paid with PayPal, which went through fine. They then emailed me to say that they would only accept a wire transfer for an international order, requesting me to make a wire transfer in order to secure the amp. That’s a well known scam online - I did not proceed so can’t say whether that was their intention but proceed with caution and make sure you only pay them via safe online methods"

Very poor customer service.....

"You folks need WAY better customer service skills. Practice that stuff boys & Stop being lazy! When a product you sell is bad, don't pawn it off on the manufacture. Make it right.... You are the seller! If you value EVERY customer, you would have gave me options to return the defective guitar and exchange it for something else....it's really just that simple. As I'm writing this, I'm still waiting for this guitar that was bought at the end of December. This whole nightmare could have been avoided, if ya would have just exchanged it.....the ball was extremely dropped.

Just awful don’t buy here

" I bought a mesa boogie dual ready fire when it arrived the box was all banged up not that it’s humbug or‘s fault they got banged up but they did promise they would double box it and it was not. When I open the app and plugged it in the footpedal didn’t work and the tubes were humming and crackling when playing. Mesa boogie said call humbucker music to get the issue resolved. Humbucker music then said go pound sand it was past the five days even though I had called and told him about the problem within two days. Their reasoning was there’s rust inside the pedal keep playing with it and it will eventually wear off. As if Rust was acceptable inside of new electronics. And their response for the tubes was should have called earlier. My response was I did call earlier actually I called within two days and one of your flunkies told me it was fine keep playing it. Then Brian I guess his name is said there’s no record of that phone call. That’s when I knew I was not going to get any help from these horrible people that don’t deserve to represent wonderful brands. You guys sell things that other great men have engineered and you can care less. It’s too bad because I just bought a Fender custom shop about two hours ago and you guys had the same one in stock but I paid more for it at Sweetwater just because I did not want to buy it from you. And trust. I called you to price it. Sweetwater matched it plus tax so yes I would have saved over $300 buying it from you but I chose to spend more money simply to avoid you.....think about that. "

Beware!!!!!

"Ordered a full set of replacement Mesa tubes, and sprung for the upgraded set for an extra $20. After purchasing, I discover that my card was charged the extra $20 THREE times. Total should have been $149 and they charged me $189. Finally got the extra $40 refunded, however they never shipped out my order. Emails through the website, messages via Facebook, and even posts I've left on their Facebook page have all gone unanswered. Called their phone number and got left on hold. Nobody ever came back on the line. First and last time I will ever use this website! "

Beware!

"The physical location of Humbucker Music is only open for appointments to test the merchandise prior to purchase and they never seem to have any available appointment times. I physically went to the store in Rossville, GA to purchase a Nash guitar and had to wait for someone inside to see me and come outside. I was only invited inside after I told the employee I was there to buy a Nash. He let me in and showed me a couple of guitars but wouldn't let me actually plug them in and play them. I bought the instrument and tried it at home. It was a $1900. disappointment and I returned it the next day and tried to make an appointment to try as many guitars as I wanted before choosing one but was charged a 3% "restocking fee", verbally assaulted by Brian (the owner) and called a "fu*@ing looser" and told that he does enough business online that he doesn't have time for people like me. He told me to get out of his store. The business is designed to charge musicians for trying an instrument before they buy it and the owner was the most disagreeable and angry salesperson I've ever encountered. "

"The shipping was very fast. That being said, I did not take notice of their return policy until after I purchased my item. You have only 5 days to obtain a return authorization, after which, the item it yours. If you decide to return the item, you are charged the original shipping cost plus a 3% restocking fee, and you must pay to ship the item back.
My item was $1299.00 and it cost around $50.00 to send it back with insurance, so by the time they take 3% and the original shipping cost off of my refund, I will be out around $100.00!
Do yourself a favor and do not buy from this company unless you are absolutely sure that you want the item. If you are buying something sight-unseen, buy it from a company that has free returns and a decent amount of time to check it out.
In addition, they boast of shipping everything with an additional box and packing materials. This was not the case with my order. It was shipped in only the manufacturers shipping materials.

"Ordered an effects pedal from Humbucker.

When it arrived the first thing I noticed was the horrible cigarette smoke smell emanating from the package, including inside the pedal box. Even the pedal itself smelled like smoke.

The second thing I noticed was the potentiometers did not turn smoothly or consistently.

When I attempted to have it returned, Humbucker said that was fine but I had to pay for return shipping.

Something so obviously defective and unclean should never have left their store, and I certainly should not have to pay to return it to them.

Humbucker Music has refused to do anything except force me to accept this dirty and defective merchandise or to pay more out of pocket to return it.

I would stay away from Humbucker Music unless you enjoy shelling out more money to ship something back to them that never should have been sent in the first place.
