Customer Service

"I needed to remedy a situation for my mom where our hotel rooms got double booked. I was very frustrated because I called the number on my reservation 4 times and got hung up on. I called another number 3 times and got hung up on. I tried the online chat and it was not available. I sent 2 messages requesting a call back. I got the messages back in my email. I called the 1st number back and said customer service 4-5 times and finally got connected with Kristin Ferris. She was so kind and patient. She immediately started solving the problem and called the hotel to make sure everything was correct while I was on the phone. I appreciate her awesome customer service. She is one of a kind. Thank you Kristin for your help."

Wrong hotel location

"I will give Debbie Howell the 5 stars for fixing my reservation. It was mad to the incorrect hotel. Debbie took the time, was pleasant while trying to fix it when the correct hotel would not show up for her. H Hotel Planner should be proud you work for them. Thank you Debbie."

Booked the wrong hotel and did not refund

"I booked the Hilton Indianapolis in January, it is now May. They booked me a hotel (not even a Hilton, the Pensiunea Luiza) in Romania instead. It has been 4 months and they have completely given up on refunding me — I have come to the conclusion this was either complete incompetence, or worse, an internal scam. Avoid this company and book direct."

BEWARE OF THERE DISHONEST AGENTS

"HORRIBLE!
On 1/21/21 I went to the La Quinta website, found the room I wanted, which clearly stated "FREE CANCELLATIONS" and "PAY AT HOTEL", called the no. shown, and Hotel Planner answered which concerned me. The agent said that they book for La Quinta and that he could "see" the room that I had up on my screen. We talked for over 15 min., that I wanted to make sure that I was getting the correct room (there was another listing for the same room that stated No Cancellations and a different price),in case I had to cancel because my mother was under Hospice care and I could possibly get an emergency call and need to come back o be with my mother.
He "assured" me that he would book the correct room and that he would send me a confirmation to look over and make sure and if there were any problems "just call back and ask for me, my name is Francisco. I said, you mean if I call Hotel Planner back, I can actually talk to YOU? "Yes, of course."
He then asked for my Credit Card # and info., to hold the reservation, said he was not going to run any charges through, that I would pay at the hotel.
I got the email confirmation as soon as I hung up, and he had booked the "No Cancellation" room AND HAD RUN THE ENTIRE AMOUNT ON MY CARD.
I immediately called Hotel Planner, asked for Francisco, which of course was not available, told the girl what had happened and to please fix it and book the room that I asked for. She said could not do it because it was a "NO CANCELLATION" booking.
I called back again and the same rep. said "let me let you talk to Kathryn our customer service rep. She can help you. Got a VM, left a message, never got a return call.
Called HP back the next morning, Rep. said she sent it "up to escalation"???,
I then called La Quinta and booked the correct room, which was even cheaper, and was told that they have no such policy of "No Cancellations" She tried to cancel the Hotel Planner reservation but said they had it blocked.
I did stay there and payed the hotel when I checked out.
I have also since found out that La Quinta never ran any charges through so Hotel Planner, (who by the way CANCELLED the reservation on 1/21) ran the charge, but has refused to give me a refund.
This has been the worst business experience I've ever had and again I say BEWARE!

UPDATE:

The guest had disputed the charges and we were able to retrieve the necessary documentation from the guest once the dispute was closed with their bank and as such we were able to issue a refund in full for the guest booking and they have been notified when they can expect the refund in their account.

Awesome hotel booking provider

"I booked my last holidays with Hotelplanner as they offered me great deals with a wide range of selections. I like their app even better than booking.com as their customer service seems more engaged and answered me promptly when there was an issue with payments due to a voucher I had received from a friend. Complete nightmare

"I made a hotel reservation through hotel planner and it was made by them for the wrong hotel. I was incorrectly charged twice for this reservation three months ago and have yet to receive a refund. Hotel planner has been completely unresponsive and I still had to problem solve to obtain an actual reservation at the hotel where I was supposed to be staying. Once checking into the correct hotel, I was charged again since they had no record of me through Hotel Planner."

Refund of booking error

"I made a booking via a link on a wedding website, and despite taking every care found that I had booked a double room for single occupancy not for two. I phoned the hotel directly but was told I would have to cancel via the weblink. After an online discussion with a representative I was told I would be able to make a cancellation without penalty and a refund would come in 5 -7 business days. When this did not happen I e mailed Hotel Planner and was told that someone has bee on leave. After this I received an apology via e mail from Reginette who was most helpful, and the matter was quickly resolved. I feel that the booking procedure on the weblink needs to be simplified in order to prevent these situations arising."
