Ridiculous

"I have never been so disappointed in an online purchase as I have with my Hot Topic experience. I ordered online on November 26th...it is now Dec 19th...and NO PACKAGE! I have called customer service multiple time, and held for anywhere between 22 and 45 minutes on each occasion, only to be read a script. At last update, last Thursday, I was told that my order would be shipped that day. I recieved an email stating that the order had been "processed and FedEx was awaiting my package." THE PACKAGE JUST LEFT THE FACOLITY THIS MORNING!...TUESDAY! And...Is coming by FedEx Smartpost...I ordered a month in advance of Christmas and the package will not be delivered by Christmas...I have ordered elsewhere and will be returning the items AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE from Hot Topic. **** poor service!"

Terrible!!!!!

"I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering items for Christmas. I received order and shipping confirmation on Dec 4th. The tracking number for FedEx had not shown a status update in over 11 days. FedEx states that a shipping label has been created by Hot Topic but FedEx has not received the package for shipping. I have emailed Hot Topic two times with no reply. I have called twice. Was disconnected the first time after being on hold for 30 minutes. Then the second time I was told the order was "pushed through" and I would see the shipping status updated on FedEx. NOPE!!!! Still nothing. I think it's a bigger issue than just not receiving my items in time for Christmas. It's fraud!!!! They have already charged my credit card and they are not holding up to their shipping standards of receiving the items in 4-10 days. Something needs to be done. "

Worst customer service experience

"Never again will I order online from Hot Topic. I ordered 11/24. Order never shipped. I emailed twice, called twice. After holding for more than an hour on the second call, the CSR said "it must be lost", reissued the order and said it would ship overnight. The next day I get an email saying it was cancelled. Had to contest the charge with my credit card company to get my money. Very shady. Horrible customer service- subpar, unproffessional, and an overwhelming disappointment from start to finish."

Christmas

" I ordered from several online stores eight days ago. I’ve received all of my packages, however, Hot Topic has not even shipped my order yet. When I called to inquire about this they kept me on hold for 45 minutes After quoting my wait time was 20 to 30 minutes. When they finally picked up they hung up on me. I called back and left my number for a call back and they never called back. They should really hire holiday help so that packages can be shipped in a timely manner. "

Worst customer service ever

"Placed order on Nov 24 it claimed to shipped on the 30th it's Dec 13th and FedEx nor usps has even received the package. I've been trying to contact them since Friday and no one will respond and I keep getting disconnected when I call even tried messenger told me it was after hours but it was 11:30am I hate this place so much. I'd give it a minus 5 stars if I could "

Worst online customer service

"Placed an online order on 11/30 and decided I wanted to add another item. I called within their one hour window and added the other item with the representative. He was very nice, but it took about 25 minutes to complete the transaction. I've worked similar jobs before and it shouldn't have taken more than 5 minutes to do what was required, but that was all fine...

Checked back on my account for a week and it still says my order is In Process, so I finally emailed with my order number asking when they expect my order to finally ship out.

5 days later (!) I finally get an email back saying that due to a "glitch" my order will be cancelled in the next couple of days and my money refunded, but if I call them they'll replace my order and ship it out with expedited shipping at no extra charge. That's all well and good, but this was an order for Christmas presents that need to be sent out so I've already repurchased the items somewhere else yesterday and they are already shipped out to me today.

It would have been nice to have known about the "glitch" before my order was due to be cancelled so that I could have rectified the situation and then not have to wait 5 days after inquiring to receive an answer. Well, they've lost MY business...

Fraud false business!!

"Placed an order on 11/23. For 2+ weeks, order status was still processing. Wrote them twice during this time to inquire about the order status and was assured my order was confirmed and would ship soon, they were just behind due to so many orders placed at the same time.

And then on 12/11, I get an email for each item ordered saying that the item was sold out and my order could not be fulfilled!!

Poor business practice, poor inventory control, fraud and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Filing a claim with BBB as well!!!!

Not the best thing to do to your customers when your competing with big dogs like Amazon!!!!

Minus 20 stars if possible

"Order placed 11/25/17 - still in orocedd..30 minutes on phone, the disconnected, recall 30 minutes, we have no information on your order only it was placed, call back tomorrow maybe we can redo it, but stuff may be out of stock. Phone cue for call back won't recognize phone numbers . Called back next day, 39 minutes, oh orders ready you should gave shipping confirmation today or tomorrow, guess what no confirmation. Site originally said 4 to 11 business days including Saturday now 4 to 13 use to be a good place to shop. Never again. Now I have to go re buy presents for this weekend Xmas party ...plus emailed with no response. Never will use online..maybe store very very disappointing. "

""I ordered five shirts during one of their $10 dollar t shirt sale and was very disappointed when I got an email 2 WEEKS after the items were out of stock. But on there twitter they are promoting the shirts that I order like they are on stock. They cancel all the shirt's that I order for 10 dollar deal. This is a straight up scam. I'm not the only person with this problem, many are and even people have go to the stores to complain about it. Scammers "

Hot Topic can’t get their act together on authorizing funds.

"I recently placed two separate orders from Hot Topic on 11/26 and 11/30. After being told there maybe a slight shipping delay due to the hoilday season, which I completely understood. The money was taken out of my bank automatically pending authorization. After around almost two weeks for one order and a week for the other one. Hot Topic has kept charging and uncharging my card over and over again, acting as if the order has been cancelled and uncancelled. After a call to their customer service, I was told this was to check the availability of funds in the account, um, well, okay, whatever, if you say so. I was told my order was already at the warehouse and ready to ship at any moment but my bank statement keeps showing that they put the money for the order back in my bank account like it was cancelled while the orders still say in process. If you ask me this is a poor way to check the amounts in a bank account. My advice, if you want something that terribly from Hot Topic maybe buy it in person so you won’t get the run around over if they are going to actually take your money to ship the order or not.

Inefficient customer service & terrible online experience

"Two orders now have had issues. The first was cancelled due to not being in stock, however I was never notified of that cancellation. I had to contact customer service when the order mysteriously went from ‘In Process’ to ‘Complete’. Second order was placed two weeks ago. Still shows ‘In Process’. Two emails to customer service and the only thing they’ve told me was that the order is being processed and is possibly delayed because of a new inventory system. At this rate, it won’t be in stock to ship and I’ll have another order cancelled. Probably never shopping online with them again, which is a shame because it’s the only place you can buy their plus sizes."

No consideration for privacy

"I order 3 shirts during the 10 dollar deal. I receive the wrong order and not only was it the wrong order I have a mother customers info ( full name, address, email address, phone number, etc). I contacted customer service on Saturday did not received a generic email on Monday just stating they can resend my order! I responded to the email stating there is a chance someone has my info and being a victim of identity thief I feel very uncomfortable. As of yet I have not received a response!"

DONT SHOP HERE

"If I could I would give them a zero star for there online service. DON'T SHOP ONLINE !!!! They are very decieving when it says its in stock and than you find out your whole order is out of stock??? I ordered 7 shirts and only one shipped out and others said its proccessed. I email customer service and they said 6 of my orders is out of stock which is technically my whole damn order. I work in customer service and they are just repetitive of just saying sorry for the inconvience we cant help you. You will also get a run around because when you reply you get a different person not the same one that helped you the first time sending out an email. This is just bs because it is the holiday season and you hope to expect them to arrive before christmas. JUST HORRIBLE. Save your time and shop else where!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Horrible customer service

"My package came damaged. My Funko POP!'s box was also damaged. I understand that Fedex has more than likely been at fault. However, after contacting Hot Topic's customer service. I was told scuffs and variations are to be expected. I don't believe they understand the difference between damage and variation. I was told they would only take further action if the Pop itself was damaged. I collect these and expect the boxes to be in good condition also. I was not offered a replacement or any type of gift card. They should not expect any future purchases from this household. "
