"My experience started out well but then someone dropped the ball in reference to my order. However, when one of your CSR's got involved she acknowledge the mistake made by your company and took car of business. I received my order on time which was great!! She should be commended for her ability to "get is done"

"Hertz has been unreceptive to my inquiries and I've decided to just keep their poor quality item rather than deal with the return headaches. There was also shipping or manufacturing damage. Also, The shipping service was rude with very poor communication.

I have an existing cherry office suite, which I elected not to purchase the file cabinet with because it was a single height lateral style cabinet and I have a smallish office and I wanted the smaller footprint of a vertical style cabinet. My existing office suite fits two people, with two workspaces, beveled glass doors, slide out shelves, and a common shared surface. It's quite nice and cost about $4000 new so I wanted to purchase something decent to compliment it. I shopped on line for a vertical file cabinet in dark cherry and picked a fairly expensive vertical file cabinet. IT was one of my worst online purchases ever.

1) Poor finishing details. All nail holes were left unfilled. The trim is pneumatically nailed onto the underlying particle board wood and all nail holes have no filler or stain. They are simply holes in the finish.
2) Drawer boxes are stapled together, no dovetails, no half lap joints, just staples. I don't even see evidence that any glue was used. Cheap quality, not built for durability.
3) Drawer fronts are stapled onto the drawer box. The drawer box has three sides instead of the customary four sides. The cherry drawer front is stapled into the box sides. Cheap quality, not built for durability.
3) One of the drawer fronts had tool marks from the staple machine. Either a careless Chinaman or a careless operator on an automated machine caused the staple machine to nick the drawer front, tearing out two slices of wood. Not that noticeable but I clearly saw the damage immediately.
4) The baltic birch plywood making up the three sides of the drawer box is unfinished. Normally a single coat of sealant is applied which protects the wood from excessive swelling from humidity variations, etc. An inexpensive step any quality manufacturer (even Chinese) should do. Cheap quality, not built for durability or longevity.
5) There is evidence of damage to the back side of the vertical box while at the factory. The lower back of the vertical cabinet is pushed in about 1/4" and the inside particle board reinforcement is snapped. Inspection of the shipping container showed no creases or press marks indicating this damage occurred during shipping. This damage occurred at the factory and was padded and shipped with the damage.
6) Color. Much darker than in the photos. It's mahogany colored. Not cherry colored.
7) Fit. The drawer fronts are mot aligned perfect with the frame or each other. The bottom of the top drawer almost touches the second top drawer (within hundredths of inch) while there's a 3/16" gap between the second drawer and the third drawer. As I use this cabinet and the slides start to wear, I expect these drawer fronts to be sliding against each other and the finish to come off. Cheap quality.

I've got to say this will be my first furniture order online for something at this price point, and my last. I'm debating weather or not to return this item. The shipping materials were destroyed during unpacking because I didn't notice the factory damage in #5 until after all material was removed.
