"I have found that most Harbor Freight tools are worth the bargain prices. My problem is the ridiculously slow shipping. I live in the suburbs of NYC. I have grown to expect delivery of online orders in 1-3 days. A recent order from Harbor Freight took 16 days from the date I place the order. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE."
"I ordered a bench online. It was delivered Fed Ex at the top of our road. Box was torn in multiple places and you could see scratchs into wood top. Called Harbor Freight and was told I was going to have to load the 114 pound 6 foot bench into my little Subaru and take to Fed Ex. Rude rude man on phone. I asked how I was suppose to lift 114 pounds and that it wouldnt fit my car. He said not his problem. Asked for supervisor and he said he was supervisor. I will never deal with them again and plan to repeat my story to everyone I can. By the way, the bench is 2/3 of my weight and I am an older woman. So terrible. "

" I bought a pole saw from Harbor freight, and it broke after only five uses, they told me they would exchange it for a new one when I called customer service after holding for 20 minutes, so they told me to wait for an email to return it but they never sent it, I called again two weeks later, same thing 20 minutes on hold finally got someone and then they said they would expedite it for me 2 weeks later still nothing, I guess they’re full of crap and don’t honor their return promises, all I can say is pay up for the two year in-store exchange, or buy your tools elsewhere because they will be made better, i’d rather them tell me they’re not going to exchange it, then to keep offering lies. PS. I double checked the email that they sent it to, also checked my inbox and junk folders they absolutely did not send a return email as they said."

"I called harbor freight in Hattiesburg Mississippi on speakerphone. 3 people heard them tell me their business hours were 8:30 in I drove 45 minutes to get here. I got here at 8 exactly the lady told me they close at 8 and I only had time to grab a thing or two if I made it within 5 minutes I said ma'am I called and y'all said 8:30. She called me a liar. harbor freight can kiss my **** from now on."
"After 6 weeks I had not received the order I had paid for, I called customer service. They said the trucking company got the wrong phone number (Harbor Freights fault). They said when the product is returned by trucking company they would call me and reship it. A week later I had not heard from them from them and called back. This time they just said the product was returned. They also said that I could reorder or cancel. When I said I couldn't trust them and was going to cancel they immediately said okay and hung up. I also had a cashier yell at me at one of their stores when I asked for a coupon back that he said it was not valid for my purchase. I'm wondering if they hire folks straight out of jail or something."
"I had to call their customer service tech support number and other two numbers that I found the one that came in the manual and another number I was on hold for over an hour waiting for somebody to answer the phone and never answer the phone finally had to call corporate office and phone number for them and come to find out they don't have any parts for the item I bought and the customer service again never answering that's very poor customer service and they want you to take out the extended warranty I guess so that you don't have to call customer service and be on hold for almost an hour on the two numbers that are active I really had good luck with the products just if I need a part you're SOL and that's if you can actually get through to customer service which I have not been able to do so if you buy from Harbor Freight see if there are replacement parts for it before you buy it or you are Sol again"
"I have foolishly bought a lot of stuff at Harbor Freight over the years but have wised up to the fact that there is a reason that a quality item from Lowe's, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, or Northern Tool costs more. The junk from Harbor Freight simply isn't as well made. They break, don't work as well (if at all), and are bulkier than quality tools. Many of the tools I have bought from them have already been discarded. What do they say about a fool and his money?
Their stores are understaffed; workers run around in such a frenzy that it is difficult to ask a question or have them check for items in the storeroom.
I am doing my best to avoid this place these days."
"Purchased a Model 61979, 12' dual bevel sliding compound miter saw. Unit lasted about 28 months (just outside the extended warranty). The motor failed due to an internal wire weld failure on the motor armature. Company indicated that they cannot sell a replacement drive motor. Discovered that the Chicago Electric brand is Chinese made and the part list does not mean that you can buy all parts for repairs.
I expected more from this product and although I had to put up with some inaccuracy of the miter saw, not being able to repair is totally unacceptable.
No more Chicago Electric tools for my shop in the future."
"Went in to buy a $100 product and didn’t have my coupon. Jamie the manager was short and rude and told me to go home and get my own coupon, even though the cashier had one. When we returned to purchase it, the cashier proceeded to tell us that she would have given us the coupon and that her manager (Jamie) was rude. This store has no sense of authority what so ever."
"I got to store in Massapequa at 801 pm store closes at 8pm. But you couldn't get near store by car because police activity. Dave the supervisor was standing outside sees me walk up then gets on radio staying lock door. I said to him i gave to get one thing. Dave said no. Why would you tell them to lock door when you watched me walk up to door. There is police activity and street is closed. His answer was too bad store closed. Why would watch me walk across parking lot to get to front door then lock it. Why wouldn't you just say store is closed before you make me walk to door. Dave was so rude Whatever happened to customer service. Thwn you see himm and the employees laughing. You should be ashamed of yourself. Never shop there again"
"I've spent thousands of dollars at Harbor Freight, depending heavily on reviews to make wise purchases. I like most of their tools and shop at their stores almost every day. In the past 2 months I've written about 20 high quality reviews on products I purchased. Some had pictures so every review took time to write. All my positive reviews got published. None of my negative ones.
The company does judiciously allow some negative reviews no doubt to project the illusion of honesty. Former employees online have mentioned that the company writes their own reviews. Based on my experience submitting quality in depth reviews, they only publish positive reviews and throw negative ones in the trash."
"Horrible customer service!!! My husband lost a gift card there and immediately called to have it shut off and a card was to be sent out to him. However, days later we were told no card would be issued because there was only a 1.00 on it left. Their excuse was that it was holiday so what they said would not hold water because they could answer a phone on a holiday when they had a mega sale but they could not shut it off? Sounds like b.s. and bad customer service. Getting our money through our credit card dispute but never shopping here again. Their customer service people are downright nasty and they have NO customer service. Buyer beware at this company!"
"I used to love Harbor Freight. Bought some tools (albeit cheap), bought a trailer, got some free items. I was a good customer. These 25% coupons would bring me into the store. We drove out of our way to buy a shade tent for the beach. They turned down my coupon. I believe it’s a FALSE ADVERTISEMENT . There are 10 TYPES OF ITEMS and 18 DIFFERENT BRANDS that you can’t use this coupon on. Shame on you Harbor Freight!"
