"Funny how Daily Deal Digital has the same employees as Grand Central Photo. Call both sites and try extension 114, you will get the same guy Alex. Also it's amazing how both "company's" have the same reputation, which is they are total rip offs. First of all they will try to up sale you on items purchased, saying that they are "superior quality" but you can find the same accessory kit on ebay for $40 or under and charge you $300 more. I never got one of my lenses, they didn't give it to me because they said my 5d would vignette. It doesn't matter I still purchased it!!! Or give me a discount on my package, or don't offer it at all if that is the case. They up sold me on a warranty that was totally unnecessary. The lens I did get was the wrong one. It took two months to finally get the lens I ordered. Which was nothing short of a miracle. If you read the fine, and I mean Fine print you can see that all of there equipment is gray market, if you don't know what that means look it up. Essentially the manufacture will not honor any sort of warranty if they are gray market. It took about four months, 20 emails, 5 hours of phone time, to get the items that I purchased, and I'm still missing several things. The sad thing is, that my case seems reasonable compared to others that I have read. Unfortunately I didn't read them until after I purchased my equipment. "

"Total scam. We contacted the Florida State Attorney. They havea list of complaints. Grand Central Photo has addresses in the Carolina's and a room in Boca Raton where they ship items under a different company name. Cell phones use Albany NY numbers. They are a bunch of kids running a scam. BEWARE. Contact your bank and the Florida State Attorney. File your complaint and join us in our lawsuit."

"I was taken advantage of just like the rest of you here on this review panel. I usually research merchants first before ordering but neglected this time and it backfired on me. I attempted to order a Canon 50D body because it is hard to find them now that Canon has come out with it's successor. I justified the discounted price of $800 because of it's discontinuance from Canon. I placed the order, rcvd a sketchy order confirmation and I called the merchant to request an invoice. The Salesperson, John, talked me into the upgrade battery/quick charger and highspeed 8gb CF card. I didn't know if a 15 mega pixel camera (I have a 10 now)required fast speed everything for it to run properly. I took the bait for a $149 pkg. I rcvd a revised invoice that showed the accessories were generic and not OEM. I distinctly asked the rep if the accessories were Canon origin 3x and he replied yes, 3x. So I try to cancel the order and need to fill out a form which reitrates they're terms of imposing a cancellation fee no less than 15%. I then call my cc and the charge has not become a transaction yet and I cannot dispute the charge until that time. Long story short...after reading all these reviews along with posts from site: ripoffreport.com, I decided to sign the form and cut my losses. They would withhold $200 fee. Other reviewers were still disputing large charges with no relief. I couldn't even fax the cancellation form back because of temp. line disconection. The transaction has hit my cc as of yesterday and I've file a complaint with BBB of Boca Raton, FL. On monday, I will dispute the $949 charge. I see a class action suit here. Any attorneys willing to step up to the plate?"

"Ordered it on Feb 23, got the email confirmation without any details. I ordered a Nikon 70-200mm Vr II lens listed at $1699. I started to call them after charge showed up on my credit card. I was told that the goods would be arriving soon. I kept pushing for a tracking number and got the run- around. I was given Mar 8 for delivery and nothing arrived. Then I got a tracking number and I received the goods. After I opened the box, it was a sigma 70-200mm ex dg macro lens. I was so furious and called Jim and Alex( two reps I had been dealing with) immediately and was told that I "agreed to an upgrade" back the day I ordered the lens. Well, I could not figure out how I could foolishly upgrade from a nikon to a sigma lens. They charged me $1699 for sending me a lens only costing $799. What a bait and switch scam. I demanded a RMA and got it promptly in email. In the fine letters, they promised to refund me $1395. I assume I have to swallow my stupidity along with my
$$$. Does anyone do anything to this scam company.

"Horrible customer service, they shipped only part of my order and have been giving me the run around as I try get the rest of my order. There are curiously lacking details on their website so I cannot tell who else to contact (Owner, manager etc), it appears that they hope to keep me running around until I give up on the order. If you have a choice AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! "

"THIS IS A SCAM - DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
I have ordered many things on-line and have never taken the time to write a review but feel compelled to add to the many negative reviews below me to prevent any one else from becoming another victim. I was told by the company that the camera I was buying was cheaper than other vendors because they bought a large quantity of this camera. One hour after the order was placed, I wanted to cancel my order because I found out the lens of the camera I bought from them was of a much cheaper quality than what is sold by other vendors. Grand Central Photo admitted that this was true. If I had known this, I would have never ordered the camera. My order was placed over a month ago and they are still refusing to refund my money. They are charging me $700 in fees to return the camera even though they told me (when I called them to return the camera 1 hour after the order was made) that I would not be charged anything but shipping.

"Almost 3 weeks after ordering a new Camera and lens I am still waiting. I'm usually a patient person, but these guys are terrible at communicating with their Customers. I called after about 12 days to check on the order and I was told that it had been shipped Monday (4 days earlier) and that it should arrive that day or the next. When the camera didn't arrive the next day I tried to call again and there was no answer ( about 5pm ) I received a message though telling me it would arrive 2/14. When It did not arrive on 2/14 or 2/15 I called back again. On 2/16 finally talked to another person who told me that it shipped on 2/14 and should be there any time. This time I got a FedEx tracking # from them - looked it up on the FedEx site and found out it did not even ship from GCP until 2/15. FedEx estimate says it should deliver 2/18. I cant believe it took over 2 weeks to leave their place and I wish they would have just been honest about shipping times or delays or whatever."

"These scammers are STUPID enought to clone and change the name from what can only be assumed to be the same scammers on a different site:
"In the fast paced world known as the Consumer and Pro Electronics industry, Grand Central Phota (a.k.a.) Daily Deal Digital has placed itself as a leader in several areas including customer service, shipping, product efficiency, and most of all, competitive pricing. Whether you place your order online or by phone you can bet that the experience will be great and exciting all the way through. If Daily Deal Digital does not have the item you need, you can rest assured that they will find it and get it to you promptly."

"I had pretty much the same bad experience as most of the reviewers. 100% scammed. I recommend everyone to STAY AWAY from this company. They also used the BAIT AND SWITCH tactic on me.

I was so excited with the reasonable prices that I neglected to read the reviews, what a mistake!!! will not happen again.
I ordered a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV Digital SLR camera and a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens. As others experienced, I received a call a day or 2 later confirming the order and the attempt to talk me into a different Lens and adding many accessories. They told me the lens I ordered was not auto focus. I told him that I didn't need the accessories and I wanted the items shipped just as ordered. He was very rude after this conversation. I am very fortunate that I had printed the invoice after my initial order which showed the order number and the items that I ordered with the individual prices AND both items qualified for free shipping which the invoice also reflected. The next day I logged in to check my order and it showed still processing(and still does). They had substituted a cheaper lens($400) for the canon lens that I ordered($1300) and had the items listed as a $5000 package. AND had tacked on $149.99 for shipping and handling. I immediately called to get this rectified. They told me the order could not be changed since it had been shipped already and the 149.99 was insurance charges?? the first I have heard of this. I also printed this invoice for my records so I have plenty info for the CC company. I have called many times about the order shipment and each time was told the shipment had been delayed because of the weather and would not provide me a tracking number. I finally called the last time and told them that if they couldn't provide me with a tracking number I would just turn it over to the CC company. He said if I would give the shipment another week he would slip a little something extra in the order? how would he accomplish this if the items had been shipped. Well, its been 20 days and nothing has arrived. I contacted the CC company and delivered this entire dilemma to them. They told me to immediately dispute the charges, this was a very sketchy transaction.

Stay away from this Company, a huge SCAM COMPANY,
BAIT AND SWITCH. I should have done my homework but this will NEVER EVER happen again.

"TOTAL SCAM COMPANY, BAIT AND SWITCH

I read all the reviews before making my decision to order from this company. I was VERY weary but decided to take the chance. I called them first, talked to Sean and asked some of the questions that red flagged me in the reviews, he gave adequate answers, but it was as if my questions were an inconvenience to him. The website showed the camera as being in stock, I asked Sean if the camera was in stock and was told "yes". I went ahead and ordered the camera got an email confirmation of my order and then got another email and phone call to confirm my order. I called the next day and again spoke to Sean, he did try to up-sell me and said the camera would be shipping out immediately. A couple hours later I got another email saying to call and confirm my order and again spoke to Sean, who didn't remember me, and again was told the camera would came straight from the manufacturer and would ship immediately. I watched my credit card all day for the charges and checked their website to see if I could track my order. Nothing. So now two days later still no charges made to my credit card, no calls or emails from GCP. I called and was transferred to Ted, who told me that camera was out of stock and tried to sale me the same camera $650.00 more than the package I ordered, which by the way, is the cost of the savings they say the package I originally purchased would be. I asked Ted why didn't Sean tell me the camera wasn't in stock when I called the day I placed the order and the next day when I confirmed the order, he said, "You probably spoke to a salesman and they don't know what we have in stock." HUH?? That makes no sense.

TOTAL SCAM COMPANY, BAIT AND SWITCH. I should have listened to the other reviewer's.

"This merchant is very dishonest and did a bait and switch.
I purchased their Canon Telephoto EF 135mm f/2.0L USM
(Product Code 2520A004) which coincides as the mfg number for the product for $899.99.(USM denotes autofocus).
After the purchased on the web, I called them to change my shipping to 2 days shipping. The sales person (Shawn) offered me to upgrade the Lens to Autofocus FOR $1069.
When I told him that on the webpage https://www.grandcentralphoto.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=ef+135 -shows that what I purchased was autofocus lens.
Shawn told me to hit the back button and redo the search. Which I did by opening a new tab and did as he told - while keeping the previous search.
Sure enough, I ended up with two same pages with one saying "autofocuses" while the other said "focuses".
I canceled the sale and Shawn actualy threatened me that I will be charged for cancelation fees.
I saved the two pages by doing a screen capture for my record when that time comes. This Company should've been sued for what they are doing.

"Bad experience just like the others. They confirmed order by e mail, then called and tried to upgrade. No notice of shipment or activity until after several calls. No tracking number supplied for shipment until after call. The lens arrived without hood, without case, without registration. I "think" it is new....Would never do business with them again."
