Problem: I wanted to return my purchase per the 60 day in-home trial advertised throughout the site (and shown on the item's description page as well) and customer service refused.

Testimonial: I purchased a Miele Professional Rotary Iron through GoVacuum.com in 6/2012 and received the item shipped on a wooden crate (it was shipped Freight). I was ok until I noticed the bottomless cardboard box strapped over the top of the machine. There was no plastic or protective material around the machine other than two pieces of styrofoam on each end. The majority of the machine was exposed. As a result of the packaging, the item arrived covered in dust/dirt and a black scuff was visible on the machine. Not to mention, the outer cardboard box had a gigantic tear in it. I'm surprised the machine was even functional. Mind you, this was a machine which I paid $1,999.00 for. I did manage to turn it on and instantly did not like the way it performed. As with a lot of products, the advertisements make them out to be easier and more efficient than they sometimes are. At this point I was pretty dissappointed as you could imagine.

Dissatisfied with my purchase, I contacted GoVacuum to return the item only to be informed by two customer service reps that it was considered a "commercial item" and they do not issue returns on commercial items. Being the wary customer that I was about this unfamiliar company, before purchasing from GoVacuum.com I scoured their return policy and item's description page thorougly before forking over the 2 grand. They were quite impressive - a long history in business - great customer service - and quite honestly, the best return policy in comparison to other vendors.

In multiple places throughout the site, they boasted about their in-home 60 day trials on Miele items and 14 day no questions asked returns. Unfortunately, both of which they denied me when I attempted to return MY item, on the basis that the trial "only applied to Miele vacuums" (which was not stated anywhere whatsoever.) A .GIF graphic on the Miele Rotary Iron's page even boasted about the in-home trial. Nowhere did it state in the graphic or in the site's return policy that my item was an exception to the rule. Oh, and that claim that the item is "commercial". Well, the closest thing on the item's page to "commercial" was the word "1 year residential" warranty.

GoVacuum.com recently added to the description page that the item is "Commercial". Good thinking, GoVacuum! *rolls eyes*

There are other things I could list here about how false their site's claims are and how awful their customer service was, but I don't think I have enough characters here. To put it short: After bickering with Justin (the owner?) for days, yes DAYS, and pointing out all of the false claims, he finally agreed to a full refund. Mind you, I made at LEAST a half a dozen phone calls to him and was told he would call me back each time (NONE of the times he did) so this process was NOT simple. Had I done a quick search of the company through Google, the Better Business Bureau's review would have turned up a grade of "F" for multiple false advertisement claims.

In the end, I guess I should be grateful to have my money back, but it should not have resulted to this. The return process was beyond stressful!!! I wish I would have done more research before using them. Then I would have seen how awful they really are. Next time, I'll go to Bed Bath and Beyond.

I AM just one reviewer, and you MAY have a different experience than I did, but it's up to you to decide if that's a risk you're willing to take. :-/

"What a hassle and a waste of time dealing with this company.
I ordered a steam mop, which I received broken. I returned the broken product and received a SECOND BROKEN machine.
I mailed back the SECOND BROKEN machine after I contacted the company to send me a return label since it was shipped without one.
Two weeks after mailing I contacted the company to inquire about my refund. I was told they hadn’t received it yet. According to the tracking information it had. They had ‘misplaced’ my SECOND BROKEN machine! Seriously?!
Frankly I’m shocked at the way this company does business. Shipping two broken machines and then ‘misplacing’ the return!
What a joke. Don’t waste your time.

"I saw mixed reviews for this seller but got a vacuum from them anyway. The vacuum shipped quickly and arrived in great shape. There was some crud in the box like it was sitting around somewhere for a while. Zero damage to the product so I just discarded the (dried soil) debris. I haven't had to request any customer service because the item works splendidly. The free shipping was a bonus and they also had the lowest price for the model I selected."

"Dishonest, bad customer service, not competent.

I purchase Miles S2 S2121 Olympus vacuum cleaner in August 2011. Actually I was charting with some guy in GoVacuum.com and he recommended buying this model for 299 and adding extra HEPA filter, which is optional for $50. This way I was able to save $50 vs. vacuum with preinstalled HEPA filter. I got vacuum cleaner very quickly and it works fine.
Since that time I was buying every two months vacuum bags and there were no problems till February 12, when I decided that it was time to replace a HEPA filter. As always I called and asked for HEPA filter for my model. When I got the package few days later and tried to attach a new filter I realized that it did not fit in. I did a quick research and learned that they sent me Miles Series AH-50 Active HEPA Filter - Miles Galaxy S4 Series AH-50 Active HEPA Filter and my original one was Miele Active HEPA Filter SF-AH 30. It was slightly different design and that is why it did not fit in.

I called GoVacuum customer service and said about this. “Oh, no problems, we will sent you a correct filter, just send the wrong one back when you would get it.” Month passed by. I did not get anything. I called again. Then they changed the story. “First send wrong one back and we will send you a new one.” I sent the filter (used their printed prepaid label to be fair). In a meantime another 3 weeks past by. No filter. I called again. Finally, I got a filter. When I opened the package I realized that they send me the same wrong type again.

This time around I requested money back. I send a filter 3 week ago. Never received any money back. When called they said that issued a refund. It was a lie again. I called my credit company; there was no trace of any refund.

Bottom line. Dishonest, bad customer service, not competent.

"Absolutely the WORST customer service experience I've ever had. Ordered a Miele Galaxy vaccuum canister with their "60 Day Risk Free Trial" and a phone call with someone in India who promised me that this would be a good model for my needs. I got the vaccuum and immediately saw it didn't have a beater head on it for my carpet, only a flip tool which didn't pick up anything on carpet. I immediately called them back and told them I'll be returning it and expect a full refund. 20 days after the tracking number showed delivered I still had not received my refund, so called and asked when I was going to be refunded. They told me the vacuum was damaged and I was being charged a 35 percent restocking fee # even after only using the vacuum ONE TIME! I disputed this purchase with AMEX, and was able to get my money back, but stay away from go vaccum, they are dishonest businesses people."

"Worst experience! Bought a reusable vacuum cleaner bag. The website said it would fit my vacuum. When it arrived, it didn't fit the vacuum, so I followed the GoVacuum policy for returning the item, using the return postage label inside the original package. GoVacuum claims they never received my returned product. Supposedly, Edgar "looked for it", but, of course never found it! So, they took my $20 and they probably received the vacuum cleaner bag back to sell to some other sucker. I would never buy anything from this company again."

"Absolutely horrible experience. I ordered a steam cleaner from them that arrived in a box that literally fell apart as soon as I opened it. The attachments were filthy (how does it get dirty if they are sealed in a box), and when I took out the actual machine, the bottom base of it was completely off, and broken into at least 10 pieces. Followed up with an email explaining the situation, and 10 days later, still haven't heard so much as a response. Obviously sent back the product, so we'll see how long it takes for them to refund the amount."

"I ordered a mat for my roomba and 2 days later they sent me and email stating simply that a credit had been applied to my credit card. I assumed this meant there had been a price adjustment but a week later I had to email them and found out they'd cancelled my order for some reason. I've still not received a credit for the item. They were fairly fast to respond to my email but it's disappointing their cancellation was so poorly communicated. "

"Placed 2 orders for a few brushes for my vacuum. the second order came in 3 days. First order i've got in 3 weeks after calling them for a few times(it wasn't on backorder). it was missing brush. Another 2 months of calling in order to get my brush, no result. Now i can't get my money from them for another 3 months. Castomer service horrible, rude, can't do their job. one star is a lot for them"
