"Ordered a 750gb hard drive on 8/31/07. Did not receive an order confirmation or any type of communication. A week later, and still no confirmation/cancellation/email of any kind. I log into my account to find that the order was canceled, with no reason given. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SELLER!"
"Great selection of drives (maybe the best on the web), with great prices and service. I have found them to be consistently honest, personable, and more than willing to help."
"Should have trusted my insticnts... Their website wasn't funtioning properly so placed a phone order for a hard drive + controller. Both shipped & arrived quickly, but the controller was not what I ordered - there was a sticker over the real part number with a different part number on it (ie someone was trying to pull a fast one). Returned the controller & spent the next 6 weeks trying to get my money back. Finally involved the CC Co. & got the $ resolved.
The only good thing I can say about them is that they were pleasant on the phone.
However, they have lost all future business from me."
"These guys are a bit shady. I purchased a VWIC-2MFT-T1 dual T1 cisco interface card for my router in January. I found them first in a search by price on pricegrabber or pricewatch and the reviews here were decent.
So $392 for this new retail boxed product seemed great since the next closest I saw was nearly $700 and then most places jumped to over $1000. It came in an official Cisco box in a timely manner and it worked when I installed it so I didn't think much other than "what a deal".
So now I'm researching to get a backup router and VWIC in place and I'm digging a little deeper and this site pops up again as the lowest out there and the price is even cheaper. My certified Cisco rep can't understand how these prices are possible for new retail parts.
So I talk to a sales rep (Ray at Extension 135 - he's new, my original guy is now gone - TURNOVER??) and he first tells me that they're new. I ask him to check into it and verify that I would be getting a brand new retail cisco VWIC. I explain that $800-$1400 is the range that I find for actual new ones and that I believe the the one that they sold me before was used.
Next, after talking to his manager/owner he tells me that it was a typo on the website and that he can sell me a new one at around $700. I then explain that there are an awful lot of other "typos" on that same page since the VWIC-2MFT-E1 is a couple of dollars more than the -T1 and usually it's a few hundred more than the -T1 at a reputable seller.
So in summation, there is definitely something fishy going on at this place. I'm still going to buy the VWIC cause even as a used model it's a good price but BUYER BEWARE..."
"Very competative pricing, product was in stock and shipped quickly. Customer Service was quick to take care of our mistake in ordering, issued an RMA number immediately and exchanged our product with no problem."
"There product delivery was prompt and on time. Months later I had a problem with the hard drive that was ordered and customer service was very helpful and exchanged the product which was past the warranty date."
"These guys are very good. I ordered the wrong drive by mistake & there was no problem with the return. Highly reconmended!"
"Great communication! An associate purchased the wrong drive. When I contacted the company via email, I recieved a timely callback. The tech was very knowledgable and directed me to the correct drive. He also provided an RMA number for the drives that were ordered by mistake to be returned. Overall great experience."
"I ordered items from 4 different internet resellers on the same day. Global Micro delivered my order a full 3 days before any other vendor. Global Micro not only had the best prices for the high-end disk drives that I ordered, they also had very resonable shipping and handling charges, and delivered exactly what I ordered- including all the documentation and jumpers I needed. Global Micro has moved to the top of my list for internet purchases. "
"Very satisfied with this company. They made sure they were available for any and every question, and were very helpful. I will deal with this company again in the future."
"I ordered from Global Micro and my experience was very good. The product came the next day!! All new packaging and great pricing. We will definitely do business with Global again.

"Excellent Customer Service! Everything was delivered properly and on time. The drive I ordered was too large and they replaced it with no hassle and no extra charge."
"This company is very professional, and I would order from them again. Very reasonable prices, and friendly tech support."
"I found Global Micro from pricewatch.com. I was looking for a 2.1G hard drive as an upgrade to a Maxtor 1.2G hard drive. Global Micro shipped me a Seagate 2.1G hard drive after some delay and difficulty. It turned out to have bad sectors. Eventually, I got a 2.5G Western Digital Caviar, which appears to work with no problems to date. Details follow.
I placed the initial order through their website on 3/23/03. In a phone call a couple of days later, they said they would not ship to a different physical address (my residence) that was different from my card billing address (a P.O. box), even though this option for a different shipping address was clearly provided on their website order form. They said this was for security purposes, and would require their own verification from my bank as to my residence before they would ship to my residence address. In no other instance of shopping online have I ever encountered this. They said what they would do is ship to my billing address, the P.O. Box, knowing that the P.O. box would reject it because it was from UPS, since the post office does not accept shipments from other than post office. Instead of receiving my hard drive, I would receive a card from UPS stating that I had to go to their regional office to pick up the hard drive. I can only get to my P.O. box once a week, and when I finally got the notice from UPS, it was past a deadline for pickup at the UPS outlet, and the hard drive was already shipped back to Global Micro.
I contacted Global Micro and requested another 2.1G hard drive, this time to be shipped directly to my residence address. They said they would send me another 2.1G hard drive as new, completely separate order, charging me again for this hard drive, and would credit my bank account back once they got the original hard drive back. I also demanded they ship to my residence address, but they said I would still have to contact the bank so Global Micro could verify by phone that my residence address was in fact real and my own. However, when I requested this authorization from the bank, the bank said they do not release residence information to inquirers for their own security reasons! I sent an email explaining this situation to Global Micro, and they finally agreed to send a 2.1G hard drive to my physical, residence address. The man in charge of my account was by now Mr. Edgar Garcia, a Sales Executive.
I finally received a 2.1G Seagate hard drive at my residence address on about 4/18/03. But my account had not yet been credited for the first hard drive that GMI tried to deliver to my P.O. Box.
To set up the Seagate 2.1G for my machine, I booted to DOS with Win98 Startup Disk. Ran FDISK. Drive had 2 partitions, one nonDOS, one C. Deleted both partitions. Created one, new 2.1G partition. When ran FORMAT, ran to about 60% complete, then got message "Trying to Recover Allocation Unit", starting at approximately 49,000 out of about 65,536. It took forty-five (45) straight hours longer to complete the format. When complete, summary indicated approximately 2.1G bytes total, 54M bytes in bad sectors, 2.05M bytes available. Ran Scandisk. There were alot of bad sectors, and when ScanDisk reached them, process started to take a long, long time again. I did not want to wait many, many more hours again. Terminated ScanDisk, then tried Norton Disk Doctor. Same result - same bad sectors, and Norton hanged when it reached them.
Since a significant number of sectors were bad, I requested a replacement 2.1G hard drive and RMA number on about 4/27/03. A week later, I had not yet received an RMA number, and emailed Mr. Garcia about this. In an email sent 5/5/03, Mr. Garcia assured me I would be getting the credit back on the first 2.1G hard drive. After not receiving an RMA about 6 days later, I sent another email requesting an RMA, credit back on the first hard drive sent to me, and a threat to call the Massachusetts Attorney General if Global Micro did not comply. In an email of 5/14/03, Mr. Garcia said the company never received an RMA request from me, that the problem could have been with the website, and provided me with an RMA.
I returned the defective 2.1G Seagate drive, and received a replacement 2.5G Western Digital Caviar hard drive on 5/23/03. This time, FDISK and FORMAT ran with no errors, and to date (7/10/03), there appear to be no problems or errors with using this drive.
This appears to be a predominantly Hispanic or Latino company, judging from the listing on their website of sales staff. On the shipping labels of the hard drives to me, a Mr. Juan Vasquez was listed above the company name. There were some Asian names on the sales staff list. I have mixed feelings about buying from this company again. It took me a long, drawn-out process to finally get a hard drive, but the one they sent me, a 2.5 Western Digital Caviar, is a good one, both in my own experience so far, and as mentioned by others on Usenet.
