The builder/installer assured me these would be used/refurbished/open box. I told him that you assured me they would not be and of course you were right. "Shipping was fast but it would be better if they provide tracking info for the package (they just send confirmation e-mail that you've buy something). They recommended to wait for 7-10 days before complete the tracking status from.. so it would be 7-10 days then you start to learn if something went wrong."

"Definitely all new products, but good lucky getting any warranty. Without proof of buying products from an approved reseller you are SOL if anything goes wrong. Next time I'll look for items that don't require a warranty, or just an approved reseller like accessories4less. Buy with the idea that it may as well be used, as you are taking all the risk."

"Ordering the Denon DM-38 shelf system was a breeze. It arrived in seven days. Package felt quite heavy (over 30 pounds). So far no complaints. I am more than satisfied. Denon makes the finest products and I rarely praise audio components. All I think about is coming home from work to play the Denon. My search finding shelf systems are done. Thank you so much Jeff for carrying such a fine product. I will order the Denon I pod dock soon.

P.S Please buy Denon DM-38 immediately. They sell and are a fantastic alternative to high end shelf systems. Garrett prices I needless to say are much cheaper.

"I placed an order on 10/11/11 for two Klipsch R-5650-S surround speakers and received them exactly one week later. I was able to buy two from them for the price of one everywhere else online. I was very skeptical that i would never receive the item, get a call that i needed to buy an extended warranty, or receive a used or grey market item.
But after only a week from order to delivery from Cali to SC, the speakers arrived via UPS in the OEM boxes, unopened and awesome. I feel the same as the other buyers, that i got away with something. Truth is.. the prices are legit and so are the products.

Don't worry, buy from Garrett's and save a ton of money. I have no clue how they sell for less than everyone else, but I'm not asking..

"I admit at first I was skeptical of this store because of their extremely low prices and pretty old-school website with no product pictures. BUT after reading numerous positive reviews on ResellerRatings I decided to give it a shot. After all Garrett's had by far the lowest price (by several hundred dollars!) on the amplifier I was looking to purchase.

Let's just say I'm glad I did! At my first attempt to purchase the amp, Jeff got back to me telling me his supplier couldn't drop-ship to Canada. This would probably be the end of it if I were dealing with a big company, but Jeff offered to order it himself and re-ship it for a reasonable additional shipping charge (which, given the incredibly low starting price, was really nothing), so I agreed.

The (rather huge) package arrived in the mail a week later. The duty was surprisingly *quite* reasonable, only adding to my satisfaction.

I still have that feeling that I got away with theft scot-free. Garrett's really is a great little Mom & Pop store and I'm delighted to have found them. If you're worried about whether this store is legit, stop worrying and place your order! You'll be happy you did so. Highly recommended!

"I was fortunate to find a Jamo AM4.6 unit through Garretts Smart Electronics at a great price. I researched the company through ResellerRatings.com. I was a little concerned with what I read on the site, but found that my experience was a very positive one. I purchased the unit and received an email within an hour of my purchase. My advice to any future purchaser, is to communicate clearly with Garretts Smart Electronics and ask concise questions via email. There communication with me was great. The only very minor complaint was that there wasn't a confirmation email sent to me, confirming a tracking number, or successful ship, only a email that stated "it looks like we were good to go". Nonetheless, there it was on my door step within three days. Thank you Garretts Smart Electronics for your help, great products, at a very very great price. You get 5 stars from me. "

"I ordered a small electronic item from Jeff Garrett. No word for 10 days after order confirmation. After my inquiry he replied that he did not have that item anymore. I requested cancellation and return of my money. No response, luckily I got my money back through Paypal. He then sent inappropriate messages including a voicemail on my cell with f...ing words in it. Incompetent and inappropriate merchant. "

I emailed a question to sales asking for advice on a particular set of speakers. Jeff from Garrett's contacted his distributor with my question and forwarded the reply to me within hours. I had my product 3 days after placing me order.

"Summery – A++ experience
Experience – I was shopping for home theater speakers and did a fair amount of research on what I wanted. Through Google I found my way to Garrett’s Smart Electronics and entered the brand and model number ( you may have to search brand only first to see how model numbers are listed) into the site search. When the results came back the price on each item was over 100 dollars cheaper that I had seen anyplace else. I emailed to see if the items were available and within two hours had a reply. Purchasing was smooth as was my request for a tracking number. I received a follow up email to see if I received everything OK. Later when I found out one item was defective the exchange process was easy and painless. Happy that I choose Garrett’s and will certainly check with them for my next purchase and recommend others do the same.

"I ordered an inexpensive alarm horn (SD-15W) for $2.51 (plus shipping) from this store. Several days later I received an email indicating that the product was out of stock, and that the distributor had no more, so my order was canceled. That would have been fine, but when I checked the website, the product was still listed as in stock, and for $13 (plus shipping) instead.

I replied to their email inquiring why I was told it was out of stock when the website disagreed. Here is their response in full. "There is no Pricing 'error' I found a new distributor back east Price reflects the new source..."

Edit : After leaving a harsher version of this review, I was contacted by Jeff from Garretts. He was very polite, but extremely concerned about the impact this would have on his business. He did offer to make things right, which I appreciated, so I have modified this review while leaving in the facts of what happened. The true measure of a business is not how frequently they execute perfectly, but how they handle it when a problem does arise. While I feel he made a bad decision by not initially honoring the sale because his inventory cost increased, he did offer to make things right once a complaint was posted.
