Never order ANYTHING from these people.

"Never order ANYTHING from these people.

I ordered a limited edition LP on Amazon from Ergodebooks. When they said they shipped, I asked for a tracking number. They send a scripted email WITHOUT the information I sought. Called their number, NO one picks up!

Then they pester me to remove the one-star that I assigned on Amazon. EVERY time I ask for my order, they said once they ship they bear no responsibility - BUT they DO NOT provide a tracking number. HOW do I know that they indeed shipped it???

After several emails, Amazon issued a refund but I lost the window to buy the LP for a reasonable price. That price has now gone up significantly!!

Seller routinely lies about "lost mail"

"Scam artists, pure and simple. Here's how it works:

1) You buy the book, Ergodebooks gives you a suspiciously long two-week shipment window,
2) You never receive it and contact them asking about your book,
3) They claim it's "lost in the mail" with no evidence and refuse to provide a tracking number or any other information,
4) They either refund you or stop responding and keep your money.

Many reviews on Reseller Ratings claim that this company is a "drop shipper," meaning they don't actually stock anything they claim to have and attempt to buy them after someone makes a purchase.

To top it off, in the two weeks since I bought a rare book from them that I never received, they uploaded EIGHT more copies of it ranging in price from $13 to $642!

This is a dropshipper

"This company is a dropshipper - meaning, they do not stock ANYTHING they are selling, they are purchasing from another seller and having that seller ship the item to you.
We purchased an item, the seller that shipped it included an invoice (obviously we paid a much higher price than the invoice showed) and the item did NOT come from ergode books.
The reason for all the bad reviews is simple. They stock nothing, and have a 3rd party ship the item for them.
Steer clear. All of these people are correct.

Horrible Customer Service

"This bookseller sent me a book that I did not order. I contacted them letting them know they sent the wrong book. They sent an e-mail asking for the ISBN number. I did not think this unreasonable. I supplied it and they sent another e-mail stating they could give a partial refund just in case I wanted the book they sent (?!?!?!) I let them know that I did not want the book they sent, but the one I ordered. They e-mailed back again saying they would contact me within 48 hours as to how to send it back. Never heard from them again. "

"Accepted my offer at their price, and then rescinded the offer when they realized the price on other platforms was considerably higher. Offered to ship the title if thay had it, then didn't follow thought even though the had several copies. Breach of sales contract plus breach of promise."

Sold a book they didn't actually have

"I bought a used book and paid with PayPal. The seller never provided any shipping/tracking info and didn't respond to my email requesting tracking info. Had to open a PayPal dispute to receive a refund. The seller then claimed that they had been unable to ship because the book was "out of stock". How can you sell used books that you don't actually possess?"

STAY AWAY

"Do not order from this company!!! I was repeatedly lied to, being told my book was damaged and they would send a new one and then being told it was just lost. I was told multiple times I was getting a refund and that it was processed on their side. Each time I called I was told that I would get a confirmation email for my refund immediately after the call and I never got one. They also kept saying I would get my refund in 2-3 days then they would change it to 3-5 days. I never got a refund or my book. My bank ended up reporting them as fraud. This company also has HORRIBLE customer service, the man was so rude and degrading. My mom also called and he treated her horribly. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!!!!"

Never received my item

"I paid for a book and I never received it. When I asked for tracking number, they were so hesitant to provide one. When asked for a refund, they provided a tracking number which shows a different zip code then what I provided for shipment. I highly recommend anyone think twice before doing business with this place. "

"I recieved a book that was supposed to be new. But several pages were cut out of. I had to pay shipping charges to return book for a refund!!! I doubt I will get my refund. Lesson learned.! Will post on Facebook about this crap! "

i'm changing my previous reveille

"I'll keep my old review, so people can go and read what happened before, but i have changed my rating from 1 star to 4 stars. and I'm updating my story. i contacted them yesterday, told them about the lost book, which was really a big loss as it was out of print book and i couldn't find it anywhere else. they responded within hours and returned my money directly with the shipping cost without any negotiation from my side. i really appreciated their customer service, and this is why i have changed the rating. hope this might help you.

the old review:
it's almost the same as all the reviewers before me. and I'm so sorry i didn't search them before i put my order. i made the purchase through amazon.fr and didn't think for an instant that they might be fraud. i trusted amazon. and here i am 6 weeks later and my book that supposed to be shipped from the US and I'm in Canada, didn't even arrive. they ask you to wait for 5 weeks, so after this period amazon refused to return the money and asked me to contact the seller, which after reading all these reviews i think will not respond to me. I'm so disappointed, i paid $34.

Dishonest company

"All of the bad reviews are not wrong!
I purchased an out of print book. Three days later I was refunded for it with no email explaining why. I figured it was just out of stock, but they re-listed two of the same book the same day both for twice as much money. ($27 to $57!)
I called to try to figure this out and the man said "It is a technical issue. You may place the order again." I told him I wanted it for the price I had originally purchased it for. He said, "Oh wait, it is a problem. We are out of stock." But the books remained on the site for sale.
They are a very, very dishonest company. It's too bad. The author was my grandfather and I was attempting to purchase his book for my child to have. So unfortunate!

"Scam company -- avoid at all costs. Ordered a book from them which never arrived; they wouldn't provide tracking info or any proof they even sent it, and refused a refund. Wish I'd seen all the other warnings about them before I'd ordered. Don't get ripped off too -- avoid them at all costs!"

Awlful!! Scam

"Would give a 0 stars if available.Ordered a college text book for my son. Weeks went by-never received it. Charge went through. Called multiple times was told "lost in transit" although didn't have my item number yet??. Asked for refund -they said I would receive a notice email in 24 hours then changed to 2-3 business days. Called again after no email received. Very rude and difficult to understand customer service rep. I asked for the mailing address of the seller company and he told me "TEXAS". I said that is a very big place and asked for further info and stated he "we don't have that info". "I told you you will get a refund and email confirmation." Never did and no book so my son really was out of luck. This business should be closed down."

HORRIBLE COMPANY!!

"If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is the absolute worse. They gave me nothing but pure hell during my ordering process. I ordered through Biblio.com after reading good reviews and the decent pricing on their books. I ordered a book that I needed for class. After ordering, I received an email the very next day stating that my book had been shipped. This email did not contain a tracking number or the company that the book was shipped through. I reached out to this company to obtain this information and was hung up on twice. I was asked multiple times by the representative if I wanted to cancel my order because he didn’t have a tracking number for me. I demanded to speak with a supervisor in which I was informed that the book had been shipped, but he didn’t have a tracking number and wasn’t sure who it was sent through. He then promised that he’d locate the information and email it to me within 24 hours. I never received this email so I called the company again. The SAME representative was beyond rude and refused to let me speak to the superior or another representative to help with my concerns. After going back and forth he refused to help me at all. I then contacted Biblio.com in which sent a message over to the company asking for the information. Today I get an email saying my order has been cancelled and my obey has been refunded due to a lost or damaged package. So now I won’t have my book in time to start my LAST semester of graduate school. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are very rude and sketchy. They don’t have any customer service skills whatsoever! They shouldn't be allowed to operate with such poor people skills and ripping off college students. It’s sad and ridiculous."
