"Boy am I mad! Wish I would have looked them up before I did any business with them. First they charged my credit card twice, that took a month to fix, now it's Aug 8th and I'm still waiting for my CD drive! I called mad because every time I call they say "it shipped out today" my a$$. And he had the nerve to say "don't get mad it's only $12.00" I will never buy from them and I will do everything to make sure they don't take anymore money from anyone else!

Along with the BBB address at the bottom go to www.dca.ca.gov to report them to the Department of Consumer Affairs in California.


After telling them I am contacting BBB and DCA they have shipped "something" out of California and I should get it next week, after reading all these posts I'm scared to see what's in the box!

"Thanks to eDotDirect, aka Advanced Vision, aka IO Sales, I never make an on-line purchase without checking Reseller Ratings first. This company has got to be the poster child for checking ratings!
My only consolation is that VISA takes fradulent chrges pretty seriously, and only a month and a half after these crooks got the bait-and-switch computer back in their filthy hands, I got my refund.

"UPDATE3: July 23 (order placed on June 11). Still no monitor!!!!!! Was promised again last week that I would have a tracking number the next day. Yeah right..................

UPDATE2: Partial order arrived overnight?!?! That was the first positive thing that's happened. Unfortunately, they conveniently forgot to ship the keyboard. Good thing it's not a more expensive component missing. System is fully operational and I comfortable with the equipment I did receive. Hopefully, the monitor will arrive soon and I can move on.

UPDATE: My order has finally shipped 14 days after it was placed. That is to say PART of it shipped. A 17" monitor has not shipped with the rest of the order. No mention of why just a short note saying it has not shipped.

"Bought 2 athlon systems last year. A month ago, they both died: video card failure, then HDD (or controller) failure. Very disappointed in the quality of these systems. Haven't had problems like this with any other vendors. Haven't contact the company yet regarding returns, but don't have much hope after reading other review on this site."

"I have ordered about a dozen computer systems from this company in the last year. My only complaint is that their shipping is extremely SLOW. I did notice in the last week that their 800 number has been disconnected. That's not a good sign!!"

"This is the worst service I have ever had from any vendor I have ever used.
They shipped my order a week late, no one answers the phone when you call for follow up, they tell you items have been shipped when they have not, no replies to email, refuse to send tracking numbers. Impossible to run a business with companies like edotdirect.com

"In all fairness, the item in question (Abit KT7E motherboard) arrived today and is in working order and fixed the problems I was experiencing with previous motherboard. Edot Direct was one of only two places I could find this board on Pricewatch. The other place wanted $16 more for a two year old board. Had I checked this forum first I probably would have paid the extra.

I placed this order on Monday morning and never received an email confirmation. Tuesday evening (about 30 hours after purchase) I called their 800 number and was told that an email was sent and that the board shipped Tuesday morning.

I was expecting this by Friday so on Thursday (3 days after purchase) when I received an email from UPS stating that the package had shipped I was rather confused. I opened the tracking page from UPS and it said that the package was received (origin scan) at 9pm Wednesday night. The Edot customer disservice representative lied to me when they said that it shipped Tuesday morning or some middle-man held onto it a long time before UPS got it. And they shipped via UPS instead of FedEx like I paid $11 for (3-day select, the cheapest shipping option from the website).

I can't forgive this company for lying to me over the phone. After reading the other comments on this forum I count myself very lucky to have received the correct item in working order but I won't be doing business with Edot (or IO Sales or any of their other aliases) again. And after reading the comments on this forum I will be keeping a very close eye on my bank account to make sure it's not charged again.

"I've placed an order for a CD-ROM Drive back in Sep 24 of 2002. I am currently writing on Feb 6 2003 saying that neither my CD-ROM drive nor a refund has come in for the product even after calling at least 10 times asking for either. They claim they switched parent companies, however they still have my order# on file and have not issued the refund even though every time I call they say they will that very day. This is the 2nd time I've ordered from these people and am greatly disappointed by their service."

"DO NOT BUY FROM EDOT DIRECT! Read these reviews and you've heard my story too. Didn't get the order on time as promised... "on back order but we'll put in a bigger hard drive to make it up to you"... doesn't show up... email...mail box full...call...no answer, voice mail box full... etc. Only with my story, there's an extra suprise. I finally did get the computer one month after it was orginally promised. BUT... one month later... I get charged again for the same computer. Three hundred twenty seven bucks... and guess what happens when I call, and email. Live and learn. Never buy from EDot Direct; tell a friend."

"Unfortunately companies like this exist. I have to whole-heartedly agree with the other negative posts... STAY AWAY! I ordered a PC, and since I physically live 1 mile from their office, the rep who took my order offered pick up instead of shipment. That was going to save me $30 in S/H charges. The salesperson at the time said their back-end system was down, so he would call to confirm my order that same day. No phone call was ever received. The next day I received a confirmation email (The price of the PC, sales tax, AND S/H charges of $30). I called and explained to the receptionist to please not ship my order, it was scheduled for pickup. She said she would print out my order, hand it to someone in sales and I would get a call back. Again, no call back from anyone. So, I emailed the following day (big surprise, no response). So I faxed them a letter of complaint (no response to this communication either). Then, to top things off, I got an email with a UPS tracking number, so I called them back, and had to leave a message. It was never returned. The PC ended up being held in a UPS facility in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA for over a week (keep in mind I live 5,200 feet from their office). It was finally re-routed and I received the PC. It would fdisk and format, but would not accept any OS I tried to install. I was finally fed up, and drove down to their office, and asked for a refund. The guy (Steve, I believe), just asked if I wanted to return it. He didn't offer any help or apologies. He said it's bad RAM, do you want a refund? Like it didn't matter if the customer was satisfied or not. My take is, hey, they already made their money by making me pay a $30 shipping charge (it costs less than 8 dollars to have UPS deliver it ground). And to top it all off, I could not make them refund me the $30 in shipping. All I got was, "I'm sorry my hands are tied, there is nothing I can do about it." What a scam. I'm glad I made them sign my return, so I have proof they received the PC and all its parts in full. My next call is to my bank (since I haven't seen the credit to my account), and then to the local BBB. "

"These people sent me an email a week after I placed the order to tell me that they did not have the stock to fill my order. They used the word "PROMISE" and said it would be shipped monday dec. 1st. I just got off the phone with someone. Said it was shipped yesterday. Then I got a little upset and asked why nobody contacted me back from my monday phone call. I had called them monday morning to ask about upgrading shipping as I need what I ordered. The guy said he would call me back that day. No call. When talking to the guy today he said the order shipped yesterday. I told him I was going to refuse the order and send it back and want my money back. He then asked me to hold on. When he came back on the phone he said he had my package in his hand? Now I ask how this is possible if it was sent yesterday? Thank god though. I then asked that they keep it and give me my money back. Guess I shoulda looked at there ratings before I bought. Was not until this morning that I looked em up and nothin but icky icky icky they say. DON"T BUY! Not worth the hassle at all! They have some work to do on how they run their business."

"09/05 day1: Placed order for a 900mHz Duron system with 30GB HD with edotdirect.com. $230.
09/05 day1: Order accepted with payment.
09/09 day3: Invoice printed.
09/11 day5: No email with shipping confirmation, I called... "Should ship tomorrow."
09/16 day8: I called again. Steve said, "Your order is backordered for the hard disk."
09/18 day10: I called again. Steve said, "Your order is still backordered for the hard disk, we'll put in a bigger drive for the same price and ship today or tomorrow."
09/19 day11: I called again. Receptionist said, "Your computer is b/o for a hard disk." I said I was aware of that and was promised a bigger HD and the unit would ship last night or today.” I was placed on hold 15 minutes.
Person2 picks up, “Who are you waiting for?”
I reply, “Someone is checking the status of my order.”
“What is your order#?”
I give the order#.
“Your order will ship Saturday.” (9/21)
“Which hard drive size did you end up putting in it?”
“I’ll have to check on that.”
I wait on hold another 15 minutes.
Steve picks up this time, “Who are you waiting for?”
I explain everything, Steve says he remembers me. “I swear to God we’ve really been swamped with orders and haven’t been able to get the hard drives in at the price we need in order to make money. They should be arriving tomorrow (9/20 Friday) and we will ship yours Friday or Saturday.
I said, “Ok, I will contact you Friday evening to confirm shipment.” He agreed.
09/20 day 12: Phone calls to this number go to an answering machine whose massage taking capabilities are full. Later that day, a massaging service responds. The choices are 1) enter the number of the person you are trying to reach, 2) hang up.
09/23 day 13: Same answering service scenario.

I seem to be out $230 plus $30 shipping.

Wisah I would have seen this site sooner.
