"Purchased memory from them on August 31st. I have yet to see it and have been unable to get a response out of them. Good thing I only paid $9 (including shipping). I would have checked here first if I had been looking to make a bigger purchase."

"I'm sure we are all aware by now that we were screwed. I have since contacted my CC and the BBB. They have since changed their name to International Brands West Inc. At the BBB they don't even have edgemicro.com or their former name of International Computer-Xpress Inc. These people are on the move paper-wise but their phone number remains the same and so does their address. They take unsuspecting good folks' money and give them squat in return. I live on a fixed income, I can't afford feeding the coffers of some unscrupulous cons.
Update: 10/28/02 Please contact the Oregon Attorney General's office/ fraud division. Start at Oregon Government. When you get there (fraud division)list everything you know with as many names, dates and other details that you have. Also any updated Co. names that you have found. They gave me the impression that they would be looking at it, but we must not leave any stone unturned until we get these slugs taken care of! The more people that contact them, may speed the process up. My credit card got my money, but if you don't have all the details, it's just going to take longer. I filed a complaint from the BBB, but as they don't belong, I don't know as they can really do anything about it, Oregon & Washington state have separate BBBs. Hang in there folks!

"Placed online order for RAM on August 23rd. Despite no indication of back order status, item did not ship until 2.5 weeks later. Customer service email not replied to until 2 days later & no explanation was given as to the delay. They only wrote, "As of today, your order has not shipped. Your order should ship within the next few business days." This was written two weeks after my order was placed. Unfortunately, I did not check with reseller ratings before my order was placed. Clearly I am not alone in my poor experience with them. I recommend that you stay far away from these guys - go with http://www.newegg.com, whose prices are very reasonable and service is great. Note - I have no vested interest in newegg - just a satisfied customer.

"I purchased memory for one of our network computers from your company. Fourteen days have passed without the items being shipped. Your 800 number does not even function and emails go unanswered.
I am happy that this happend now because you will not recieve the orders to upgrade the rest of our network.

"This company is terrible. Just don't bother-they lie and cheat you at every step.

My story...

I was upgrading memory on a Dell inspiron laptop. This laptop is picky about PC100/133 memory. So using pricewatch I found that they had reasonaly priced memory. I proceeded to order "PC100" memory. When I recieved the memory I had a edgemicro label that said PC100, but the memory wouldn't work. Lifting up the label revealed that it was in fact PC133. I emailed the company and they said that I could ship it back to them AT MY COST and they would ship new memory to me AT MY COST. They said it was my fault when I pointed out that they made the mistake of selling me something different. So I proceeded to ship the memory back to them in a smaller box (so I didn't have to pay $30 in shipping). One week later I got the package back. They rejected it because it wasn't in the "proper sized box". This is complete BS, so I called my CC company and explained to problem. Sure enough, Edgemicro had at least 50 complaints. Fortunately my CC company told me to keep the memory (since I tried returning it) and I would get my money back. I ended up with free memory so I gave it to a friend. Sure enough it died 6 weeks after installing it. It now makes a cool keychain and that is about all the memory is worth. Stay away from these guys, as you WILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THEM. Their cheap prices are because they have screwed at least several other for each legit sale. Just search google.com for "edge micro rating" and you will find complaints everywhere.

"LYING, STEALING INCOMPETENT PIGS running a crooked company on the internet with no conscience about robbing an honest hard working person of his or her money. That’s basically what edgemicro.com is. Don’t stop there though, from my experience it appears they are also RACIST. I called to complain about an order and heard someone pick up the phone, then I heard the phone slam, heard a quick click (or static) noise, then I heard people talking. My guess is they were already angry at someone (or some people) that had been calling previously and what I heard spoken next confirms it. The slamming is what probably caused the receiver to bounce and stay slightly off the hook of the base or it was actually sitting on the base but the hangup mechanism broke upon impact. Just like when you momentarily press and let go of the hangup button, hear a click but the person on the other end is still there, in this case the button was hit very hard, very fast, it clicked but broke instantly before it had a chance to disconnect the line. (I’ve seen this happen and it explains the quick staticy noise I heard.) Anyway, here I was actually listening to these morons talk amongst themselves. Next thing I hear is some guy saying “why do we always get these fu***** ni**** (yes, the “n” word) monkeys that don’t have a clue? They should be climbing trees in Africa, not building computers in USA…. Blah blah ” The guy just kept on and on while other voices in the background laughed. I hung up after a few minutes because I was at work. I only wish I would have been at home and would have a recorder ready but at least I got some of my other co-workers to listen in. At my job, if my boss ever hears of a racist remark made by anyone about any religion, nationality or color, joking or not, they get fired on the spot. It makes me wonder what type of person runs this edge micro place or if it’s run by anyone at all or if that was the owner himself saying those things. I called back a few minutes later and the phone was busy and this was the local number ***-***-**** not the 1-800 (which never works anyway.) I don’t care about their racist attitude, I just think this story reflects well upon the type of people they are and how they do business and why I will never buy from them again. By the way, I never got my problem solved, which was exchanging or getting a refund for the defective ram I received and I’m sure that’s no surprise to the rest of the writers on this site. I’m lucky it was only $16 and I can just take it as a lesson learned and keep moving. I don’t have time to file official complaints like some other people here wisely suggest but if I could I would. Good luck and take care."

"LAW SUIT will be filed against this ILLEGAL organization. I NEED YOUR HELP. Please email the better business bureau or other appropriate authorities to take them out of business as soon as possible. If you know any lawyers, contact them too. Obviously pricewatch doesn't give a crap about listing these scumbags just as long as pricewatch gets a percentage out of all the poor people that see the low prices and make the mistake of ordering. MAKE NO DOUBT, they will be out of business very soon. I am too disgusted about what happened to me to even write about it here. I just want them to see them go down and get prosecuted."

"Absolutely do not order from these thieves. I ordered 2 memory chips for my laptop & got no response for 2 weeks. Of course they did manage to charge my card promptly. After several E-Mails trying to cancell my order they gave a false tracking number & then shipped anyway claiming the order had already went out. Total BULL. I told them I would refuse the shipment & I expected a refund.
Still no use.... the UPS driver left it on my doorstep anyway even though I posted an 8x10 sign stating not leave any packages from EdgeMicro. I filed with the BBB I am still waiting to hear what my options are. The box remains unopened until then.
REPEAT: DO NOT ORDER from EDGE MICRO, it will only be a waste of good money.
I would be willing to join any lawsuit against this company should anyone know of one pending.

"I have paid for UPS two day air and it’s been 3 days now and they just sent my order today. I had to call long distance to their local number since 1800 is not working. Then I've mentioned to Jason (CSR), that it's not going to be 2 or even 3 day, but more like 5-6 days and asked them to reimburse me for a shipping charge, he simply sad No. Then I asked to talk to his manager he refused me again. This is a last time I am buying something from Edgemicro. It's plenty of good retailers around and I hope this one going to be out of business soon."

"WARNING: DO NOT INSTALL MEMORY BOUGHT FROM EDGE MICRO, especially if you have a high-end system. It can damage other memory you may already have on your motherboard as well as damage the motherboard itself. Memory is also the main cause for system lockups and performance degrade so it obviously needs to be of decent quality. If you’re reading this message, you know by now edge micro is far from being a decent company. I bought ram from them last month and it DESTROYED other ram it was connected with on a computer I was building."

"I specifically registered on this site so I can voice my opinion on how BAD Edge Micro is. I ordered a 256M PC2100 stick advertised through pricewatch and THEN decided to look them up on this site for kicks. I was horrified to read the reviews, but seeing as they've already charged my credit card (2 hour time frame) I decided to give them a week. After a week of checking on the status of my order without any changes I decided to cancel and buy from a local store. The instructions on their website states to call a 800 and speak to a customer service agent to cancel an order...but NOONE EVER PICKS UP. I then called the long distance number and was put on hold (automatically) for over half an hour and still no signs of any agent. Even to this day EdgeMicro is still sending me emails stating that my order was delayed but will be shipped soon. I have already called my credit card company and they've issued me temporary credit for 60 days. I regret ever even thinking about purchasing from this company. BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT BE A FOOL LIKE ME!"

"Don't buy anything from these site. I did once and it will be the last. The only quick response I got was from Pame Chow (****@****), after I cancelled my order and sending a not so kind e-mail to her she credited my credit card within 24 hours. Don't waste your time calling their 800#, always busy; if you dial their direct line ***-***-****, you'll probably get a fellow named Jason who will tell you the order will be shipped that day, don't believe this guy, he just wants you off his back for a week or so. Hopefully Pricewatch.com will get their name off the list. EdgeMicro does not deserve to have their name next to other honest companies."
