No help at all. Sad business running

"I bought a sheet music book and a cup and of course all i got was the sheet music. Had the cup been for a normal situation whatever but being its for my childs birthday in a few days im very unhappy especially seeing how i waited longer than said for shipping to begin with all to not get what i fully paid for with my hard earned money. We call that theft in most places. No return messages explaining why or to replace or refund that items money that never showed up. Will definitely never return and will sway anyone i ever talk to away from as this is the worst customer service ive ever experienced with anything. Ive seen flea market vendors with better business ethics!"

Lies. Deception. Don't risk it.

"Every guarantee is followed by a qualifier "unless". I placed my order on Monday, February 3, at 9:05 a.m. This qualified for same-day shipping. "unless." I paid $12 extra for upgraded shipping and delivery. "unless." 2-3 days. The website indicates a tracking number will be provided. On February 5, I was notified that the order had been shipped. No true.

On Saturday afternoon, February 8, I received notice that the packet had been shipped that day. Today, I have notice that it will be delivered on Thursday, February 13.

At no point did East Coast Music notify me that the order would be delayed. They made reference to the "unless" qualifier in the service description.

I should have suspected something when I saw that they don't list a phone number unless you email and request it. Maybe they've had a problem with dissatisfied customers.

Beware

"I bought some Beach Boys music from them as a surprise for our new chorus and our director. The director didn't feel the music was a good fit for us and told me to send it back. The invoice had a bill to address and then an address on the top of the invoice so I sent the music back with tracking to the address on the top of the invoice.

After a month I didn't hear anything from them so I called them but they didn't answer the phone. Instead they emailed me and said they don't do returns unless they are arranged in advance. They also said that it is against the copyright law to return music which is confusing because jwpepper returns and exchanges music daily and they are very easy to work with. Additionally there was nothing on there in voice that said anything about how returns were handled there could be a small notation saying for returns please contact your office for details but there is nothing.
They also made a strange comment saying that all businesses require prior approval for returns which I find confusing how they would know what all businesses do also I've returned things without calling the company I bought it from on many occasions.

We went back and forth for a while via email and I sent them proof of my return and a receipt from the post office saying it was received. However even though it was a small purchase they would not respond to my request for a refund or even a credit.

So I paid to have it shipped to me and to have the unused sheet music shipped back and for the product and I'm out all that money. If you are looking for some place to buy sheet music I would go elsewhere.

By the way I am a small business owner and I would prefer to treat my customers with respect and if there was a mistake at least provide a credit specially for a small purchase like this.

"5 Stars for the best price on a rare publication; the present was a hit. The payment was taken immediately & I received a receipt & another email stating I would receive a tracking number for my order within “24 hours.”

Minus 2 Stars for having to ask for said tracking number/order status after no communication 9 calendar days later (5 business days, if accounting for the weekend after the Thursday my order was placed + 2 days for the Christmas holiday during the week following); all despite Eastcoast Music stating I would have that info within 24 hours. It was only after I reached out that they had bothered to process my order according to the tracker they finally sent.

Minus an additional Star for Customer Service repeatedly not addressing my concern & finding it sufficient that they sent an email with a statement of a 24 hr follow up they did not make good on.

My suggestion: Do follow up with you clients 24 hours after they pay & make the order. Do give an approximate on “processing time,” especially when a client pays $20 for express shipping. Do acknowledge & be transparent about what went awry when a customer says they do not appreciate having to ask when you plan to make good on your agreements. And finally, buyer beware - this company is legitimate, but you may have to wake them up & hold their hand throughout the process.
