I called the company on Friday late afternoon to ask if the tires I wanted were in stock and was told they were. I placed the order of for 4 tires with Randy and he said I should get them in two to three daysvia UPS. About an hour later I received an E-mail stating my tires were packed and ready to go and was given the UPS tracking no. That evening I went to check on the tracking no. and found that the tires had been picked up and was scheduled for Tuesday del. but was moved up to Monday early del. Today is Monday, Igot the tires, Called my closest Direct Discount installer,went there and had the tires installed by 11:30 AM. Now that's what I call great service. OH Ya the tires are great. "

"I had no problems with Discount Tire Direct. I wasn't sure about some of the technical issues, so I used their chat. I got honest and accurate answers. I placed my order by phone, and the rep emailed me a copy of the order listing all the items. I received my order in good condition in just a few days. In fact, as soon as the wheels came in stock, UPS was dropping them off in my driveway about a day later. I chose DTD because they had the wheels that I wanted and a fantastic price. "I just ordered a set of wheels from DTD, and am ultimately pleased with my experience, but not overall.Looking online yesterday for wheels, I wanted to confirm with their local installer first that they'd accept the order and set that up before I placed the order with DTD. They had me tracked by cookies (given that the page with the wheels I was interested in reopened with my car details listed on top), but today when I went to order, the wheels were 30% higher in price. I chatted with Jim who was unable to give me the original price, but who was able to reduce the "new price" by half and throw in a set of lug nuts for free. I'm sure this was a classic bait and switch.However, the wheels are nice and they're at a good price even at the higher price and I haven't found wheels at this price otherwise.So if you're going to buy from DTD, do it right away at the bait price because if you go back tomorrow, that price will be different and you'll have to spend time negotiating a new price which will not be as good."
"I ordered a set of tiers from Discount Tire Direct online. They send automated email confirmation right away, and it allows you to track the shipment progress through the UPS website. I’m comfortable dealing with them again. Only drawback is that if you live in Canada, it may not be worth it for you.
Although they offer UPS Ground Shipments to Canada free of charge, they charge a flat fee of $160 for the “Prepaid Canadian Tarriff Fees.” I’m not certain how they came up this value, but as of my writing in August 2012, this amount basically covers the entire cost of UPS shipment (including customs fees). So, after all, you are paying for your own shipment.
Furthermore, (this isn’t Discount Tire’s fault but) when you use your credit card for the online purchase, the US to Canadian dollar conversion rate is set by the credit card company, and it is not that great. When I ordered, Canadian dollar was stronger than US dollar, but the converted Canadian tire price was more expensive than the US price on the website.
As a result, the tier I saw on the website for $79 US each came out to be $124 CDN each, and I still have to pay for the installation. For that kind of price, I could have bought much better quality tire locally. Something to think about before you make a decision."
"I called and made an appointment on a Thursday with NTB in Allen to look at my RV tires for warranty reasons. Since my appointment was late in the day, I assumed (correctly) that they would not be able to get hold of Michelin. Therefore, I would have to bring my RV back to get the tires replaced, but at least they got the information they needed to contact Michelin. The manager, Brad, was supposed to call me back Friday. Since he hadn t called, I called back on Saturday and spoke with him. He had not contacted Michelin yet. He called me back later. We set up an appointment for the following Wednesday. I asked him to check stock. He didn t have enough in stock, but said he would have some by my appointment. I called back on Tuesday to verify that he had the tires. Brad said that he would check and call me back. He didn t. I called Wednesday before taking my RV to NTB (takes about $20 in gas for a round trip to the storage place, NTB and back home). Brad doesn t work on Wednesday. The manager on duty, Chris, had no record of any appointment. He also didn t have enough tires. The best he could do was to get some tires in by Friday. Since the work had to be done between 9am and 4:30pm during the week (only time that Michelin could authorize the work), I had taken the day off of work to do this. Needless to say, I was furious. I called Discount Tire in Mckinney, and spoke with Barry, the manager. I explained what had happened and he jumped into high gear. They didn t have enough tires in stock, so he got my information and said he would call me back as soon as he could find some. Thirty minutes later, he had found some and was having them shipped to his store ASAP. By the time I got there forty minutes later, the tires were there and they were ready for me. Discount Tire, specifically Barry, went above and beyond what anyone could expect. I have three cars plus and RV and all of them will be using Discount Tire in McKinney (the Eldorado location) for their next set of tires."

"Don't be afraid to buy your tires from Discount Tire Direct. It was one of the most satisfying buying experiences I've had in a long time. And I really mean that. There is no long waiting lines, no bumbko sales associates trying to tell you your air filter needs changed for only 100 dollars, no bad waiting room music, no greasy guys winking at me, and excellent service. Not only that, they are great tires for less than i can get anywhere. AND i didn't buy the warranty, but i should have. ONE day after mounting my tires, I ran over the end of a bungee cord. pierced right through. I call DTD, and they offer to sell me the warranty after the fact, then proceed to ship my replacement tire free of charge, right away. How can you get any better than that? "I have to say that I am extremely happy with this merchant. I cracked a rim on my Expedition and have been driving around on the spare for months trying to located a replacement. The Ford dealerships wanted $535 for a single steel rim!
I finally gave up and decided to just buy a completely new set of rims. I looked at a number of both online and local retail sources when I came upon Discount Tire Direct. They had a rim I liked at reasonable prices.
After picking out the rim I decided to call the company to verify that the rims would both fit my truck and that my current tires (relatively new) would fit on these rims.
Once all was verified, the gent I spoke with dropped the price another $50 so the bottom line was a I got all four alloy rims, caps and chrome valve stems and the lug-nut set with key, shipped for $456!
To top things off, I was expecting processing and shipping to take a week or so but I ordered the things on a Tuesday and had them in hand by 1:00 Thursday!
I have since taken them to my local Firestone and had the tires remounted. Everything fit perfectly. No issues with rims and the things look terrific.
All in all, you can't have a better online ordering experience than that!

"DTD has a reputation on the web for having excellent customer service. I once posted something on a web forum about DTD and a customer service rep emailed me concerning it. They have employees that participate in relevant forums and I've seen many good things posted on the company.
After having a terrible experience with Wheels Next, I ordered a set of wheels and tires from DTD. The set was balanced and shipped out the next day. The wheels were made by Vision and due to poor design, two of the center caps broke when I installed them. I emailed DTD and they sent replacements at no extra charge. I didn't even need to send back the broken center caps. They could have told me to contact the manufacturer, but they went above and beyond my expectations."
"I recently ordered a set of Goodyear Duratrac tires from Kyle Kennedy at Discount Tire Direct, I received them in perfect condition yesterday and had them mounted and balanced today. I spent weeks trying to find a set of these tires in a large size (315 75R16) and it was proving to be very difficult to find them locally, or anywhere in the US or Canada that wasn’t going to take at least 6 weeks to arrive. They were sold out everywhere and no one was able to give me an estimated ship date any closer than 6 weeks. There were a couple places that showed in stock on the website but the shipping was anywhere from 500-800 bucks (to BC, Canada) so I didn’t even bother calling to verify stock.
Then I found Discount Tire Direct and when I typed in my postal code it said free shipping and naturally I thought this was an error. So I called and got Kyle on the phone, very helpful and knowledgeable guy. He said I have good news and bad news, that they didn’t have any immediate stock but were expecting a shipment the following week. I asked about the free shipping thing and he said it was no mistake but that they do in fact ship free to the US and Canada! He assured me that the UPS man would not show up at my door with his hand out. I was skeptical seeing as I’d been spending weeks trying to find any tires in the size I needed in an all-season with the snowflake rating. Turns out there are only 2 tires on the market in my size with that and they were both sold out everywhere.
After reviewing them online it seemed they were legit so I phoned back and ordered my tires, Kyle took my order over the phone to make sure that when they arrived I had dibs on my set when they arrived and when done he e-mailed me a screenshot of the invoice from his computer. They ended up being $300 cheaper than any quote I got locally. We arranged a ship date and they actually ended up coming a day early which worked out perfectly for me. They shipped out on Dec 1 and arrived Dec 8 (6 business days). As promised no money was exchanged at the door and I am extremely happy with my order and the level of customer service I received at Discount Tire Direct. All of my future tires will be purchased through them."
