"Like other reviewers noted, Corsair has horrid customer support. I bought my corsair xms 2 memory at Newegg with a promise of a $30 rebate. I bought my corsair xms 2 memory at newegg with a promise of a $30 rebate. I sent in a handful of documents in order to prove that I bought my product including the upc code, filled out form, invoice and mailed it in to the provided address. It seems that they do this in order to say that you forgot to mail in one of the documents, it was a feeling not different to applying for a passport or citizenship when all that was necessary was an invoice proving my purchase.

I waited the full wait time that was stated on their form of I believe 8 weeks, then I started to do some investigating as I did everything that was asked. I checked at their site only to find out that it stated that my rebate inquiry was "invalid" because I did not provide them with a UPC code. So I'm thinking to myself, let me call their tech support, I was able to fish out their special rebate line in order to talk to a knowledgeable representative, and boy was I wrong.

When I got in touch with a lady representative, she seemed very rude, as if she was doing me favors and kept talking to me in a condescending voice as if I was a silly child. Stating that I forgot to put in the upc code and if I made any copies of it. It got me thinking, are these people serious? Are they trying to say that I can't follow simple instructions in their form, or I would be negligent enough to forget something that would benefit me. And second, how could they miss or loose my UPC code but retain my invoice? Are they loosing things selectively or is this a big scam.

Then she instructed me to mail in the invoice that they still had in their possession! Why might you ask? Well, because she was too lazy to look for it in their warehouse, and she was doing me another favor, *Sarcasm* Thanks! Well like a silly fool I sent out my invoice the second time hoping for the best, before I read the plight of other people fooled by this Mikey Mouse bs. Now more than 3 months after the purchase I am left feeling tricked and frustrated.

It is very troubling that a global company like corsair with such a reputation would engage in such shenanigans. The rebate was a big part in my decision to buy the product, and at every step of receiving the rebate I was treated like I am a bum looking for a handout or food stamps, this episode has permanently stained my view of Corsair.

"Refused to grant rebate even though I was in full compliance. Claimed not to have received the information. I have USPS receipt that proves otherwise. Dishonest merchant!"

"Invoice is from Newegg, where the ram was purchased. I spent $220 on some ram and Im sure I sent the rebate in time and I never got my rebate either, just a card saying I was late. If I was late I would not have bothered to waste a stamp! Im not sure if Corsair actually handles the rebates but to me it looks bad on them. I am looking to purchase a Core2duo motherboard combo, evga 7950x2 and I found some Corsair DDR2 XMS ram and it has a $40 rebate! But oh yeah I never got my last $40 rebate. PS I also own TWINX2048LLPRO very pricey at the time. There RAM is fine and I never had a problem with their customer service but their stupid rebate...lost them a customer.

UPDATE: I have ordered another 2 sets of Pricey DDR2 ram from Corsair. One of them has a rebate which I intend to mail as soon as the ram arrives. I will report how things go this time. I had to order Corsair because I am a die hard Asus fan and they are THE most reccommended ram for asus.

Update: I did get the 2nd rebate. Though I was starting to think it was never coming it did arrive.

"Horrible, scamming company that does not honor their rebates. I was ripped off for a $40 rebate that they rejected after it was submitted properly originally and resubmitted. Beware!"

"Update (1/26/04) Originally I had written this as a negative review, but I finally got a RMA # from Corsair. I sent them my defective PC2400 RAM and they sent me back PC2700 RAM which is great. Overall I'm happy that they were able to resolve my issue. Corsair needs to greatly improve their RMA system. Right now it looks like only one person is handling all those RMA requests. I originally bought this RAM in 2001, but for some reason ResellerRatings won't let me enter 2001 as the purchase date."

"Originally purchased Corsair memory from Monarch computer in Feb.,2003.
Bought a new motherboard in August, installed the memory and I could not even post.
Contacted Corsair throught their website and the Ram Guy user forums,"Warranty questions", explained my problem. They gave me an RMA # and I sent the bad memory modules to them on the 12th of Sept,2003, I received the replacement memory on the 19th of Sept. installed it and it is running great.
All in all a very easy process for returning defective parts with a lifetime warranty.
Most companies will force you to deal with the reseller first, and if you get no results from the reseller then they will help you.
I like the fact that I could go straight to the manufacturer and get my problem taken care of.
I will definitely purchase Corsair memory products in the future.

"Purchased from newegg. Nothing to complain about newegg, great company and great service. This is about Corsair miserabiles, no customer service, nothing. No answer on email, no RMA#, simply put "lifetime" warranty is good for nothing at all."
