Corsair Rebate Joke

"I purchased a Corsair power supply online. One of the reason's I chose that one was it offered a $20 rebate. I registered the rebate online, and then mailed the receipt and the UPC from the box as per their instructions. It's important to note that I live in the same city as the rebate mailing address, so USPS usually delivers mail in the same city in about a day. I received an email from Corsair to track the status. When I follow the link, it says "We have not yet received the mail-in portion of your rebate; please allow 21 days from the mail-date for the rebate to be entered into our system." So, I waited, checking every so often. After quite some time has passed, with no update, I contacted Corsair via chat. The person was very rude, and claimed it was lost in the mail. How she could know this, I have no idea. Then she told me to resubmit the rebate. I told her I couldn't, as there is only one UPC, and I mailed it. She basically told me that it **** to be me, and that not keeping copies makes me ineligible for the rebate. I believe Corsair had no intention of honoring their rebate, and I will never buy anything from them again, and will urge my friends and family to do the same.

"corsair rebate is a joke - I spent time filling out forms correctly, attaching the upc label and nicely mailing it out. About a week later, i get an email with tracking info that shows my rebate to be invalid because its missing the UPC label !! seriously! I confirmed it 3 times before sealing it and now this!
This is not the first time this has happened -corsair in the past has done this couple times ... now i just don't buy anything corsair with a rebate - its a joke and waste of your time and money

"I ordered from Corsair's online store at corsair.com. I was looking for the Commander Mini Link which had been announced some time ago, but is no where to be found online anywhere except at corsair.com. I didn't think they actually had it in stock either but thought I had nothing to lose. Well a brief 2 days later it showed up, works great, and does exactly what I need. Will order from Corsair again - they are my favorite brand for computer components. "

"I purchased a Corsair Cx Series CP9020060-NA 600W power supply from an online company on 2/14/2014 for $64.99. The main reason I Chose this item was the $20.00 Rebate offer. On this same date, I processed my online requirement and Corsair emailed my Rebate tracking number. After receiving the product, I cut out the bar code and mailed it along with the Rebate form and the emails confirming the purchase from the online company and Paypal. Corsair denied my claim stating They required a packing slip or shipping invoice. Since I received neither, I sent them a copy of the shipping email conformation from the online company , which is what they had suggested. Corsair then denied it stating that it was untimely. Various sites that I visited listed similar comments from many dissatisfied Corsair customers. I can only conclude that this is standard policy for Corsair. Customer satisfaction does not appear to be relevant to Corsair. Is Corsair to big to fail?"

"I ordered Obsidian Series® 650D Mid-Tower Case (Refurbished) and the package was "lost". I call in on March 28 to check on the package. They just tell me to wait for two day so they can investigate the problem. They also mention that they will call me after two day about status of the package. They NEVER did. I have to constantly call back and they kept telling me the same thing "wait two business day..." Finally on April 15, they gave me my full refund. I had to wait over 1 month and over 5 calls to get them to refund my money. They offered me free 2 days shipping on the next order and this is not even a coupon code. I have to call them again to get this. I am very disappointed and will NOT order from them again."

"Beware of Corsair rebate system. I purchased Corsair RAM XMS 8GB PC10666 DDR3 1333MHz on March 29, 2012. Still can not get my rebate. Corsair claims it processed it and passed my info to Amex to issue a gift card. The amex claims it sent out the card but after 6 months of waiting I still do not have any rebate.
Corsair customer service is really bad, they just don't care about the rebate process. Contacted them several times, no progress
While Corsair produces good quality products, I will never buy anything from them - due to their scam rebates

"Interesting that Corsair does not monitor feedback on this site of their reviews. I have submitted MANY rebates in my life. And I have NEVER had one refused...until I sent in TWO separate rebates to this company.

They "claim" the UPC label was not received. I stapled it to the form as instructed on the submission form. I made copies of everything that was sent to them..along with copies of the UPC labels. So, how is it that BOTH of my envelopes didn't contain the UPC label. Per the agent, the submission forms are scanned into the system and then recycled. So, how do I know they didn't just miss scanning the UPC labels.

The agent I was "chatting" with couldn't help me..so I asked for a supervisor. "Santos" first said they had the copies of the UPC labels but then retracked it and said he was wrong. Then asked me if I had the original labels? DUH...I sent them in with the forms. Basically he said he couldn't help me and disconnected the chat!

STAY AWAY form this company!!!!

"Corsair rebates are a scam. I have sent in two separate rebates to Corsair only to have them say that they have never received them. I have never had an issue with other rebates, or even mailing things in general, but Corsair cheats their way out of rebates this way. They make good products but they need a little bit of work in terms of ethics.

Update: Right after I made this review, they updated my rebate saying they received my mail but it was sent after the deadline. It was sent and postmarked 3 weeks before the actual deadline. Dirty dirty company.

"Excellent technical support! When I started my RMA process I was ready to give Corsair an earful. Found out that a local store had screwed up not Corsair. The store sold me PC RAM instead of Mac RAM. Corsair took care of the stores mistake without making me feel like an idiot for being sold the wrong stuff. I will never look anywhere else for RAM again."

"I cannot understand how a company with quality products can have such lousy customer support. I tried to buy a 200mm fan online and went thru the registration and never got a confirmation key. Kept saying it was sent. NOT I tried to e-mail customer support and never received an answer. 4 times. I had a question for tech supoort and it was answered within 24 hours. I promised them fair reviews on their products and would let people know about their LOUSY customer support. I will NEVER try to buy from their online store again. Corsair has many good products but NO customer support. If I cannot find one of their products at another reputable online retailer such as SYSTEMAX I will use another brand."

"Sent back 2 sticks of XMS3 DDR3 4gb(ea)... they were causing BSODs on every machine they were installed in. Corsair had an RMA approved and shipped within a week. Even overnighted them once RMA testing completed. Have bought multiple PSUs, RAM, and cases that were Corsair brand, and they are always a part of my builds because of their reliability."

"I bought a Corsair AX-1200 PSU on 5/28 from Newegg that had a $20 rebate. I mailed the rebate out on 6/10, they claim it wasn't postmarked until 6/20 and it has to be postmarked within 21 days of the purchase date. All of the other rebates I sent out on the same day were all approved and postmarked way before 6/20.

Judging from the other comments here, it seems like Corsair likes to screw you over on rebates. I mean, they give you a measly 21 days to mail it in. When you consider some of us live in a rural area, and it takes 5-7 days to even receive the item, then of course you have to test it out and make sure it's working because if you clip the UPC and mail it out, most places wont take a return on the item, you have hardly any time to get it done.

Of course it takes them 8-12 weeks to get you your rebate if you're not denied. They should give you 8-12 weeks to get it in to them instead of putting the pressure on the customer and having them miss out on promised rebates.

"I purchased a Corsair 120gig SSD with a rebate. Corsair did everything except email an address where I could send the rebate info. I called the phone number supplied. A lady answered, asked if this was about a rebate, I said yes. She hung up! It was the correct number, I can check the phone numbers dialed this particular phone. So I redialed again and “wa la” my call was blocked.

Called Newegg and noted the above. Was told she would check it out. An hour later she called back and said "the information would be sent to you shortly". Went back to my computer, which was running" and there it was.

As others have said, "Newegg rocks".
